@@OrthoEvalPal just happened to me. Pain isn’t very much, only with sudden, or quick movement. More of an aching dull pain. I don’t feel the tendon with the hook test however, but I’m wondering if that’s because it’s kind of swollen. Could this be grade 2? Thanks in advance.
Thanks, was boxing and felt pain after throwing left hooks, felt tight and bicep bruised. I can do the test, maybe not as serious as I thought, No pain, just tightness and bruising.

Im laying in bed with a distal rupture right now. Kind of nervous because i csnt see an ortho until next month for it. Will it be too late to get it fixed? By the time i get in there it will be 4 weeks since injury
i train kickboxing and this wednesday our trainer thought it was a good idea to do 30minutes of bicep curls going 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 and then start from the bottom again the next day the joint above my elbow was hurting and couldnt straighten my hand without pain but went on to training and today it was even worse. started worrying if its really just muscle pain but with this test i could atleast feel the tendon and could feel it stop my finger from moving though didnt fell as big as i expected :D anyway probably not a tear but overworked or something

@@mcuisall6033 i mean how should i know :D for me it went away in a week (after like 5-6days i could just barely feel it). massage and stretch reguraly and it should go away faster. also preferrably dont exercise anything that uses hands to properly rest and ofcourse to avoid the immense amount of pain. but some light excersice could help (do your own research) if the pain is the same after like a week then you should probably start being alittle worried
Can hook it but we have to push against the muscles. Right? And something kind of moves over it, if touched from the front and not hooking it. Is something broken or are they the veins or nerves?
Thanks for the video, you really calmed me down. I was doing hammer curls and suddenly felt a pain. Its neither blue nor painful anymore, but I dont feel too comfortable putting it under load. Is there a way to release tightness of the brachialis? It feels like my brachialis, right on the outside in the elbow bend where it crosses from lower to upperarm might be super tight and needs releasing. Regards
You could try a massage gun, manual massage or foam roller also a light stretch by straightening the elbow and using the other hand to push the wrist down toward the floor and out like a tennis elbow stretch.

@@OrthoEvalPal if I’m understanding correctly, my distal bicep is fine as I can feel the connective tissue and preform the hook test. My hook test went exactly as you described in this video with a mushy feeling as I rotate upwards.
I really need to know myself. Based on this test I don't have a rupture, but it seems like my biceps absolutely will not recover from this sore feeling, even after not working them for over a month. I can work through the pain whenever I wanted, but it's kind of worrying.
