my favorites 1st: Katniss and Peeta 2nd: Rue and Thresh 3rd: Cato and Clove

The only costumes that I feel are somewhat cool and appropriate is district 2 and 12 ( masonry and coal )

10 was actually pretty clever. Besides that I liked 11, 12 and of course 2. When I first saw 2 I thought of the Greek Gods so that won me over

If I remember right, in the books it’s explained that EVERY costume the tributes wore for DECADES where ridiculous by most standards but where considered “high fashion” in the Capital. Cinna was not only a brand new stylist but very daring in making the artificial flame outfits in 74-75 hunger games because they weren’t gaudy but bold and more warrior like. The 75th games you can see a few other stylists took up Cinnas style in the veteran tributes but couldn’t quite deliver it the same way.

0:45 you might wonder why they used crescent moon in the district 6's style, the moon has helped old seafarers by determining the tides even today. The ancient Carthaginians uses moon as their main symbol because they are navigators

I feel like the idea of the district seven outfit was actually pretty clever, and similar to Cinna and Portia's idea of not dressing them as what they collect in the districts, but what they can make with that item. Coal and fire, wood and paper. I think the execution could have been a lot better, though. Like less complex, more like a paper crane, maybe yellowed.

Cato and Clove would have massacred all the stylists if they'd been forced to wear any of the other costumes.

I was really enjoying the dresses until I've realised that 22 out of 24 of these people died in the movie. :'-(

I love District 1's outfits (btw am I the only one who hates Katniss's hair here)

I actually really like Thresh and Rue’s (District 11) costume closely followed by District 12. This isn’t me being biased, though I do love Thresh, Rue and Katniss and Peeta. The thing the strikes me is how young they look and some of them are clearly good actors because I can see the fear they have. Seriously, I know it’s a book but it’s devastating that kids would be forced to do that.

Only districts 2, 10, 11, and 12's stylists did good job

I'm gonna rank these 12: D8, why, just why?? 11: D4, I feel bad for the d4 male 10: D9, all that stuff around the females neck must itch 9: D1, they have so much money yet they can't make it look good 8: D7, the female looks good but the male is a whole other story... 7: D6, it doesn't actually look that bad 6: D2, pretty badass costumes 5: D3, it looks so ridiculous yet so cool 4: D5, it's actually pretty decent 3: D11, come on, who are their stylists? This is a masterpiece! 2: D12, this takes awesome to a whole other level and I love it 1: D10, *C O W B O Y B A B Y* yeah and that's my ranking

As funny as these costumes are, they're actually a really creative move from the wardrobe department. The stylists are all capital born and have always enjoyed a comfortable existence away from any hardship or poverty like the tributes. Their bubble leaves them oblivious to any knowledge or cultural details, so they're styling the tributes based off of surface level knowledge. The outfits are supposed to be gaudy and tacky because that's the point. It reflects how self-absorbant and out of touch the Capital is with the rest of Panem. Costuming attention to detail isn't always seen in block busters like this so its really cool and also serves as important imagery for the audience to understand the great levels of oppression.

Why is district 8 tribute literally clown costumes

I always thought that the designers of didtrito 7 were very creative since being a district of trees they did not use the theme of branches, trunks or leaves but rather that their costumes are based on the paper produced by the trees :D

i like how district 7 went with paper clothes because paper is made from trees and district 7 is all about lumber... makes sense, i guess? still, i liked it . also, both marvel and the district 8 male are WEARING PINK!!! (plus thresh looks silly in overalls, he should get some bodybuilder's outfits)

While the costumes Josh and Jennifer wear during the movie were pretty awesome, I have to say, the Masonry costumes look pretty kickass too, very Greek or Roman chariot gladiator types, you know?

district 5 is TERRIBLE :O

You literally only know the names of 10 tributes out of 24: District 1, Glimmer, Marvel, District 2, Clove, Cato, District 5, Foxface, District 6, Jason, District 11, Rue, Thresh, and finally District 12, Katniss, and Peeta. The rest of them were nameless nobodies. And Foxface was just a nickname Katniss gave her.

Cato and Clove look like bull’s ready to attack. Glimmer and Marvel are posing like they just won the beauty pageant. Peeta and Katniss look like they just went scuba diving. District 8 looks like a ball of yarn. District 7 looks like they just came out of a paper shredder. District 3 looks like they TRIED to put metal in a paper shredder. District 5 looks like disco balls. District 4 looks like they just found what they had in the trash can and threw it on. Rue and Thresh look ICONIC. And about everyone looks depressed. (I didn’t have commentary on all of them, but you can give me some ideas to add to the list.)
