The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1 REACTION!! 

And it's sad to think that in the first movie Peeta was saying "I don't want them (the Capitol) to change me by turning me into something I'm not" and that's just what they did. My boy deserved better!

People forget that Katniss was only 16. She rides for Peeta because he is a truly GOOD person. He saved her family from starving to death when he threw her that bread. She never wanted to be a leader of a rebellion. She is a kid who just wanted to save her little sister.

Like I understand why y’all are frustrated with Katniss not thinking about the bigger picture with the revolution because of Peeta but like this girl has major ptsd, never wanted a revolution, never wanted to be the face of it and the boy she loves is currently being horrifically tortured and she can’t save him and everyone is pressuring her to pull up her bootstraps and be automatically fine

The scene of the rebels taking out the dam is SO powerful. Those people knew they were gunna die, but because they had the numbers, they were getting it done no matter what.

dont forget that katniss is a TEENAGER, shes still a child! she doesnt know how to feel or what to think and her emotions are not under control.

One of the most powerful things to me in this movie is Fennick's speech. Snow pimps the victors; no matter the age. "President Snow used to … sell me … my body, that is," Finnick says. "If a victor is considered desirable, the president gives them as a reward or allows people to buy them for an exorbitant amount of money. If you refuse, he kills someone you love. So you do it."

I think a lot of people forget that they were still kids. I couldn’t imagine being katniss and being traumatized and then have thousands of people count on me to liberate a nation. And I also really loved the discussion at the end

The Mockingjay has a particularly significance sybolically within Panem. It started with Jabberjays, birds bio-engineered by the Capitol to spy on the Districts and report back to the Capitol oligarchs on things that the Districts were saying/discussing to preempt any talk of rebellion. However the Districts figured that out and instead used the Jabberjays to spread misinformation. This made the Jabberjays useless to the Capitol oligarchs so they stopped engineering Jabberjays and released them into the wild, expecting they would die out. However the Jabberjays mated with Mockingbirds, producing a new species called Mockingjays. Since then the Capitol has hated Mockingjays because they represent something that the Capitol couldn't use for it's own agenda and wanted to destroy but that instead adapted and flourished. That's the reason why the Mockingjay is the symbol of the rebellion and of Katniss.

I don't see anyone else commenting on this, so I will: The edits you make, with scenes, soundtrack and quotes are always well done and artistic. I'm sure that it takes more time and effort that non-editors realize but we appreciate and look forward to it!

It’s so great to see how pumped 5 grown men are getting over a story for young adults (mainly females) I’ve always thought this movie and books should have been more popular across all ages and genders. Loved the reaction.

Katniss seeing peeta just before he chokes the life out of her gets me everytime especially since I read the books and knows what was gonna happen when I first saw this in the theaters with my family 😢 but my aunty ruined that scene for me when she said out loud as soon as the camera shot was on peeta’s face mind you it was pure silence until she said out loud , “ that boy look like he’s on crack” she had the whole theater laughing while I’m just: 😅😟😂💀😭🤦🏾‍♀️

Mocking Jay is almost exactly how I remember it in the book. First half of the book not too much was happening but then the other half was going crazy

This movie was so damn good, it gave us everything we wanted to know behind the scenes of the revolution. Like before during the games the audience was as blind as Katniss & Peeta but now we got a glimpse of the ins and outs and it was so satisfying. What I especially love was Katniss' stubbornness to even be the Mockingjay because it was true to her character, she never wanted that responsibility. Her main focus was Peeta the boy she was in love with because they'd been fighting to stay alive from the beginning of the series, why would her head space change from that? The writers did an excellent job showing her conflicted feelings after being thrown into war, she even forgot about the danger Peeta was in for a few minutes. Peeta being tortured and then turned into a weapon against Katniss was cruel but it also excited me to see what happens next in the next installment. Can't wait for the last reaction and your thoughts on the series as a whole.

I love these series and books because 1 thing they did was show how an actual revolution takes place. The author did an incredible job showing how small actions done by one person can spread like wildfire causing massive change in society.

After this y'all should do the Maze Runner series. Dystopian post-apocalyptic and revolutions. All the good things. Thanks for the reaction.

Just binged the other two videos, as someone who’s been an avid hunger games fan since they came out when I was in middle school I’ve definitely been enjoying your reactions. Just wanted to note that Peeta wasn’t just looking out for himself because he was being tortured- he would’ve gladly died rather than let anything harmful possibly happen to katniss- but because the capitol was using tracker jacker venom (the venom from the wasps in the first movie) to literally “hijack” his memories and make him hallucinate to alter his memories. They literally brainwashed him into a killing machine specifically targeting katniss. From what we know in the books, Peeta is also the only person to ever survive hijacking making me highly doubtful Gale would be able to not only survive but withstand the effects of the same kind of brainwashing.

I think you guys should watch the Maze Runner and Divergent series next. Similar but yet different vibes like the Hunger Games series. Maze Runner as a whole series is better to me than the Divergent series but they’re both good.

While watching the movie I completely forget that Katniss is 17 yrs old. Like she is 17 and the face of a rebellion. She has so much pressure on her to do the right thing but she’s 17 and forced to grow up fast and not even have time to process what is happening.

Katniss spends this whole movie trying to figure out how to make her own choices and not have decesiobs made for her. She never wanted any of this, she was just trying to keep her sister alive and her family togather and with that action people took it as a rebellion. She wasnt a natural leader , people were just desperate for any hope.
