Heep and Saxon are a dream tour for me. I went to two shows - Patchogue and Glenside. Heep's live performance really impressed me. I was already a big fan, but this made me an even bigger one. Saxon were also terrific and mixed up their setlists at the two shows. So glad they both came to the US.
Neither of these tours are coming close enough for me to go, but I saw an EPIC concert on Sunday night. Judas Priest brought Sabaton with them to the Civic Center in Mobile, AL, and it was glorious! I was there with my older brother and one of my nephews. It was my nephew's first concert. It was my first time seeing Sabaton, and their first time playing down here. I was extremely excited to finally get a chance to see them, and they fully delivered. I also think Sabaton were surprised at how many fans they have down here. They expected to be completely unknown, but we gave them a very warm and enthusiastic welcome. Even people who didn't really know much about them came away completely blown away. Sabaton were a super-tight metal machine, even when they'd mess with each other and joke around on stage. Their set list was a total best of list. All killer, no filler, and no prisoners taken. My brother and my nephew were both totally impressed. Tee shirts were $50 each, which is crazy, but I did break down and grab a Sabaton tour shirt. They earned every penny. Judas Priest were great, which was no surprise. Halford sounded fantastic, just hitting all those high falsetto notes with no problem. To do what he can still do on stage is just astounding. I was pretty happy with the set list too. Hearing "Sinner" and "Saints in Hell" made me very happy. My brother was disappointed that they didn't do "The Ripper," but Priest could play for three hours and still not get to all of their great songs.
So enjoyed seeing all of you and sharing the concert experiences. I will just be able to stay close to home and take care of myself , Have seen Saxon 3 times and Armored Saint twice. Queensryche and Uriah Heep I have not ever seen. Enjoy the music certainly and seen videos of shows. Cheers
Sorry we made you nervous Rob! When I approached you and Chris I said “The Hudson Valley has invaded Long Island “! All of a sudden Lynne appeared out of nowhere! I was starstruck. Then the next week I chatted with Chris again at the Saxon show. You guys are all great. Both shows were perfect!
I'm only 5'1", so I can relate to Lynne when it comes to getting a good view at concerts. I have to be as close to the front as possible or else I can't see anything because almost everyone is taller than me! Saxon is one of those bands I gotta see live one day. Their latest album, 'Hell, Fire and Damnation,' is incredible!
Saxon and Uriah Heep was an absolutely outstanding concert, one of the best shows I’ve seen in a small venue in a long time. Bonus was running into Pete and Lynne on the street in Peekskill, and meeting Nick Franco and Ryan Skow between sets…
PeteT. / agreed, met, spoke and had a conversation with all 4. Four tremendous people . I was going to meet up with Pete at Starland Ballroom for Queensryche/ my 17 yr old daughter got injured late in a softball 🥎 game. So, I missed. Great you met them 👍💯
Saw the St. Louis ‘Ryche show. Took my buddy who hadn’t heard any of the Todd era-nor any Armored Saint. Blew me away hearing all those. And I love that Lynn went from “It’s not Queensryche, I haven’t heard any of the new stuff” to “Holy shit” during the last couple years.
I saw Queensryche/Armored Saint in Toronto and Kitchener. Both shows were great, loved hearing The Warning in its entirety, one of my favorite albums of all time. Both bands sounded amazing. Todd really does a fantastic job with the older songs.
Just saw them at St. Charles, IL. Heep was on first and absolutely crushed it! They sound so good and are obviously having a great time. Saxon came on and it didn't seem as good. New songs are great. Lots of fans left after Heeps set.
I saw the Boston show. Saxon did not disappoint. What an amazing kick ass live show. As along time fan I missed Paul but Biff just controls the crowd and is a bona fide rock god in my view. Heep were very impressive ..not a bad tune in their set. Was impressed how much I liked their set. I really only knew the Demons record
I saw Judas Priest, Saxon and Uriah Heep in Frankfurt, Germany about a month and a half ago. A sold out Festhalle (capacity 13500). I don’t recall if it was Bernie Shaw or Biff Byford who pointed out that there were 140 years of English heavy metal represented on the stage that night. Unless you were to also have Sabbath there, you don’t get more old skool than that. They were all good, but I’d say Heep were my favourite performance. The Priest set got a bit meandering at times. Highlight of the night: the crowd singing along to Lady in Black.
Just saw the Saxon/Uriah Heep show last night here in Indiana and I thought it was very well done. The venue was maybe half full and Biff made a few references to that but we were all into the music for sure. They both played very heavy sounding and kept us engaged. I went more for Saxon but I always enjoyed Uriah Heep
Saw queensryche last week at the paramount along with armored Saint. They killed it, the Warning was one of the best live tracks I’ve seen and operation Mindcrime as the encore was a great surprise.
i saw that show in 93 with the 4 bands. after the Uriah Heep set, they went out to the hallway and signed autographs, i got all 5 members to sign my shirt. great show with my friends.
I saw the Uriah Heep/Saxon show which was fantastic. Unfortunately I missed the Queensryche/Armored Saint show due to a fur baby surgery, my dogs come first. It's a bummer because it was a homecoming show for TLT. Jason McMaster has been filling in for John Bush since Atlanta, so although I like him that lessened the blow slightly for missing the show. Glad everyone enjoyed their shows. 🤘🏼
I saw QR and AS in Pittsburgh 4/24. Both bands were great but AS had two technical snafus. Cool spot was they stopped mid set to sing happy birthday to Joey V with cake and all.
...Queensryche and Amored Saint we're Killing it ! ...they came thru California a few weeks Back ... and Flotsam and Jetsam added a last Shoe to the Leg ..in Fresno... epic surprise
Art and music can be exhausting. I remember visiting numerous art museums in Paris, but we ended up at the Louvre, one of the largest. But by then, my capacity to take in even a small part of the vastness was beyond me. Too overwhelming!
Sadly I've never seen Saxon live & just never been a Uriah Heep fan. Although; I'm going to see Judas Priest this summer & I'm sure it will be really good! Queensyrche & Armored Saint always deliver....the last show I went to with these bands: Armored Saint as the "filler" band;between Wasp & M. Schenker....and to be honest - Armored Saint was the best performance of the night 🔥🤘.
Great show SOT! I'm seeing Judas Priest tonight (5/14). I wish Uriah Heep and Saxon played a show closer to me than Atlanta but it didn't happen. I saw Insomnium/Omnium Gatherum/Wilderun last week and had a blast. It was my second time seeing Insomnium and Omnium Gatherum. Next week, I'm seeing Soen for the first time.
Shows that I have seen at Paramount in Huntington - Ace Frehley, Ian Anderson solo, 2 Led Zeppelin tribute bands at different times (my best shows there), a Santana tribute/Journey tribute band the same night. I was basically dragged to the Journey tribute show, lol.
I saw Queensryche at M3 last weekend and they completely lost the crowd. Todd talked halfway through and said they were here to play the EP and the first album and nothing else. Over half the audience left in the middle. Todd sounds great but at a festival we were there for the greatest hits.
Pete Don't forget I think it's the end of the month Exodus British Disaster live 1989 is out, the sound quality is great as well hope you do a review when out, there are some samples on RU-vid.
Lynne when Jack was ripping on the new Priest cd. Priceless. If Jack is tired of Priest doing the same ol' same ol', did he like Nostradamus? Craig interrupted Lynne while she was talking. Interesting comments from Pete about Todd LaTorre. That reminds me of reading either Facebook or RU-vid comments about Todd a few years back. Someone said that Todd seemed cocky in interviews. I think Todd's turning 50 this year. Btw, is Todd still not smoking? I remember reading an interview with him. I believe that it was last year. He said that he recently gave up smoking because it was starting to affect his singing. Btw, Lynn, I'm single as well. If you ever need a concert date. Sad thing is I like in the West Coast.
Hi JIF882, I have an episode over on my channel where I do my own Ranking the albums of Judas Priest. Nostradamus is closer to the bottom, but I do not hate it. I give them an A for effort. For this new album (Invincible Shield) however, it just did not grab me like Uriah Heep's album from last year did, or this year's Saxon album. Both very fresh sounding, yet staying true to what they both do best.
Neither show came near me and it blows! I love my state of Kansas, but when it comes to concerts, Kansas sucks. We get some good shows occasionally, but not always stuff I want to see. KK's Priest didn't come here. Girlschool didn't come here, Raven didn't come here. It's a bummer. Saxon did come to Witchita, but that's like a 3-4 hour drive. I always check tour dates for all tours I'm interested in and I'm always disappointed that no dates are near me. Gonna have to start traveling, I guess. If only I had the time and money...hahahaha. Anyways, sounds like good shows!
I saw Queensryche & Armored Saint at The Culture Room in Fort Lauderdale. Both bands sounded great, but I was disappointed that Queensryche didn't play anything from the more recent albums.
I saw the uk show with priest in Birmingham UK and uriah heap were good Saxon were excellent and Priest were great - I would say Saxon stole the show overall. They are full on metal and my son from the younger generation said they were the best 🤣
