“He was pierced for our transgressions; He was crushed for our iniquities; upon Him was the chastisement that brought us peace, and with His wounds we are healed.”
And this is why The Name of Jesus is above any other name throughout all eternity, we worship and praise Your Holy Name and we bow down at your feet, King of Kings 🙏🏾
This is Possibly the most painful and felt like the longest video on RU-vid. If this is what Christ went through for my deeds, then I need to seriously examine myself 😢. Lord forgive me for my sins, I repent 🙏🏽
THANK YOU JESUS! The True Son of God! thank you for bearing our sicknesses and weakness's and infirmities upon yourself and taking our sins upon yourself for us to Save us! from hell, from death, from sin, from evil, and from all the stupid decisions we make. Thank you May God Bless you all with Great Peace, Joy, Love that ONLY HE can Give Freely! He doesn't need us But We NEED HIM! 2 Corinthians 12 9 And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.
I am so sorry Lord Jesus Christ, that we could not be obedient ,,,even a little ...have the Faith of a mustard seed, and/or have a minute amount of LOVE so that GOD would not have to send you to save us!!!
This has left me in Awe of what our Lord & Savior did for us 😭😢🙏 We often forget the Total Magnitude of what He did & what Total Obedience to our Heavenly Father he exercised by doing what he did 🙏 I don't deserve it, None of us do. Thank you Lord Jesus!!! ‼️❤️😭 The Shroud of Turin Documentary says he could have been lashed about 600 times from evidence from the Blood marks, not including the Wounds inflicted from other things like the crown, the nails & the side wound 😰
I'm really trying to think of anything anyone could do to ever deserve this, and I can't do it. There are some truly, truly atrocious people that have existed throughout history. But crucifixion is so far beyond what is even remotely acceptable.
Have any of you here heard of the crimson worm? Take a look at its life cycle; it gives a whole new meaning to "I am a worm and not a man" from Psalm 22.
Aside from the horrendeous physical terror of crucifixition, the other immense horror was the utter degradation and humiliation of it being inflicited, in public, after one had been stripped completely naked and deprived of even the most basic of dignities.
To think that even after Jesus walked through the crucifixion, He served His disciples breakfast. How could the Perfect, Almighty, and Just God forgive me? I wouldn’t even be willing to do what Jesus did! And the fact that He knows I will sin, and He still accepts me anyway… How could this be real? I must surrender to Him and Him alone!
You forgot to mention that the cross (not a tropaeum like you see in church but a cruciform torture-stake) was equipped with a well-known projecting seat _(illo sedilis excessu),_ Tertullian, Ad Nationes 1.12.3-4. This seat was a central pale of the pole _(medius stipitis palus),_ Tertullian, An Answer to the Jews 10.7-8, also described as the pale from the middle of the pole _(medio stipite palus),_ Tertullian, Against Marcion 3.18.3-4. Irenaeus called it one of five ends and high points _(quinque fines et summitates),_ situate in the middle, on which rests he who is affixed with nails _(unus in medio, ubi requiescit qui clavis affigitur)._ Tertullian also said it was of a unicorn (Indian Rhinoceros 🦏), as did Justin Martyr. Justin said it looked like a horn and is shaped like a horn, on which are suspended/'ride' those who are crucified/crucifying themselves _(epi hō epoxountai hoi estaurōmenoi),_ Dialogue with Trypho 91.1-2. So how does it work? Seneca Minor in his rebuke of Maceneas, calling his expressed unwillingness to suicide when the time comes the most debased of prayers and a turpitude of effeminate verse _(carminis turpitudo effeminati)._ Now I'll show you why: "[Maceneas] 'Go ahead. You may nail me up and set for my seat the piercing torture-stake.' [Seneca Minor] Do you think it's a trifle to press one's own wound and to hang impaled/stretched out on a crossbar?" _(Esse tante premere vulnum suum et pendere districtum patibulo?)_ Moral Epistles 101.10-14. To press one's own wound is to impale one's self... in the back passage: the exit to one's body. The penetration no doubt introduced horrible pain, and the lower one went the more one was stretched out---not only in the upper body but also down there which felt like one was also being split apart. Visual depictions include the Vivat Crux Graffito, the Pozzuoli Graffito, and the Periere Gem.
Desiring God : Not every crucified, had been scourged before their crucifixion. The two criminals crucified on each side of Jesus, were not scourged before they were crucified.
I hope he is okay and we hope that he will be safe and we don't want him to suffering from morning to night time we hope gods is okay because he is in our hear forever
The Bible says through the hands that he was pierced... I believe it was directly through the center of the hand and I also believe that it is perfectly capable of sustaining the weight of a man especially if they tie the hands as well.
If a sign of electric chair as a sign is absurd .why do poeple have signs of a torture instrument namely the cross .i dont think that the very early church used it as a sign .but rather a fish.if you have any thing. Different to show me I would like to hear your comments .
They didn't... you're right. Neither did the pilgrims and revivalists... or covenanters. Neither do conservative protestants today (eg Orthodox Presbyterian Churches). Heck, in the 80's I remember seeing a cross necklace, and just assuming the person wearing it was Roman Catholic That's one man's experience (n=1) in a small conservative city... but things _have_ changed.
There is virtually no evidence to support the hypothesis that crucifixion causes asphyxiation. This whole reversal of active/passive inhalation/exhalation is purely hypothetical. It’s all anatomic conjecture with virtually no data to support it. And it relies on a faulty assumption about the position of the body on the cross-an assumption which contradicts the favored position by archeologists (who, in turn, made their conclusion based on only ONE bone!). All of this mess seems to stem from Edwards 1986 article in JAMA. Theologians and pastors need to stop teaching that crucifixion causes asphyxia and let’s all just admit our ignorance on the topic. We simply don’t know enough to draw meaningful conclusions.
You don't know the half of it. The Romans usually attached a well-kniwn projecting _sedile_ midway up the cross, or rather cruciform torture-stake. Do you know what its purpose was, other than allowing the crucified to get some relief by sitting on it? You probably don't want to know!
