Freeman finds the entity holding the portal open for its slaves and, as it pleads that it is invading in order to keep away from assimilation by the Combine and is the only thing keeping them at bay, kills it. Something something, The Combine's enslaved forces invade Earth and all of the world's military is only able to hold them back for 7 hours. The Combine dissolves all militaries, police forces, and governments and establishes its own complete control of resources and population. It installs a single human sympathizer as the sole ambassador between the Combine and the human population. The Combine drains the oceans and takes every resource it can from the planet. Populations are scrambled across the remaining cities of the world and are kept from copulating by some Combine tech. As the Combine capture and enslave or contain the remaining non-Combine alien outbreaks, civilian populations are demoralized and turned against each other. Compliant citizens are given extra rations or the opportunity to work for the Combine's Civil Protection to receive extra food rations and other benefits like "mechanical stimulation" in return for managing the incoming and current populace through cataloguing incoming citizens and policing "anti-citizen behavior" at the will of a city-wide monitoring network and AI originating from a multiple-mile-high structure built at the center of the city. All detected malcompliance is met with city-wide alarms and announcements of the grievances by the Combine's Overwatch AI and Civil Protection radios. CP's are required to contain any and all counter-behavior detected by Overwatch and execute its dystopian will. The CP's are also lied to and convinced to increase rank in the Combine Overwatch military for increased rations, time with family, and the opportunity for "non-mechanical stimulation" by being surgically modified to be stronger transhuman slave-soldiers that only see, hear, and do what the Combine want them to. These unknowing officers have their brains modified, ears, hair, genitalia, and GI tract removed. Their legs, ears, and eyes, and more have been replaced with mechanical implants. They are kept alive and alert with drugs and nutrients dispensed at the control of Overwatch. If they start to experience cognitive-dissonance, their implants are updated on the spot. Something something something, the Combine uses its Civil Protection and Overwatch to imprison some unknown entity. Something something, rebels free aliens enslaved by the Combine for generating power. Something something mysterious entity escapes. Something Something Freeman wakes up a decade or so later on a train arriving at City 17. He flees Civil Protection and bands together with rebelling citizens to fill every Combine soldier, war machine, and sympathizer with 4.6x30mm. Just play it and read the all the backstory. Its worth it.

HL Blue shift and Opposing force are good games too, to go with the Half Life game. Basically its the same story as Half life but they are from a security guards and soldiers stand point. Same facility and all happening at the same time.

@@Wiromax3 Check out some post on forums called 5.56x24mm. It is a slight modification to 22TCM which is backwards compatible but allows for longer bullets to be used and less issues with extraction. I am assuming you are handloading and not buying ammo.

MP7A1 irons are the best sights I've ever gotten my grubby little mitts on, *HANDS DOWN*. They're nice stock, and easy to make even better- drill the Partridge posts on the folded sights for some hybrid tritium/fiber tubes, swap the front post for an AR-style Blitzkrieg tritium front post, and drill perpendicular to the rear peep sight to sink a tritium tube in flush with the bottom of the peep with a thin 0.300" wide hoop made of .5mm side-glow fiber epoxied to the inside wall off the peep ring right on top of the tritium lamp. BOOM, night sights for the three-post *AND* the flip-up aperature sights.

ICUI4CU Just wanted to say you’re welcome! Around this time last year I feel into a deep hole and didn’t get out till earlier this year. It was a low point in my life and I was doing small things just to keep me occupied and mind off of the negative. I managed to reconnect with friends who helped me and I was able to transition and find myself again. Didn’t mean to write a whole story/lecture but i think it’s a timeline/plan you can make for yourself. Take care dude!!!

German export laws won't help either....We're lucky to get the SP 5 from Heckler and Koch...it will be another decade or so until they get the MP 7 out....
