Stunning machine - Richie is a top guy,met him a couple of years ago when he was visiting friends and family up here in Yorkshire - this commercial senior is one of the nicest seniors I can ever hope of seeing - and rare 😀
Oh my god this takes me back! When I was very young I used to go to play ground in the school holidays when my parents were at work, which was in a big church hall with lots of rooms. They had one of these and a Premier Mini and I haven’t seen one since. Fantastic to see it again! For some reason, both this and the Premier disappeared after a few years and got replaced with a Turbopower Junior and then a U1104
A rare one indeed, and in very good nick too, apart from the hole in the bag, but I'm sure a good Hepaflo conversion will help keep the dirt in. Those type of suppressors are more difficult to remove as you have to re-join the 2 wires on either sides with a choc block or some other pair of by pass wires, as I did this on my own 652A vacs - not quite as simple as a Lux 500 series where you just whip the supressor and its wires out with no other connections to re-make. Amazing to think that by 1979, the 652 platform was 21 years old, rather like the humble Purepower, running on for 22 years this year, and terribly dated now too. Hoover really did like to get their money's worth out of a model design, and they did that with the 652 didnt they, lol! I wonder if even Ibaisaic has got one of these, they really are rare as hens teeth in this day and age!
You should see what happens when a large filter suppressor 'explodes' on a washer, I have seen terrified customers and the inside of the machine absolutely covered in silver foil and other stuff from inside the can!
Funky Hoover senior 😀 I have a Hoover U1036 junior circa late 1970s in yellow it was my mums it had motor rebuild not sure if you’re interested in it? It’s in reasonable condition and working order
