The credit goes to author Paul Rhymer. The cast members were unanimous on that point. He should be counted among the great American humorists

There were 3, 30 minute episodes made for TV in 1949 and 7, 15 minute episodes made for TV in 1957. Since this includes Eddie Gillilan as Rush, and is 15 minutes long, this can only be the 1957 version.
Treasure as rare as King Tut's tomb, but funnier!
It's hard to believe that this still exists; This is a MUST_SEE for all fans of the remarkable Old Time Radio Vic and Sade series. It is hard to enjoy the humor in this little vignette; you're too busy staring at the crude film quality. With no sets and no blocking, this really isn't a TV show; a filmed radio show is more accurate. But if this is a 1957 filming, it is the very year Mr Harvey died, and sadly, he looks it. "Eddie Gillian" Rush Gook, is an uncanny sound-alike for Bill Idelson. Proctor and Gamble deliberately destroyed most of the radio recordings since they were "taking up space" so let's thank our lucky Philo T. Farnsworths that this little gem escaped their clutches.
It doesn't matter whether this show is any good or not. I'm giving it 5/5 just because it's ULTRA RARE! Thanks to whoever uploaded this rare example of early TV. I just wish it was better preserved, since I have poor hearing so I cannot understand what the characters are saying. This TV broadcast is so RARE that I give it 5/5. Plus, it's a Kinescope, and I love Kinscopes!

probably the greatest writing the entertainment world ever produced and today nobody knows it ever occurred.....right up there with "Our Town" "USA" and all the great American writings of the 20th century

This was one of the best of the best in Old Time Radio - They had well over 20 million listeners per show - the writing was absolutely brilliant. I have over 300 shows and listen to them often. I got a free set by calling yesterdayusa d otcom on their Saturday night live callin show. It start at various time from 930p to 1230p cst. They have a call in show & interview some of the old time radio starts.-rayChicago

I've listened to all the Vic & Sades I could find & while I love them all, the best are always the ones dealing with the Lodge. The best ever was when Sade wrote a recipe on the back of the sacred, secret lodge ritual. Or when Sade was offered a book on proper behavior for a wife of an Exalted Big Dipper. Or when Vic was offered an electric painting of RJ Konk that had rubber lips that curved up into a smile. I wonder when & where this film was made & where it was shown.

@fmazzar It is a shame that such writing is almost forgotten. At least it is on YT for those interested.

"VIC & SADE" appeared (at one point, on TWO different networks every day, at different times) in its original 15 minute format from 1932 through 1945. Then, it was a half-hour summer series in 1946, then vanished from radio. Paul Rhymer, who wrote EVERY episode, tried to revive it on TV; his earliest attempt was three episodes on NBC's "COLGATE THEATER" in the summer of 1949, and this "experimental" version from Chicago in 1957.

@RRaquello To add, I posted some interesting comments from the internet. and certain web encyvlopaedias. The comments are too long to post as a reply, so I posted the info in the vid info box. I understand, tho the video is poor, it was filmed in 1957 but is in kinescope here.
