I usually struggle in the last map of events, was expecting to rage, then I killed the boss and was like "Hold on, the boss definitely has a 3rd phase or something, I only killed 55 enemies, there's plenty of stage to go". Then nothing happened.
On the bright side, it allowed players to experiment different/weird team comp. due to basic boss mechanics. I had fun tanking the boss with Dur-nar and Mousse.

@@cleveland2286 out of the latest bosses i fought, i was only able to beat guideless IS4 1st and 4th bosses, Slumbering of Sui, Signore del Lupi (only basic level, not EX), Paranoia Illusion, Witch King (only basic level, not EX) and i think that's all. I think the last story boss i was able to beat completely guideless was... in chapter 5?

Thanks and this is a good thing to know. Seems like i missing this unwritten info then. Because, i even read like around 3x about this boss and i'm pretty sure it didn't stated about his Physical DEF slowly decreasing when getting hit like that one defender from LT.
Honestly it's kinda hard to think of something to help this boss, conceptually it's cool but functionally it's just a big statstick, and not even control immune to boot. Honestly, it would've been interesting to see the boss summon mobs like the phase transition in p1, that accomplishes something the Blight molt tries to do, which is accommodate for the lost stats. As per usual, it's fine for a boss to be weak, but there are still interesting opportunities for this boss. Another thing would be, since the boss loses defense and res while being washed in p2, it could probably afford to make it so that it constantly increases the blight of the farmland that it's on, its blight spear might need some reworking at that point but the blight spear unfortunately never comes into play at level 0 so that's probably a tradeoff that's feasible. Also, make p1 damage throttle valves. Hell, make p1 crush them. That's definitely something it looks like it could do.
I think every molt spawning enemies would make sense. Beyond that it just needs some form of ranged pressure This is an issue most common in older bosses, but if an enemy can't threaten your ranged tiles they become extremely vulnerable to just dying to a bunch of ranged ops.
@@DrSilvergun Yeah, there's also something that could be done with the fact that operators who damage the boss get marked (that red aura they have). All it does is cause blight on retreat but maybe something can be done with like a debuffing effect. Or, here's an idea, make the spear deal a ton of damage to every marked operator. And make the spear a normal cooldown instead of a blight-based one. That'd be cool.
At this point nothing can help this boss except hard stages built around it on ex and s floors. With a good map it shouldn't be that hard to make even a simple statstick to be annoying. If someone didn't notice beside boss HS-9 has no dangerous enemies, literally zero, null. Nientos. One spitting guy and four pigs idling for 10 hours do not count. Except for boss if you're not cautious the only thing that can damage you here is miasma. You can fall asleep for one minute after starting the stage and nothing will happen. Imagine if map doesn't let you simply focus on the one threat and forget that there's actually other enemies exist until you're done with the boss.
All it took for me was S1 Saria tanking and *one single* cast of Ceobe S2 to kill both boss phases and most of the trash mobs it spew out. I shit you not, I think all the times my Saria ever got close to dying was because of the piss water arts damage than the boss itself. God bless this is a farming stage. I didn't even know it gets visibly smaller as you hit it. Edit: I only just found out that it loses DEF the more you hit it because it died so damn fast for me. I wonder what silly comps i can come up with for faster farming. Maybe goat boy my beloved?
@@DrSilvergun Degen with the Warf and guard bot buffs and Thermal instakills it's first phase right at the spawn. Warf buff is enough to instakill second one. Who would have thought, huh?
...my heart calls out to me, to do the funniest thing I can come up with, all to insult this boss: beehunter+flint melting the boss' DEF then shredding him. Probs need to find a stall strat that's self-sufficient then wait for the water to clean out, then go to town on his ass. I just want an excuse to use my dear brawlers on anything again.
I used the Abyssal Hunter and had Skadi solo hold the boss so I didn't even realize how high the boss's attack damage was until I went and redo my rerun for trust farming Shu and Zuo Le.
@@Melatoniki5:08 those drones latch on operators and deal dmg but can be killed with one basic attack from any operator, Warfarin can't kill them bcz she's a medic so she simply dies, you can bait them with fast redeploy (drones die with the operator they are latched onto) or defenders
@@Melatoniki The animation is a little transparent and subtle, but if you pay attention you can see the swarm of drones doing circles over the operators they latched on, like bees.
First phase I tanked with Ines while Shu and Hibiscus and Wanqing healed. Second phase I tanked with Viviana S2, both phases DPSed by Ray. I couldn't see the second phase boss design properly until I saw this video. lol
The real boss in this event is the flies, they doesn't kill my operators but they just kill my phone (I Literally get about 2-4 fps in HS-8 at 1st try, fortunately my phone survived)
lol when I played this stage I misread how it worked so I thought it was at damage thresholds. So I was trying to nuke it down instantly with Mylnar. Then I tried Ceobe since I thought maybe it’s arts res is lower than its def. And the boss just like instantly died from her s2. It was so goofy I didn’t even correctly know how the boss worked and still beat it.
@@kotyara85 Yeah. Beat the boss and got trimmed in 1st attempt just by doing a Hoshi stall and Thorns solo on bottom lane, it's hilarious how laughable this boss stage is.
is it me or the boss with that DEF dropoff when hit 3 times also have ATK down as the same rule as DEF dropoff? Curious, but that what I can think off about this "Basic" Boss.
So, to top it all off, when the boss got hit 3 times, DEF Down ATK Down Movement Speed Up Weight Down It's what I picture here, so if this boss gets inside the CC battleplan, they might involve Operator ASPD just for that weakness.
My strategy is to let Typhon wail all her skill 3 on it, Gravel to tank all the flies, and Degenbrecher to hold the bottom entrance and finish any straggler with her skill 3. Perfect. But yes this boss was unusually easy
@@rw6611 She really is. I got lucky and roll for her on the first 10 try, Typhon too on her banner. Now I bring both of them in every battle. Typhon is a boss killer, Degen is crowd control AoE, especially in a choke point where these two can obliterated anything. Knowing how operator skill truly work can make you actually think of a strategy to fully utilized. This is the first event where I mow down all 9 stages without consulting Kyostin V
@@tienhungnguyen1412 I hate to explain it but that was a joke ;d Degen is widely known as one of the most broken units and personalized powercreep (before Waltuh release), and I find it funny that almost literally the only thing I'm using her for since getting her is basic trash.

Like me for example, otherwise I wouldn't play with her. So feel free to play with whoever you want and enjoy your time ;)
@@DrSilvergun It's definitely hit count, 3 for this stage, as both Rangers and Eyja (with res ignore module) trigger the blight effect in that number of hits. So this is more a case of "EN can't translate" (or is it "CN can't write accurately"?), as it's description says it molts (loses stats) based on " a certain amount of damage taken", not hit count >.
Who would have guessed that an enemy that looks like a wet mop would hit like a wet mop? Also Silvergun have you ever considered doing speedrun clears instead of low operator clears for a challenge or is it just not appealing enough?

This is probably the most disappointing event boss so far for me. I havent watched CN but I am guessing the flying drones are gonna be the most annoying part the other two stages (they already messed with my fps).
