great stuff man. I love this movie so much. I think Bong Jun Ho''s detailed directing is what makes his movies so great. If you have not already watched it, I recommend "Joint Security Area" This movie was directed by Park Chan Wook. You probably know this already but he is one of famous directors in Korea along with Bong Jun Ho.

One time I watched director Bong's interview by chance on RU-vid. And i was really shocked to hear from his interview that he actually thought of "killing himself(suicide)" with such a big pressure as a director while he worked on this film The Host. The director Bong said the big American special effect company rejected to work with him on his film project "The host", it made him so depressed. He felt really no hope to make The host without that company, so he wanted to commit suicide seriously. He actually said it on his Korean interview. But see where he is standing on film industry today. Such amazing thing that one decision can change your future completely. Anyway, as a big Korean film fan, I want to recommend you the Korean horror film " A tale of two sisters" It is an old Korean classic horror film, but it made a huge success in film critics and money market in Korea when it was released. This is Korean scary ghost story, also very psychological thriller with a big shocking ending twist. It was really one of the best Korean horror films that even Hollywood bought its copy right and made a U.S. remake film, which became a big failure. A tale of two sisters... such a great Korean horror film with such a beautiful best ost music and unique artistic mise-en-scène. The beautiful O.S.T music was also huge hit in music market in Korea once when this film was released even though this film was horror movie.

I just finished this movie and was looking for commentary/thoughts others may have, and I really enjoyed your thoughts throughout especially in relating it to the history of the US and atomic bombs. If you're into Bong Joon-ho's work, I would definitely recommend his movie Mother if you haven't seen it already! It's one of my favorites of his, up there with Parasite and it's very thought-provoking as well

This movie was a core memory of my childhood, it made love monsters and asian culture and movies And for a low budget movie form 2006 and for the monster to appear as much as it did, the cgi looked great, im watching it again and it aged pretty well

Great film, great reaction, I love korean cinema, their movies just seem to have more emotion, in all the genres. I just recently watched The Witch: The Subversion, amazing, you should check it out.
