👉The Hu: This band was founded in 2016. The syllable Hu in the band name is the Mongolian root for the word human. The band name roughly translates as 'the people'. The band's logo shows a snow leopard. The band chose this animal because of its mythical significance. Among other things, it is said to be a symbolic animal for ancient Mongolian tribes. The four members of the band, Gala (Singer), Jaya (Singer), Enkush (Mongolian horse head violin, Undertone singing) and Temka (Mongolian Gitarre), all have degrees in music from the Mongolian State Conservatory. Jaya teaches there under his real name G. Nyamjantsan. The HU have modified and strengthened their instruments, which were mostly played sitting down. The Hu call their style of music Hunnu Rock. They use traditional Mongolian musical instruments such as the horse head violin, the Mongolian guitar and also employ traditional Mongolian undertone singing. The HU have modified and strengthened their instruments, which were mostly played sitting down. From the field of heavy metal they mainly borrow the hammering basses for their music. The Hu are so amazing live! like 8 people on stage and 7 of them throat singing and all of them playing different instruments... And the best is that even if you can't understand a word, you can always shout "Hu! HU!..." in almost every song because of the steady base rythm. It feels so good when the whole audience rides on that primal atmosphere

I've said it before and I'll say it again, they have the most badass looking traditional and non-tradition instruments in rock/metal Glad u did this one FVM! Fusion of styles can be sooo powerful I wish bands like this would be better recognised by media . People should dare more mixing and matching styles vocals techniques and random sounds.. we need it now more than ever

Hi Molly!! Curiosity: The instrument Morin Khuur, is very prominent in the band, it usually has a sculpture of a horse's head on top and its strings are traditionally made with horsehair, and these beautiful "choros" are an attempt to imitate sounds of horses neighing through the Mongolian prairies, an animal symbol of the traditional peoples of this beautiful country. Something the band tries to bring is the fusion of their country's traditions with modern music. Congrats on the amazing reaction...again!

These guys are awesome live, saw them open for Halestorm. They call their sound, 'Hunnu rock'. 'Hu' is inspired by the ancient Mongol/Turkic Hunnu empire 4 members and 4 touring members. Gala and Enkush on Morin Khuur and throat singing. Jaya - throat singing, Tumuur Hhuur (jaw harp), Tsuur(end blown flute) Temka- Tovshuur. Touring members: Ono- percussion Jamba -guitar Davaa- bass Odko- drums. This song was one of several that were redone with new English lyrics and guest singers. This one with Jacoby Shaddix (Papa Roach). Also try Song of Women with Lzzy Hale (Halestorm), and Yuve Yuve Yu, either original or with Danny Case (From Ashes to New)

Beautiful reaction and analysis, Lolli. I knew you would enjoy this. The Hu are fantastic, and live they are incredible, one of my favorite concerts I have attended. When I saw them they performed a tune, "Black Thunder", from their latest album. At times there were 6 men throat singing in unison and it sounded immense. I recommend watching the music videos, parts 1 & 2, they are better than many movies. Being so dramatic probably means it would make for a good reaction video, however. For a reaction, I recommend the acoustic studio performance of "Shireg Shireg". It's a beautiful song, and gives opportunity to see the gentlemen up close.

Sooooooo glad you finally got around to these guys. I never knew I needed Mongolian heavy metal throat singing in my life but apparently I did. I see them every time they're performing within a couple of hundred miles of me. Their energy in concert is amazing. They do a collaboration with jacoby shaddix in this song and it's great. My favorite is Yuve Yuve Yu, it's kinda bluesy and the video is incredible. If you're really interested in their technique you should look up info on the individual singers. They are each proficient in at least one technique, the lead singer is prominent in each category of throat singing

The Hu have a song "Song of Women" on their first album. Prior to their US tour, they contacted Lzzy Hale wondering if she would be interested in writing related English lyrics over their music and perform the fusion with them. There is a BTS video where both sides, Lzzy and the Hu, explain the importance of women to them. It is somewhat of a spoiler if you think you might want to react to the result of this fusion first, so you can easily find a link to the video. Here is the BTS video: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-JlKctwH3FJw.html

I've used false folds like a throat clearing to growl the sax for years. I've tried moving it down. It changes the sound but also makes it much easier., with no tension. I think my voice teacher is back at our learning center tomorrow. I'll have ro talk with him about this during our lesson. I mentioned it to him before he left and he's excited to talk about it. His wife just had their first child, so he has been out for a week. Peace
