He also said that the fulness of the everlasting Gospel was contained in it, as delivered by the Savior to the ancient inhabitants Ezekiel 37: 15 The word of the Lord came again unto me, saying, 16 Moreover, thou son of man, take thee one stick, and write upon it, For Judah, and for the children of Israel his companions: then take another stick, and write upon it, For Joseph, the stick of Ephraim, and for all the house of Israel his companions: 17 And join them one to another into one stick; and they shall become one in thine hand. 18 And when the children of thy people shall speak unto thee, saying, Wilt thou not shew us what thou meanest by these? 19 Say unto them, Thus saith the Lord God; Behold, I will take the stick of Joseph, which is in the hand of Ephraim, and the tribes of Israel his fellows, and will put them with him, even with the stick of Judah, and make them one stick, and they shall be one in mine hand. 1 Nephi 6:2 For it sufficeth me to say that we are descendants of Joseph. 3 And it mattereth not to me that I am particular to give a full account of all the things of my father, for they cannot be written upon these plates, for I desire the room that I may write of the things of God. Genesis 49: 22 Joseph is a fruitful bough, even a fruitful bough by a well; whose branches run over the wall: 25 Even by the God of thy father, who shall help thee; and by the Almighty, who shall bless thee with blessings of heaven above, blessings of the deep that lieth under, blessings of the breasts, and of the womb: 26 The blessings of thy father have prevailed above the blessings of my progenitors unto the utmost bound of the everlasting hills: they shall be on the head of Joseph, and on the crown of the head of him that was separate from his brethren.

I'm not familiar enough with the Bible (have spent most of my time studying and reading the Book of Mormon), but the verses and passages quoted here do ring a bell. It's amazing that these things were foretold so long ago. This to me, in a way, reinforces the need to study the BoM even more (I need to get some Bible study done, too). Seeing and learning of this, no wonder the adversary attacks the BoM and goes to great lengths to even tempt us and lure us away from it. Prophets have said in the past, and present, that we should read this Book. Time and time again. Yet, there are days, even weeks, when I don't even glance in its direction. Too busy, I tell myself. I'll read from it later, I hear myself saying in my mind. The tragicomic situation in this is that by opening the Book and reading even one verse, could quite easily put those thoughts aside. (And yes, sometimes life gets so hectic, so stressful, that we really don't have a moment to open the Book. Maybe on those days use the audio version?) Great reminder of the importance of the Book of Mormon! Like Nephi said, I rejoice in the simplicity of things. And the Book of Mormon is one such thing!

Being very familiar with The Book of Mormon, I'm very anxiously awaiting the sequel, or the continuation, or even the "many more things which were spoken that cannot be written" addition. We have only a portion of the ancient Nephite and Jaredite records. There is much, much more to come. But to understand any furtherance, we must be well familiarized with what we now have, which is what I've been doing. I hope more is brought forth soon.

Also…. a bad tree cannot bring forth good fruit. If Joseph was wicked, like the world loves to claim, he would not have been able to bring forth the Book of Mormon, which any honest reader must admit is very, very good fruit!

Oh yeah. I asked someone yesterday if they believed Jesus Christ is a living Entity on earth today. Ask somebody that question and watch the expression on our their face. Most people are afraid to admit that they do not believe, so they lie.

I don't see why it matters. The Bible talks about cutting your dead concubine into 12 parts and sending one part to each of the 12 tribes, too. The Bible talks about a whole lot of things we routinely sail right over in the church. It's a pretty horrific book in many ways. I could write out a long list that would really annoy most members of the church. There are so many things in the Bible that seem totally unhelpful. So many passages can be, and are, twisted to support so many different things. The mental and verbal calisthenics I've heard church members do to make scriptures support their personal biases, wishes, and beliefs is amazing. Classic is the ton of denial that goes on when you go through and list all the scriptures that aren't favorable to women, and then listen to everyone in the room scramble to explain them away. I don't think members of the church are typically very honest about what's actually in the book. So, really, what difference does it make? Either Christ will show up at some point and confirm that the LDS church is the one true church, or he won't. I, for one, am really hoping he shows up and says, "Well, a whole lot is changing now." Because there's so much in the culture of the church that is just toxic. Personally, I wish the church and all the pro-church podcasters would focus a lot less on questions like, "what obscure detail can we prove or dissect?" and a lot more on questions like, "is this really what Christ had in mind when he said 'love one another'?" Because I don't think it is. I think the LDS church lost sight of genuine love a long time ago.
