Its mongolian throat singing. I wanna make an american cover of this song using ur basic electic guitars and drums and base butnkeeping the throat singing and language. That would be dope
I'm a big fan of The Hu. These guys have been to uni to get degrees in Mongolian classical music. They were already Mongolian cultural treasures BEFORE they decided to go mad and invent Mongolian Metal. And you should have looked at the video with the lyrics. Basically, it's about how The Hu ( the people of the Great Khan) will fight you until you die a horrible death. No retreat, no surrender. You want a fight to the death? Well come and get it! Go read the lyrics! The Hu's music will put hair on Travis's head.
how come so many fake facts, they did not invent mongolian metal, we had these bands 10 years ago already. different , but metal. its just the hu (fantastic) gets so much attention now, deserved ofcourse.
@@streetready9748 they speak Mongol natively, they went to uni to learn both western and Mongol classical musics. Jaya's actually a highly awarded conservatory flute professor when he's not doing the Hu gig. So yeah, they're seriously professional instruments. Though they didn't quite invent Mongol metal, either, check out Tengger Cavalry and Nine Treasures. But the Hu are the best!
Remember: China didn't build The Great Wall as decorative piece, religious monument: IT WAS BUILT TO DEFEND CHINESE FROM THE MONGOLIANS under the leadership of GHINGHIS KHAN. Mongolian throat singing is called Karkyraa and Khoomei . It's done more using the throat and vocals chords and it's much more difficult than "fry vocals" because the demand it's constant. That horse head instrument is called Morin Khuur ( horse head fiddle) . Next one, like a "guitar on steroids" is called Tovshuur (Mongolian traditional guitar). The Hu said they are created new genre then they called that Hunnu rock.
Yeahhh kinda... But actually from the Huns. The leader was Modun Shanyu. The Huns are basically the ancestors of Mongolians. But Genghis Khan was not even born yet.
wrong, when the wall was built Chinggis (Tiemujin ) hadnt been born. there was no so called China or Chinese. it was a bunch of different countries with different peoples that later formed the nation
Hey guys, That is not a guitar. That instrument called Tovshuur very ancient Mongolian instrument used before the battle. They are reviving some old forgotten instrument that my ancestors used to rise their warriors blood before we took over half of the world. Thank you for watching. ✊🏽🙏🏼🙏🏽
Mongolia. Those harmonics are actually from the same singer as the low drone. After their last concert here, our houses were burning, our livestock was gone and our daughters were pregnant.
The motorcycles are the iron horse... the modernization of of the traditional Mongolian horsemen. I got a chance to see them in concert a year ago. Amazing musicians!
Welcome to the wonderful world of Mongolian Rock/Metal & the art form known as "Throat singing".. I have been listening to The Hu before they even got popular. I was doing research on throat singing for an essay.. I have even learned some of the fundamentals on how to throat sing in the process.. :).
I was lucky enough to discover these guys nearly 18 months ago, following their rise and tour dates, l was super lucky to see The HU live at their final Concert worldwide at Brisbane Australia March 17 2020. I drove a 4000km round trip to see em. HU HU HU HU
The Hu is a Mongolian band. The way they sing and the sound they make is called "throat singing". Its Mongolian traditional music and chants, but when u add little bit of rock sound it becomes rock lol. I have heard people tell me that Mongolian throat singing sound like some folk rock song wayy before they heard the HU. The instrument they are using is horse headed Fiddle ( morin khuur) and other one is called Tuvshuur its form or lute not a guitar. Thank you for taking interest in our culture and reacting. It mean a lot.
Am important factoid for you.... you should always turn on subtitles for the Hu band. They go through a lot of effort to include a translation into English so that non Mongolian listeners will understand the context
I have loved Mongolian Throat Singing ever since I was a kid. I also ended up loving Metal. When I heard The HU on Apple Music a few months ago I feel in love.
the motorcycle "gang" modern mongolian warriors. The "cello" like instruments are called horse head fiddles for obvious reasons. This song is a warning... if you come with 10 we will meet you with 100
What did you do with Suzi?😜 This song is so badass! That is Mongolian throat singing. I love the exotic instrumentation. I would love to see these guys in concert when they are able to tour again!
Mongolian throat singing is the technique called. You should also listen to Tengri with the song Heaven where 2 of these guys are doing the introduction of an amazing song.
The instruments in use here are traditional Mongolian instruments. The Horse-head fiddle is the only musical instruments ever awarded World Heritage status as a Cultural Icon. It is called a Mohin Khuur. There is a bass version called an Ihk Khuur. The guitar like instrument is a long necked 3 string lute called a Tovshuur. All members of the band hold Master of Music degrees. There are four fulltime members in the band, and four part time members. The 'bikers' are actually a choir. HU is Mongolian for 'HUman'. They are Covid stranded in Sydney, Australia atm. Very nice people.
@@jamescurfman3284 Nobody knows for certain what ethnicity the Huns were, some say turkic, some sarmatian and some mongolian or other central asian people.
They sound even better live. All 4frontmen can throatsing. Worked concerts for a few years doing security, and The Hu surpassed Metallica and Elton John when I saw them in Boston - although I suspect Nightwish next Oct might be the new peak. The Great Chinggas Khan might be a great next step... then Yuve Yuve Yu. Have yet to hear a bad song from them, the whole Gereg record is tremendous so really pick anything.
Hello guys i just watched your reaction video. The Hu is from Mongolia. About that singing we call THROAT SINGING it's Mongolian cultural singing style. and that all instrumentals are all Mongolians that long one with the horse head too!!! just about the guitar i heard they just created. Enjoy Guys by the way The Hu released new song yesterday if you guys interested ....
The meaning of cavalier in front of motarcyclers is " Traditions before modernity ". If you have time guys go watch documentary about " mongol Empire" or " Genghis Khan " if you don't know any thing about it :)
Please. At this point of internet, you should know by now, when someone you see look like Asian, he or she is not simply Chinese. Please don't say that, if you know China, at least should know how Chinese sound like, do you ? Sorry, if i sound upset. But i am. I know how German sound like, how Spanish sound like, how French sound like, how Greek sound like, how Russian sound like, how Bulgarians sound like, how Checkoslovakian sound like, how Polish sound like, how Georgia sound like....you name it, i can recognise them. My point is ,please just be a bit careful before you paint everything by China.
So the instrument is not Chinese instrument. It is Mongolian instrument. It called Morin Khuur. Legend of man created after his belowed horse. Not everything Asian is Chinese. 😅
Mongolian throat singing! My understanding of this particular song is that it is actually a war chant. The bow played string instrument you hear translates to horsehead fiddle. I recommend checking out the version they did with Jacoby Shaddix from Papa Roach. It has a slightly more modern feel and sound. The very first time I heard this song I felt the urge to invade my neighbors home and pillage their fridge.
The bikers are the real deal. Mongolian biker club, THE club in mongolia. They are friends and Dashka asked if they would do the video. That opening rif when the credit prodtion is their voices only. No instruments at all.
They are from Mongolia and Russian Siberia. The American Indians are originally from that region. There are still several million American Indians that roam freely over Siberia and Mongolia in teepees and horses.. That why they had that Indian look on this video. They are related to the ones in the USA
I love music like this because I had cds of Tibetan and Mongolian throat singing,Japanese tango drums,Native American flute and drums other indigenous music so I love the mixing with metal
This band is a Mongolian band! Not a chinese one. Please, Mongolians are so much different than the chinese. The instrumente are all our traditional Instruments called Morin khuur.
The Great Chinggis Khan next! The singing is Mongolian throat singing. The 2 string bowed instrument is a Morin Khuur and the 3 string guitar like instrument is a Tovshuur. They're an 8 piece band: 2 morin khuurs, a tovshuur, guitar, bass, 2 drummers, and a flute/jaw harp. Seen them live, can't wait to see them again sometime.
The Hu is Mongolian band. Check out their soundtrack to the Star Wars Jedi game Fallen Order or colab with Lzzy Hale: Song of women. They are sooo awesome. It feels like all their songs are alive, have a soul or something... When I listen to their songs I have goosebumps.
there is no Blend! there is no guitar! there is no Chinese! it's all pure Mongol, and pure Mongol instruments! not a Mongol myself, but observe carefully. hahaha what guitar? does it look like Guitar? and different language he says... what do you expect.
most Mongolains are Chinese, especially the Kharchins. But I get what youre saying. it's safer to put that this has nothing to do with the Hans, instead of the Chinese
You should check out their Song of Women. There are two versions of it: one entirely in Mongolian (it's an ancient poem from a warrior to his lady at home), and another featuring Lzzy Hale with new English lyrics. The latter was released on Mother's Day last year.
