I just got a 2015 Fit a couple months ago, I LOVE her. versatile, gas mileage, it's zippy through the city. SO MUCH FUN. Perfect for me and my dog. Shame they stopped selling it in the US.
@@LiamDrives They redesigned the Fit/Jazz in 2020, but didn't release that Gen4 in the US. Instead, we got a final year of the Gen3 then gone. Your video really nailed why I love my 2019 Fit. That 28.5 horsepower engine has a lot of pep! The clutch engages smoothly but I miss the more abrupt grab on older Hondas. Lily's comment about the fuel efficiency is dead on, too. I average 40mpg (5.9 l/100km) in mostly highway driving. I recently started actually trying to save fuel, and get 43.5mpg. Such a lovely car, I think the best hatchback in the US. One of the few that offered stick shift in a family car. Even my local dealer said they still get customers looking for the Fit. What a shame that Honda dropped that segment of the US market.
Have a GD3 5 speed sport and its been fantastic. In this high inflation environment, with sky high oil prices I am blessed to get 34 mpg out of this go-kart. Maintenance is simple and cheap. Glad I bought it last year.
I can fit my 7 ft 10 inch kayak and my bike on top of it in my 2007 fit . I have 265,000 miles on it and part of me wants a newer one but this car has been so good to me
Owned mine for six months now , its a Honda Jazz here in the Uk. Blown away what a amazing little car it is . its so versatile , the Swiss Army knife of the car world. Economical , fun to drive , small enough to park anywhere but deceptively big on the inside. Great vision with the glass while driving. It was a car I would never have considered prior to owning now but purchased from a old guy who gave up driving. Its a 3 rd car in the family household but everyone loves it . Would not part with it now .
It is more fuel efficient too if you don't need the space. I have a 5 speed element and while I've loved it I'm looking into the fit as a replacement for city driving/better gas. But still debating haha we'll see
You did a great job of explaining the Honda Fit. I just bought a 2008 Honda Fit and I love it. I got 36.5 mpg driving it home from the seller's place at 75 mph with the windows rolled down (A/C doesn't work and it was not ordered with cruise control). I want to use it as a parts runner to haul engines and transmissions from chevy silverado pickups. The hatch door is 3 ft wide at the bottom. 3.5 ft wide in the middle. 3 feet wide at the top. This thing has good power for such a little engine. I test drove a brand new 2019 Yaris and this car blew the doors off it. The Yaris is gutless and I don't think I would be happy owning one.
I have an 07 Jazz. Back box fell off. 80 quid. Electrics died 380. Gearbox needed overhaul 400 quid. I've bought my car twice. Do I love? Duh of course!!
I own and have made a couple videos on my own 2009 Honda Fit, and I absolutely love it! You really can "Fit" everything into it, and I LOVE how the back seats fold every which way. Awesome video! 🙂
Have a 2017, it's the the most practical, dependable car I've ever owned and wouldn't trade it for a Rolls Royce. Honda made a mistake discontinuing Fit sales in the USA.
I found the center console with armrest new on e-bay for the Honda Fit for $44. "Rotatable Storage Box Armrest Center Console For Honda Fit Jazz 2009-2013 12 11" Brand: XUKEY. Made in California.
2010 Honda Fit Sport here and in regard to the cargo capacity my friend's description says it all, he calls it a "Clown Car"! The type where 30 clowns come out of a tiny car!
My wife bought a 2017 new. It's an amazing car, great gas saver and it has this powerful engine with 130 hp! Sadly, She got the CVT option because MT is a beast and more fun to drive. The car has 60k Miles (95k kms) and feels and looks brand new. She's thinking on getting a new car in 1-2 years but She's not gonna sell it, She's gonna pass it to our daughter who's going to college in 2 years. There're a lot of people who wanna buy her this great car, considering that She takes excellent care of that car and I polish and wax it myself. Now that Honda doesn't make the Fit anymore, makes it more valuable.
Got tired of repairs on lyxury maxima. Although the fit is stiff long drives. I'll take 45 mpg manual trans and nothing but oil change any day. Never go back. I love honda fits!!!
Did it have any problems? Like the AC and when you went over to 65-70 mph? Starts overheating especially in the Summer. Bad in the freeway. You go 85 mph, you're going to end up opening the Windows or the AC will blow steam.
Have an 05 GD1 (Japanese import 1.3 iDSI) with the CVT. It now has 130,000 kilometres. Common faults are the rubber bushes in the strut tops wearing out and knocking, stabiliser end links knocking, sealant in the top rear roof cracking and letting rain water into the spare wheel well, if CVT, starter clutch burning out and vibrating on take off, dash bulbs burning out, or needing a tap/thump to bring them back on. The paint on the wing mirror bases gets blown off with water pressure (see so many gen1 fits/jazzes around without paint lol. But at 17.5k/l and room for 4 large people, I can't complain 😁 I am suprised you didn't lower the back seat into the floor before pushing the front seat forward and reclining the back, makes the whole floor flat-ish throughout the car.
I have an 07 Fit 5 spd with 182k miles I use as a 2nd car/beater. I drive it like a hate it and it just begs for more. It's been my pickup truck, my beach car, my rainy day car, all while having as much interior volumn as most SUVs and gets well over 30mpg.
We have a 2013 Fit Sport. Love it. Been almost problem free for the 4 years we've had it and we love driving it because of the sharp handling. Also its the family truckster is just has so much room in the back.
Quality of this is worse than the first generation in the video. Had one, and not impressed. Less paint, less rust protection, less sound isolation, overall feels cheaper than 1 gen
I just bought one, but I've not started using it yet. From the comments section of the Fit review I understand that it's dependable and durable to own one. Thank you for the video.
One thing Honda Fit reviews always miss: front-passenger legroom. The back seat actually has more space than the front seat. I drive one of these and my husband is cramped!
I have a 2009 fit sport manual. I love it. Now have over 200k miles and the only thing other than routine maintenance is an AC compressor. That’s it in over 200k miles. I guess there is a reason that CR rates it #1 sub compact.
My Honda Jazz year 2006 , on motorway it can make 68 Mpg. it has 158k Miles. Easy to fix. Only complain the rust can be develop in the rear wheel arch.
You have to get rid of the mud and salt stuck there every now and again. I use my fingers. It is a no fun job but no rust in 15 years on my 2005. Honda never adressed this issue and it is one of their weak spots. Also with the Rover 600 and 213/16 models.
@@JeeGee114 yes. I use a drill with a metal brush. Take out the rust. Put primer, paint etc and asphalt. And I am happy. Of course the secret is attack the rust right away. For me is sad see other cars. Hondas with rust there. The owners must attack that super quickly. It is easier and cheap. Than lost all the arch. I check for rust each time I wash my car. Another was the bonnet. Small chips
Last year after my Civic Si was stolen, I looked for about a month trying to find a car while using a rental. Ended up with a 2011 Fit Sport. Car drives great but is just ass-ugly, too slow, and the size of the windshield is atrocious. Makes me want another Civic Si ASAP.
I have the exact same model and year. Still going strong at 160,000 miles, hasn't skipped a bit since I bought it in 2010. Low maintenance for sure, I do the oil changes.
Brought one for 300 pound, never looked back, passed its MOT only needing bulbs, tyres and a handbrake, can’t complain and no rust either which I will take care of
Just got a Fit as my first real car (excluding the Grand Caravan I bought off my mum in school) and I'm super satisfied. I drive 45 miles to work currently... And I average ~40 MPG on a standard trip (mostly highway) and that's the best part imo. I also play in a band so I need to transport lots of gear and the space is honestly kinda comparable to the Grand Caravan I used to drive but it handles SOOOOO much better. The only downsides I've noticed is there's no way to rest your right elbow if you tend to hold the wheel with your right arm. The dashboard indicator on my Fit acts up (as I've seen MANY people have this problem with every generation of the Fit.) in that the odometer/fuel gauge/current MPG display doesn't turn on until you've been driving for almsot 20 minutes. I've heard people have fixed this by soldering wires or by getting the whole display replaced, but it is quite a detriment when it doesn't turn on. The visibility is great though, there's hardly no blind-spot, and the right-side mirror has a camera that you can easily activate by turning on your right-turn blinker OR by pressing the button on the tip of the doo-hickey (that controls your lights/blinker) on the left side of the steering wheel. This camera gives great info and makes merging much safer (at least on the right side) and easier. As for the left side mirror, there is no camera, but the mirror has a curved bit towards the left-most side that allows you to see more of your blindspot. The handling is also pretty great, it can accelerate quite fast and is capable of some crazy speeds, even though I haven't tried taking it to it's limits, it can easily do 100 MPH. The low nature of the car makes it easy to take sharp turns, but it also makes you "feel the road" a lot more. By that I mean this is NOT a smooth ride. you WILL feel potholes and bumps much more than in most other cars, but honestly that doesn't bother me too much as it notifies me moreso when I'm driving on a shitty patch of road. If you live in NJ (or some other place with terrible roads) then you might not want this because those roads are abysmal. Otherwise, this is a SOLID car. I got mine w/ ~60k miles, regularly serviced, with only one previous owner for '15k'. So far I think it was a damn good deal. Don't take my word too much as this is the first car-car I've driven (non-SUV/van/truck) but this thing is great.
If the car's odometer shows that the car has travelled a low number of kilometers, then in the interest of parallel structure, one would not report that the car has low mileage - one would report that the car has low kilometerage.
I am in CA, and gas prices in my area are close to 7.00 Dls. I do deliveries, I have had this car for a year now, well in another week lol. This car it's been a blessing, although I'm paying 20.00 dollars above from a year ago, the tank gets full with a 65.00 average when at the E level, despite all this crap, and the fact that I use it for deliveries all week, the full tank last me the entire week, I can fit 80-90 extra-large pizzas for school lunch and this little one handles the weight, the space, even runs with no hesitation at all, accelerating as if there is no load. This little car is literally a BEAST. This is the best money I ever invested in a car without a doubt. I am super glad for this Honda!
I took a couple of these for test drives before i purchased my toyota echo i really like them.....but i ended up going toyota because of the deal..... 2100 CAD an it only had 83k but in terms of reliability I think they're about the same I've seen Honda fits for sale with really high mileage
I had a miata too! What year is it? I miss it so much, such great cars. I also had a B4000 which is pretty much a ranger with different bumpers. I have a few videos on that as well. Thanks for the comment!
Bought a new one in China and will go pick it up in a few hours. Such a good deal! This will obviously be my last gas car and I'll likely sell it in a few years but this is the perfect car for what I need right now.
The honda is definitely more fun. The honda has more power and better handling. its plenty of fun stock if you dont mind slow cars. With just better wheels and tires you can have a really fun car that also looks really good.
It is certainly roomier than my 2002 Toyota Corolla hatchback. I'm thinking this even has a bigger boot than my Corolla. But the Corolla front seats are more comfortable and the engine has more HP, so the Corolla is quicker thanks to it's larger engine.
Look, I love my 08 fit, but the seats are anything but supportive. And the driving position suuuuucks. I've put around 120k on mine and I've tried sooo many ways to improve the driving position and support issues. Ultimately I keep it around because of its practicality, but I hate it for long drives.
I just bought my Honda Fit RS and I am loving it. This video is amazing and has actually shown me a few things I didn't know about the car. I will try to fold the seats and see if I can chill in the passenger seat as well :D
Sadly Honda decided we can't have the fit in USA. I've wanted one for years. Two mistakes they made. Jazz would have been a catchier name and the exterior styling screamed econo box, although I liked it just fine. It seems there was little advertising also.
I am in the market to buy a used vehicle that is reliable and I am very interested in getting a Honda Fit in this comment section what would be the best years of this vehicle to own? Because I have seen some really good ones for 2015 and 2016 and I'm really considering and buying one of those.
got an 08 with 42k miles for 5k right as covid was hitting. it fits in spots that people give up on. 35 mpg on road trips. i've slept in the back on a camping mattress as a 5'10" human. it's VERY fun to drive, and everyone who gets a chance to drive it says the same thing. it's very easy to do basic maintenance on. my main complaints are that it is a bit loud on the highway, has no cruise control (base model), and it is an automatic. i drove a manual ge8 and it is a significant improvement.
Hi ... I'm from Surrey (funny how you can always spot the lower mainland from the scenery). Got a 07 Fit with all kinds of problems last July and only got it on the road 4 days since. I'm just going thru them now. Solve one new one pops up but I bought it as a project car so I'm not that worried about the problems,
I have one,for 3 days. It is 20 years old and it is one of the most fun and easy car that i ve driven. I recommend it to everyone that want s a cheap reliable awesome car.
My 2011 honda fit fronts seats are to long to lay down flat,i may try to swap the passenger one out if i can find a seat that will lay flat.Does anyone know which models lay flat?
