Fun Fact: after Genoa lost Sardinia in 1320-s the island was several times occupied by Genoese forces again during the Arborea-Aragon wars (Genoa was helping to Arborea against Aragon but was not conquering the island, they're just helping to Arborea), but by the end of XIVth century the local dynasty of rulers suppressed and Genoese dynasty of Doria started to rule kingdom of Arborea, (it was a judicate until the XIVth c., but afterwards it became a kingdom) which liberated almost all area of the island. And only about 1410 Aragon finally conquered all the island, Genoese dynasty of Doria was expelled from the island and Sardinia lost its independence.
