Hughie has the most massive balls. Standing up to both Soldier Boy and Homelander is actually commendable, especially when even he knows they could fold him in a heartbeat.
@@CosmosCatSoldier Boy could still easily kill Hughie though if wanted. He can teleport, but he clearly wasn’t fast enough to dodge that punch. If Soldier boy puts a bit more muscle into it he could really fuck Hughie up before he could really get a chance to react.
for anyone not familiar with those chapters of American history: Firehoses were used to blast protesters who were marching for civil rights in Birmingham (they were led by MLK Jr, who was arrested during the events and later composed his famous “Letter From Birmingham Jail” in response). A few years later, in 1971, students at Kent State were protesting against the Vietnam War. The National Guard were sent in to squash the protests, and they ended up opening fire on the students, k1lling 4 and w0unding 9 others.
Chicken and the egg situation. Did having ungodly powers turn them nuts, or are people who are already nuts the only ones who can survive being a superpowered being? Their world is fucked up and if they have any moral decency then they usually don't live long.
@@tommyvercetti891not much, Soldier Boy in the comics is weak and cowardly. There's a page where he literally wets his pants. The show's SB is much more tough.
@@tommyvercetti891 For one thing he's incredibly dumb. He pisses his pants, literally, in one page. In another it reveals he's been letting Homelander assfuck him for years in the hopes of getting into the Seven.
I always get so jealous when I see him as soldier boy lmao. Dude has great hair, a jawline sculpted by the gods, and a magnificent beard. Bro is blessed
@@badwolf3618he actually fuck up his voice because when he was younger he made a acting choice to forcibly deepen his voice because he didn’t know how much your voice still changes and deepen even in your mid 20s. He did it for so long to were it was a little fuck up till today.
@@bryantlol6152 absolutely. That's why I only tried to point out stuff he was just born with. He's a badass as well for going through the work and coming out looking like a beast.
@@sudmuckand to make it even worse half of them weren't even in the protest. 2 were just walking to class, uphill of the marchers hundreds of feet away with the National Guard above on an opposite hill. I bet that's who Soldier Boy picked out for fun.
Butcher said the temp V made him more himself, so that means Hughie is brave deep inside. The temp v just made the playing field a bit balanced, because in the end soulja boy is more experienced and he could kill Hughie even with temp v here.
We all act like soldier boy is just "a douchebag" but lets be honest. He has beaten and SA'd women, killed women and children and done just about every reprehensible thing that homelander has done. and hes been at it for even longer. Even by supe standards hes a massive monster. Hes literally the same narcissistic sociopathic evil just portrayed through the lens a different generation.
LOL nowhere was it said that he SA'd women. Why are you making things up? Even then, he paid for his crimes. Modern day Soldier Boy had no desire to wreck havoc the way Homelander is now.
@@123LORDOFHELL I think you missed the part where he murdered near every member of his old team just because they didn't like him and gave him up after getting abused by him for years. SB has no desire to wreak havoc? Maybe for a blind and deaf person, sure.
I love how they still kept Soldier Boy being a fraud, like in the comics, but found a way to make it so he isn’t a complete joke. He may be a phony, but he’s still a dangerous phony.
It is possible that not all pf military career was fabricated especially since he shows he is combat experienced. Evidenced on his clear fighting skills.
@capybara9521 Like I said it's possible and most likely he did do basic training before he was experimented on. As it is an undisputed fact that he volunteered for the experimental trial after he enlisted and training is a requirement.
Soldier Boy's punch weirdly enough came across as a sign of respect to Hughie, he has a little smirk on his face Because after all, a man much weaker than him had the balls to call him out
@@dukethegamer1308wrong. He slaps him because previously he said he's gonna slap hughie if he talks hysterically. So when hughie talked shit, he hit him.
Fr, he’s stood up to 2 of the most powerful and unhinged supes (soldier boy and homelander) and didn’t back down. He has more guts and bravery than most supes
Moral of the story: don’t tell people you’re brave with a story about taking the garbage out. If you’re a bullet proof super hero, gloating about braving gunfire is pointless.
@@phantom0-9 There is some the design that reminds me of Black Panther. Also, the original Black Panther in the comics was a white guy on military Spec Ops which reminds me of Metal Gear Solid and the interesting code names they would have.
I wouldn't say he's a child he certainly is delusional and knows the truth deep down but he's definitely more mature and level headed than the majority of people in the show.
@Nihilus1025 he is not well adjusted. That's just his persona. It seems like he is in control of himself. But its nothing more then a bully. Like we seen in cartoony flashback of og Noir. Beating his own teammate half to death over a disagreement. Just because he doesn't rip people organs out for disagreeing doesn't make him level headed. If he was. He would never have been betrayed. They all hated him with a passion. One he created himself. Simply because he got traumatized by his father, who never once said he did something good.
@@weathersama604 I never said he was well adjusted all I said was that in comparison with the rest of the psychopathic characters in the show he's more mature and calmer
It was so funny when he had that monologue about his father calling him weak and a disappointment and then he proceeded to do the exact same thing to Honlander
Can't wait to see him back in season 5, was my biggest hope. I wonder if he fully believed he stormed Normandy and everything, the torture and everything making him see his acting as genuine heroism to keep him going. He feels like he actually believes in what he said.
He fights like it too. It doesn’t make sense to say Soldier Boy never saw action when he is such a great fighter and tactician from what we’ve seen. He is also extremely cool under pressure
I think the Soldier Boy trully is the war hero they told us, but I also think he was precisely the same as the Homelander, an extremelly violent, intimidating, absusive leader who had no true moral compass just ad bad as the bad guys if not even worse The only reason people like him so much is because the HL was the main antagonist, and the SB was working with the Boys to stop the HL, otherwise...
That's genuinely a good question. Likely Soldier Boy exaggerates his exploits, which aren't even that commendable to begin with because the dude is nigh-indestructible. Any Nazis he fought, he did with no risk to his person, that requires no bravery at all.
@@falkets7888 Yup. Like sure, it’s a good cause and they needed to be stopped, but him versus German soldiers is like an army of ants fighting a tank, so it feels significantly less heroic or brave than your average soldier risking their life
@@stachpema452 presuming everything is based on skin piercing. He has saliva. The writers totally want to bring Soldier Boy back and have been scratching their heads as to a feasible reason how and why the fuck that would happen. Now suddenly they are making a big deal out of Homelander aging and that thread hasn't as yet gone anywhere. Why else would Homelander want to take SB out of stasis unless it is because he wants something? He'd just let him rot because he knows he can't kill him and he's fucking dangerous.
@@Rob_Reed Buddy, SoldierBoy and Homelander are guys that are both tough inside and outside. @@stachpema452 well they make shit up lol. I mean Frenchie wasn't gay last season and Butcher couldn't shoot tentacles out of his chest. If someone said last season Frenchie was gonna be kissing some guy in the toilets and Butcher was gonna rip Neuman in half you'd have said WTF? And why replacing organs? Could be something a new character makes from DNA that they put in a fucking milkshake for all we know. All I know is Homelander is worried about getting old, SB doesn't get old, and they need a reason for Homelander to get him out of stasis. I bet I'm right.
I wish that they let all those things about storming the beaches and killing nazi’s were real I get why it wasn’t real about things being corrupt and other things, but soldier boy in my opinion was suppose to be the other side of the coin of Hollander both corrupt Homelander did good for attention Soldier boy got attention for doing good And both were corrupted showing the both sides of the coin are not immune to corruption Atleast that’s how I would have wrote it
The writers were too full of soy and Reddit memes to think of something good like that. I just interpret it as "things may have happened, may not have" as Soldier Boy has PTSD, so lines and details could be blurry. I think writers showing second hand intepretation and memories from people who were damaged with brain trauma was lazy and a "SEE SEE WE MADE HIM BAD GUYS WE MADE HIM".
@@lawofanubis2996 Real question: are you stupid? The concept of Soldier Boy is so simple, it's literally just "What if Captain America wasn't a saint like Steve Rogers but instead an asshole", and somehow you come out of it thinking "SOY SOY SOY REDDIT" lmaooo brainlet
Lets not forget, he shot those priest for no actual reason. He likely saw the modern day engine and instead of admitting he can't help he kills the priest and comes up with an excuse.(The nun naturally snaps after the shock, but she didn't carry a weapon with her, after her first rage "bite" she devolves to just grappling, because she simply snapped in anger from watching her brother get killed by strangers. I can't believe so many people mis-read that scene as soilder boy "being correct". Hughie just doesn't wanna argue to avoid conflict, but nothing about the scene or afterwards proves Soilder Boy was right.
Also his whole character was designed for the show to break down the idea of masculanity and show the flaws in a lot of ideas of masculanity, specifically the ideas put forth by soldier boy. But hey what do I know, I only watched the show and paid attention to its pretty obvious messaging
@@DerusGrindz Inthink what they're trying to point out are the "masculine" traits that feed directly into toxic masculinity, not that masculinity itself is bad. Kinda like there's a difference between feminism and radical feminism. (TERFs, for example, are very toxic and extremist, and extremist masculinity is just as possible and just as toxic)
Yeah, I feel as though he gets compared with Homelander so much and he is definitely better than homelander but that doesn't make him good. Like bro abused his team members, SA'd women, didn't care about killing innocents and built his reputation on lies. Sure when compared to homelander he's not that bad, knowing he showed remorse like a mature person unlike laughing about it like a child, but he still committed all those horrible acts and that still makes him a really bad dude
Love when people do that. You wanna know what I do when I'm sad? Pretend nothing happened and complain about it every chance you get or use it to belittle everyone else's trauma. Sorry, but if it didn't affect you whatsoever then why are you still talking about it years later?
I love how the same people idolising him and thinking he's an actual hero are the same type of macho hypocrite, and worst of all, they don't know they're being made fun off.
You realize that 1. Your ridicule is like a drug to these people. They hate you. And frankly the more i see, the more i think theyre right to do so. 2. I like the parallel of this when you compare it to the scene with Hughie and Homelander. When Hughie stands up to Homelander, Homelander is cut off guard and not sure what to do at first. SB doesn’t care and puts Hughie back in his place

i'm pretty sure soldier boy got his ptsd from being experimented on by the russians for idk how many decades. getting tortured/experimented on for decades without being able to die must really fuck up your brain. I don't think he's afraid of normal nazi soldiers. it's probably more that he didn't want to go fight in normandy. or vaught didn't want to send him there. but soldier boy definitely isn't afraid of some nazi's with guns.
I think they should have made all of what he said true, soldier boy isn’t like his comic self he isn’t scared of anyone just because he thinks he’s stronger than them. He follows orders till his “death. His combat skills are also next level, he knows how to use weapons tactically and has a smart approach to his opponents like mindstorm.

@@znerd3664 not quite, you can argue because it's so far back in history that the real reason Vought was pardoned was not because of active involvement with the war via Soldier Boy, but that Vought would bring over the formula for compound V for use to create super soldiers, plural.
