Great review, Gabe. Been looking at these after getting a demo D9 Forged 7i to try out. I’m pretty convinced the extra loft these provide over most of the other power irons is going to give me the descent angle I need to get the thing stopped. As a slower, but not slow swing speed player, those clubs with a 7i under 30deg may go a long way, but they come in at such a shallow angle as to render them all but useless. A see a trip to the club fitter on my horizon.😂

Gabe, really enjoyed your review of the Wilson DynaPwr Forged irons. I'm definitely going to test them...probably against the new Callaway Ai Smoke irons (any other suggestions?). I realize they might be slightly different categories (Players Distance vs. Game Improvement) but I'd probably weaken the lofts on the Ai Smoke irons by 1-2 degrees to get more spin and stopping power. I don't think you mentioned the shaft the Wilsons came with. Is it the KBS Tour Lite? Thanks again for the review.

@LetsPlayThru how would you compare these to the Mizuno Hot Metal Pros? I know you mentioned comparing it to the Pro 225 and 245s, but these look a little more friendly. I was ready to buy the Hot Metal Pros, but now I want to hit these for distance and the difference in feel of forged vs nickle chromoloy forged. I hit the Pro 223s and the Hot Metals were much better for me.

Honestly, I’d love a new set of irons. But at my age, I’m not convinced that they’d perform any better than the AP1s I’m bagging now. Just not playing enough to see the improvements or warrant the investment. So, your videos become my test sessions.

I just bought the d9 forged irons and they are absolutely the best clubs I’ve ever owned. They feel better than the forged mizuno irons I borrowed that made me want forged irons. If I didn’t get the d9’s when I did these would definitely be on my list

Love wilson! I picked up last year's model, the d9s, for $300 brand new. For a game improvement iron, they feel amazing and have that crunch at impact.

For some reason, the 4/5 on workability turned into a 5/5 on the next graphic (and thereafter). Final tally shows 5/5 on every category but 96/100 overall. Not sure whether this is something you can fix.

Love your enthusiasm Gabe. Would you rate these Wilson's superior to all of the other DTC and less frequently used brands that you have demo'ed? I no longer have your sort of speed. I wonder if lack of stopping power would start to become an issue.

Ordered the 243/241 combos this past week. Couldn't pass up those MMT 105s/MCC grips with no upcharge. I hit the Wilson CBs and if these feel similar they'll be awesome feeling.

I don’t think I would switch, those are pretty nice. It’s not that big of an improvement to warrant it IMO.

Agree with Gabe here, they are practically the same club, with same lofts and face. These are just the 2024 model of the d9 forged. I also own the d9 forged and tested these at a fitting. Zero difference

I hit them yesterday on the course. I was hitting them straight and at that were at least 1/2 to 1 club longer in distance. Also as mention in the video the trajectory was higher. I have the standard dart regular flex graphite shaft which I really like. While I definitely like the distance I was more impressed with how straight I hit them which I believe had a lot to do with the clubs. You have to give them a try.

looks a lot like the D9Forged, that I own and play... feel off the face is not as nice as a Srixon or Mizuno iron head, was the feel off the face of the Dynapower really good? I still play th D9F because of the consistency over the face, especially on lower hits. as long as performance is good, I can ignore the harsh feel

The feel of Wilson forged irons is unmatched, I still play my c300’s. Are you using a rock hard golf ball by chance? I’ve never heard somebody refer to a forged iron as “harsh”

I'm still grateful to have my D9s. I don't think I would be good enough to play the forged clubs. It does show how underrated Wilson is, because Gabe is always impressed with them in his reviews. I've been busy at work, but I'm glad I got a chance to see this review.

Great review and looks a great club must try them I’m looking at forged irons but as a senior mid handicapper want forgiveness and distance. Tried the T350, G430, Paradym Smoke, DCB, P790. Always loved Wilson and the prices are sensible!

All great Clubs, but a couple of points: these are the most game improvement of the 3. While all consider themselves “players distance” clubs, the other two lean more toward the “players” category while these are more toward the “distance” category. If I was ranking customizability options it would go, Maltby, Mizuno, then Wilson. These are the most forgiving of the 3.

looking to replace my stealth irons. looking for more height in the long irons (5,6) and better feel in the short irons. These are on my short list. hit the 7 iron and the feeling compared to the stealth is night and day. Wilson feels so good. Wilson is a smaller club but looking down it has a re-assuring thick top line and i was pleasantly surprised with the forgiveness compared to Stealth. Tested the D9 forged irons today against the Stealth's - wow what a difference. D9's were so good and highlights the Stealth's feel is so bad !. Now waiting for my club to get a full set of Dynapower forged rentals in so i can play a few rounds with them. But these are on the short list along with the Titleist T350's and maybe Mizuno JPX923 Forged, Srixon ZX4's

Should try the Taylormade QI HL they released this year. I will have to change my play style now that I have them. My 7 (more of a 5 iron most likely.) was going 185 carry 197 total. I probably didn't need the extra distance. I know I will struggle with gapping. I will need to improve on half shots. But love the feel.

I am just so torn on the Wilson’s and a couple other clubs. Ping 430-730 and JPX923. They all hit great for me at the stores…lol. Higher handicap but control is what gets me. I can hit it a mile. Wish there was an unbias helpline…lol

I would say I like the look of last years D9 Forged a bit more and the name DynaPower does nothing for me. That being said the D9f almost made it in the bag last year and lost out to JPX923 forged.

would have bought these but default really bad shaft choice. its literally the highest spinning highest launch shaft offered by any brand i think. I tried 5 other irons, this was easily the worst performing stock, yet i believe the head itself is one of the best. my mishits were great...unfortunately they were all mishits. ended up with st pro cally just because the shaft was a more middle profile. not extreme one way or the other. tested st pro, jpx 923 hm pro, miz 223, dynapower forged, i 525.

Yeah that KBS Tour Lite as the default wont be for everyone. But there are custom shafts available without an upcharge.

The d9 forged 5 iron is the easiest 5 iron I have ever hit! Easier than the t200! They go high and long. I’m sure the dynaforged will be equally as good!
