"The Legend Of Mother Swan" [English translation:] Once upon a time There was a bottomless blue lake At the end of the world with An uninhabited beautiful land When the spring time came The migrant birds returned to the lake flying and singing From far far away place The old father lake was waving joyfully When he saw his offspring, all grown up He rejoiced all day long He sang all night long The time flied swiftly Here came the middle of summer What beautiful happiness How joyful his waves There was a female swan hadn't found her lover She searched for him endlessly and found him lastly They were delighted in their late found love They loved each other as nothing else matters A happy news of expecting came Promised each other to be together forever Married in their father lake, love and happiness followed Seven offspring were born to them How beautiful was life How tasty was happiness The sun goes down, here came the chill The moon goes dark and hides behind the clouds Fierce cold came and the water body chilled Frozen the streams and the whole earth It was time to travel back to warm land, but her cygnets were too young They tried so hard to fly with half grown feathers She took her young ones under her wings to save them from coldness Sacrificed her life and left this world As the fire of her eyes quenced her tears stayed pouring As the last breath left her body her heartache was still there Died in her tears for half-grown feathers The Mother Swan Departed in lullabying between sleeping and awake The Mother Swan
You look emotional my friend . I'm the same with the Hu , it just hits you in the stomach. The mother Swan is an emotional song. Good review. Shout out from Glasgow, Scotland.
This is much closer to the sound of traditional Mongolian music - I've lived is Mongolia and been to concerts with various types of music on Mongolian instruments - Western classicla, jazz, rockas well as Mongolian traditional. Unfortunately I never saw The Hu when I was there.
I accidentally discovered this band 2 days ago. Eventhough I don't understand what they are saying, I love the sound, the beats of their music and their style. This particular song is my favorite one, so far. But, wolf totem I think it's called, is a close second. It's always nice to explore other countries music. I really like the HU. Rock on!
This song is more like story telling in Mongolia ( Tuuli hailah ), Тууль хайлах. When our story tellers do Tuuli hailah they do with musical instruments. (Tuuli)s are too long that it would even take a month to over and they even used to do that nights and days whithout rest. I really don't know about now but our ancestors did it without rest.
The world is so wide and we have so much access to exploring it's many cultures, so why should we have to consign ourselves to listening to pop radio and watching The Office? I feel damn good when I hear this song.
My mom died a week ago. I need to think about her when listening to this. She was so sweet and loving. She died unexpectedly after a dialysis complication in hospital. I am still crying.
Proof that MUSIC is a universal gift that unites us as a species, despite what divides us (culture, religion, language. etc). We can always hear the music created regardless of the vocals or lack of them the music is the central element, whether we really listen to it is another issue in and of itself. Knowing the lyrics makes the song even more meaningful but it is beautiful all on it's own even if you never knew the lyrics. Here you can picture the Mongol armies sitting around campfires as they roam across Asia and Europe passing on these lessons and cultural values, family, sacrifice and dedication as well as the cycle of life and your part in it. This band creates a sound that stay locked in your head long after the music ends. Great reaction and review and while I agree the music is tribal, it is not to the exclusion of others, here you can appreciate the music no matter your tribe!!
Because music truly is the gateway to the soul, we can understand each other, our different convictions, our emotions, and our different beliefs and paths through life via music... If someone were say, a Mongolian pagan, we would struggle to understand that, it would be alien. But, if the Mongolian pagan were to write a song, and pour his heart into it, we would understand what his religion means to him, and then we would be able to feel what he feels through the gift of empathy. All of a sudden things aren't so alien or indecipherable anymore. Music creates a neural link between mean and you, and the pagan. It creates a bridge. It is miraculous really when you think about it. I don't know if there is a god or not, but the very fact music exists, and it's uncanny ability to form invisible links, comes close to proof for me.
Hey Night Wish... I think you are Dutch as me... but so damn proud we form a community in time that appreciates so much more then just one band... I saw Ann Waychof on Pink Floyd reactions, I saw so many Nightwish fans on Henk Poort reactions, yeah I even saw so many reactions from NW fans on Anita Meijer... Maybe it is just good taste, maybe it is just a big heart and a bf soul... Always proud of your great and intelligent reactions!
My mom died 2/weeks ago. Unexpectedly after dialysis her heart stopped beating. I am still crying. I miss my mommy so much. It was a shock. She was sweet and loving. I miss my mom so much

This song had tears streaming down my face at the concert, THEN I read the translated lyrics. ;___; Anyone else? I wouldn't have thought a metal band would do that to me, but it's more of a sweet lullabye than a thrasher.
If you like this group, I'd suggest you watch "HU's in the Kitchen." It's a 10 part video series of the band and their management team on the road. It really gives you an insight to their personalities. I really enjoyed watching them.
Thanks for that Reaction video! It was an honest video, unlike others, with no bias or mentioning of "chinese" or the "Great Wall" thrown in. Cheers mate!
IN THE US TODAY MOST KNOW OF OUR HISTORY BEGINNING IN LATE 1700S WHILE THIS GROUP SINGS IN REVERANCE OF A TIME OF THEIR PEOPLE THOUSANDS OF YEARS AGO., PART OF THIS VROUPS GREATNESS IS THAT THEOBJECT OF THEIR MUSIC IS BY VOICE E PRESSIONS.
