Imagine all this war crimes got started because three wrinkly old testicles on their hover life-support chair didn't want to drink the Kool-Aid the Ancient Hyper Intelligent A.I. is selling.
Rather, the testicles were upset that the Kool-Aid was meant for humans, not them. They still believed that the Halos were the path to ascension, just that it was ascension meant for humans.
Hey if you think UNSC Say my Name is funny....there is another cruiser called the UNSC Feeling Lucky. Its the Cruiser we see get glassed in the Halo 2 cutscene when Chief "Gives teh Covenant back their bomb". That ship we see just get screwed as Chief flies past? Ya...that was the Feeling Lucky...which turns out wasn't feeling so lucky.
You guys talked over why the first contact was deemed a failure, despite the first contact is made up of brutes it's actually a grunt that got a bit trigger happy accidentally killed a human solder which leads to conflict
Yeh, that might be the funniest part. Although personally I think the funniest part of that was the Humans expecting to see jackals. And getting a group of 7+ foot tall monkie-fied chads and a bunch of little dudes in masks
Well that grunt also wasn't supposed to be there, the Brute captain wanted him and a small team to sneak in and steal any Forerunner artifacts they could find. And in case there are any questions as to what the Brutes' intentions were, that grunt deacon escaped with an engineer, and when that engineer found out the humans on Harvest were farmers, it made some new farming equipment as a show of friendship and when the Brutes found it they were like "This is awesome! Strap some plasma cannons on the side and we can kill so many of them!" And that's how the first Chopper was made.
If you think the loss of 298 Spartan IIIs is bad, the previous batch of 300 that were deployed to the Asteroid K7-49 to shut down a Covenant shipyard was wiped out entirely. Granted their sacrifice wasn't in vain, however, the Spartan II in charge of training and organising the Spartan IIIs, Kurt 051, remarked that if they had failed to shut down the shipyards, all of humanities Orion-side colonies would have been wiped out a lot sooner
Just a note, intergalactic space isn't empty, it's full of star systems, they're just hundreds or thousands of lightyears apart instead of tens. Nowhere is actually empty, the interstellar medium is full of junk too, just not as dense as in a star system. That's where the materials come from, they are already there.
Plus that entire mineral rich moon they left in the middle of the ark's foundry. Although most of that was used up building the replacement ring (04b) and attempting to repair critical systems and structures after said ring was set off. Oh, and building an Army of retriever sentinels that the Arks AI (who was so mad it makes spark seem like a dude having an off-day) sent back through the portal at Voi to strip-mine earth and the rest of the solar system.... And maybe activate the array on the way for fun
The most screwed up part for the UNSC they had the ability to make railguns as rifles , micro missiles , had the ability to Nuke planets out of existence. And still got their asses handed to them. Party because of infighting but mostly because they where outnumbered , out armed and let's be honest ship's that weren't using shielding. Yeah humanity got its ass handed to it. Post war Humanity learned from that mistake and started rearming and fortifying the hell out if their territory post war.
I honestly think that part of the reason that humanity did so poorly was due to ONI stupidity. And not conscripting the literally billions of people in the colonies to fight in the war and not moving to a full wartime economy as soon as they realized how outmatched they were. They set themselves up for failure.
The thing they do not tell you but you find out on the forerunner books is that the species of the prophets (I.e. San'Shyuum) were ancient humanity's Allies. A lot of baggage there but they resented ancient humanity after losing that conflict with the forerunner and then they devolved and became reliant on misappropriated forerunners tech and used to be a bad ass warrior race
It was the Minister of Fortitude who received the info from Harvest (Ord Casto) Together with a junior minister named Lod Mron, and a Philologist named Hod Rumnt, they consult Mendicant Bias (who can be seen in a clip from Halo 2 Anniversary's terminals) who tells them the truth of the Reclaimers. After that they keep it secret, although Ord Casto was never fully convinced humans were Forerunners/Reclaimers (technically the latter) or that the Great Journey was a lie. So they went on to become the High Prophets, whilst Mendicant gestated for many years, until he and the Dreadnought was able to travel to Earth, and then the Ark (more on that, still potentially unfinished story, later) The Grunt Deacon, Dabab, meantime, had to struggle to survive aboard a ship run by Tartarus and his uncle, when they returned to Harvest.
Guess he hasn't learned that in halo humanity was more evolved and hyper advanced that they were originally chosen to weild the mantle that caused the forunner to throw the first born tantrum to commit genocide on the precursors purely out of jealousy and spite
Will say a lot of people make the mistake Pancreas did in saying the Spartan 3 were less effective which wasn’t really the case. Everything we have indicates their argumentation was safer but just as good. The biggest difference between 3 and 2 was honestly their armour. The armour 2’s wore cost a ridiculous amount to develop and maintain so the “cost cutting” measure in the Spartan 3 program was giving them way cheaper armour (still better than what regular soldiers got of course but it was nothing compared to Mjolnir)
To those who want to know how the Ark are able to make the Halos, it's actually very simple. They take a mineral planet from, somewhere, and drag it to the center of it(you know that sphere object at the center? yeah that's a planet) and then strip mine it completely until all forms of material is used even the rocks that actually make up the planet is used. And if you are wondering how much man power this needed? None, it's enterally automated.
'Aliens are real and hate yo-'. yep.... [neutrally shrugged while picturing from the smallest Fallen pirate Dregs to the Patterns themselves] I noticed.
Oh...hey guys. So remember the Aristocrats? Prettyyy badd right? Well, what if I told you that, rather recently, a new sarkic Scp has been added that is ten times more horrific and traumatizing to read in very similar and yet also entirely new ways! (Laughter descends into sobs) It's called "Mother of miseries", or scp 7038, and not only is it horrible, but really DEPRESSING BECAUSE OF COURSE! Sighs...well, it at least had a happy ending...kinda? Idk, define a happy end for me after reading it.
Funny thing about that first contact, awkward as it was things WERE going well. The Brute in charge was actually surprisingly reasonable, and while frustrated by the seeming lack of Forerunner relics despite what his Luminary was telling him the guy had absolutely no intention of attacking Harvest. Problems were twofold. He was old, and his much younger nephew wasn't the most emotionally stable on top of seeing his uncle as weak - so he killed the pack leader to take the spot himself and would go on to attack Harvest without reservation when contacted by High Charity and ordered to do so. Second, Grunts. One fired a a stray shot when nervous during first contact which unfortunately sent everything to hell and gave said nephew the opening he needed to take charge later.
I know this comment is late but the Brute Chopper (The vehicle with the 2 giant wheels that rams things) was originally supposed to be given to humanity as a gift. It was gonna be offered for use as a TRACTOR
Bro imagine losing the entire fleet of ships just to destroy one flagship remind me of a certain someone trying to destroy a certain other ship in sacrificing a metric hell ton of Marines to do it
Post schism i would think the believers of the great journey would find out the humans are the true reclaimers. And they would actually come to worship them instead or venerate their race as holy. They missed a good plot device with this to explain how religious cults would start forming around particular humans who seek to manipulate the covenant survivors to their own ends
for those that dont know Gray team was deployed to an elite colony world back before earth was found, and lost contact with ONI when the covies arrived, with no way home and on a hostile planet with billions of aliens that hate you specifically, Gray team decided to dig a really fucking big hole to the center of the planet and dropped a fucking nova bomb in it Gray team set off the bomb and high tailed it out the same day the end of the war was announced and peace being declared between humans and elites, the planet itself and everyone on it was vaporized, there was nothing left
10:02 If you don't mind me asking a VERY random question; where'd you get the SCP-999 plushie? (POV: Sitting on top of the pug, to the viewer's left of the Old Man Reacts sign)
I mean, they're important because they were originally chosen by the precursors, which pissed off the forerunners, which in turned set in motion the Flood and thus the entire Halo timeline as a whole because if not for the flood, forerunner domination is absolute. Only as they saw their own end did they leave the mantle to humanity.
zach 01. the IOM emperor? what? which?.... ([EDIT]: nevermind. you said 'it' rather than 'his' or something). 02. 'STOP!!! Don't say its name, you will draw its attention to-'. '~oh~ 'Scary'.' -- some borrowed words of 'Alex Mercer''s.
Unsc: reaches is our last defense for The High Ground we're not falling without a fight Covenant who has pinpointed all of the artifact as well as the bases that have been stationed around it: on a scale of 1 to 10 you are f*****☻️🎼🎤🎻🎶🎵
