CLIP DESCRIPTION:
Galadriel (Cate Blanchett) revives Gandalf (Ian McKellen) and fends off the Necromancer (Benedict Cumberbatch) with the help of Saruman (Christopher Lee) and Elrond (Hugo Weaving).
FILM DESCRIPTION:
Peter Jackson takes cues from the appendices of The Lord of the Rings to expand New Line Cinema's Hobbit adaptation with this third film completing the epic tale of Bilbo Baggins, as played by Martin Freeman. The story opens to find the vengeful dragon Smaug (voice of Benedict Cumberbatch) decimating the peaceful hamlet of Laketown as Bilbo, Thorin (Richard Armitage) and the rest of the dwarves lay claim to the Lonely Mountain. But their celebration is short-lived as Thorin grows obsessed with finding the Arkenstone. Meanwhile, Galadriel (Cate Blanchett) Elrond (Hugo Weaving) and Saruman (Christopher Lee) battle the Nazgul in an attempt to free Gandalf (Ian McKellen), and get some unexpected help from eccentric wizard Radagast (Sylvester McCoy). Unfortunately for all involved the struggle has only just begun, because as armies of dwarves, elves, orcs, humans and goblins converge at the base of the Lonely Mountain, the fight for the future of Middle Earth begins.

Only time I had sleep paralysis, I didn't get a demon. But someone in the next room started yelling randomly. I think they were actually reacting to an action movie but what immediately went to my mind was that my sleep paralysis demon was off attacking them. I kind of felt left out for awhile.

He’s not hard to fight against. Morgoth may be the most powerful of the Valar, but his strength veined due to his “creations” and it mostly resides within the roots of Middle Earth itself. Think of it like this: Middle Earth is Morgoth’s ring of power. He’s poured most (if not all) of his essence into corrupting Ilúvatar’s creation. That’s why Fingolfin, a mere Elf, was able to hurt him.

The only one older than her that appears in the books (other than Tom Bombadil and Treebeard) is Cirdan, he gave the Elven fire ring to Gandalf. He woke up with the first Elves, even before they came to Valinor. Depending on the definition of years in various ages, Cirdan is between 10.000 and 60.000 years old. In short, he was among the first non-supernatural beings to exist and he is present for pretty much the entire story.

That fight gives other perspective after reading Silmarillion - Galadriel's brother Finrod died in Sauron's prison saving Beren from his werewolf. No wonder she went full on "Dark Queen" mode at him.

@@yassinhafez1337 I think he'd be happy that people appreciated his stories so much that they a) adapted it to film and b) made it more cinematic. Honestly if anything the movies really helped bring more people to read. Don't insult the movies just because they either might not seem like the books (because you can't include everything in a 3-4 hour movie) or because of the cinematic effects(the people behind all of that must have worked hard to make it look impressive such that people who don't read much can enjoy and also make the movie more cinematic while also trying to bring in the essence of the books). :) Enjoy your day!

Riyaz Elessar It is a place where Evil dwells, strengthens and lives. It is a stronghold for Evil Spirits, Demons and other creatures from the abyss. It is supposed to be a fearful place.

This was one of my favorite scenes because we actually see some magic being used by the good magic characters. We see plenty of Evil magic but barely any magic from the good guys. Even the ones who are supposed to be”wizards”

As much as I love all six movies, I was really disappointed with their depiction of the powered-up version of Galadriel. It’s even more egregious here, where she looks like a drowned zombie. Galadriel was supposed to be excessively radiant with light when she revealed her “one ring queen” form.

In fact she use the light of earendil which held the light of earendil 's star - the light of the two trees as preserved in a silmaril. I think that she combined her power with the power of the phial to vanish sauron, i think that with her power alone she will not be able to defear him even in is weak form, thats why ganfalf and saruman do not opose treat to sauron (is known that the wizard also can not use their full strenght)

@Howard Pearcey Oh I know he was diminished at this point and a fraction of his full power, but for an Elf to have the power to completely and totally own the second strongest evil to ever exist is a massive feat on her side. I don't argue she couldn't have done it, mind. You are right she has the ring of element on her side and she is of the First Elves, born in Valinor during the Years of the Trees. I just think its sort of awesome we got to see true Elvish magic in the films for a brief spell, so much of the elves has been mysterious, so to see them in this sort of glory is amazing (and it sort of explains why she'd be the worst thing since Morgoth if she ever gave into the power of the One)

Galadriel has more cause to hate Sauron than most, being the servent of Morgoth, Morgoth who caused so much trouble for the Elves. He helped destroy the 2 trees of Valinor, caused division among the Noldor, which indirectly caused the Noldor to kill the Teleri elves(Galadriel's father was noldor and her mother was teleri) in the 1st kinslaying to persue Morgoth, Morgoth had many battles with the elves in the 1st age which killed thousands of elves(mostly noldor) and all her brothers. Sauron was 2nd in command after Morgoth so he had a hand in so many deathes of elves(men and dwarfs as well).

Not necessarily "right hand". That would be the balrog Gothmog or the dragon Glaurung. Sauron was an important general though.
