@Anders ᛖᛚᛁᚨᛋᛖᚾ what are you talking about? Living under danish rule does not make you danish. Finns were under Swedish rule for 500 years but definately never were swedish.
@Tj Z ... The Māori people first arrived in New Zealand approx 700 year ago, in fleets of ocean-going canoes (called waka) from Eastern Polynesian. On arrival (approx between 1320 and 1350) they found it uninhabited, and gave it the name Aotearoa. This means that New Zealand was the last large land mass in the world to be settled by humans. There is no evidence of pre-Māori settlement of New Zealand.
Than you should look to Scandinavia not Poland or Iceland most vikings were Scandinavian/swedish/Norwegian pagans very few were from Iceland this chant isn't even original it's made up look up hakkaskaldyr. It's a Germanic tribes chant the people before the vikings the Old days.
@Novy Honza Well looking at it geographically no, then the Scandinavian countries would be: Norway, Denmark and Sweden. It was commonly Brits and Norwegians who moved there, thus making Iceland a bit of a mix. It was basically an uncotrolled island owned by no one until the 13th century when it became of Norwegian rule. You can't call the inhabitants of the island vikings, since they simply weren't vikings, and that's the actual truth. TL;DR: Iceland isn't part of Scandinavia, and Icelanders can't be considered vikings.
"Almost emotional"- that's got to be the most Scandinavian thing I've ever heard. It really has to be a once-in-a-lifetime thing that makes a Scandinavian person ALMOST emotional.
@@paulevans4334 I studied a bit of Cymraeg, my family is Anglo-Scandinavian but your language is beautiful. I just wish you guys were labeled differently in English, because Welsh means Slave in Old-English.

when they was ask where the chant came from, they admitted that they borrow it from polish handball team fans after they see support during handball game between POLAND and ICELAND
@@Hughleik yes you true. I have to says in polish we had a people who do VIKING. they were named "Chąśnicy" One of them is "Chąśnik". Write in google translator and listen how it sound in polish. Greetings😉

It reminds me of televangelists having 'look at me, look at my holiness, and how christian I am, look at me flaunt it' pissing contests, even tho their bible says that vanity in terms of holiness, and faith (meaning flaunting and making a show of your faith, for the sake of attention) is sin, and will bar them from their own afterlife. That's who you remind me of. Your vanity and attention seeking along with your 'white culture bad' complex is really quite annoying, and just...needless. If you had any real idea of what I'm talking about, you would have more to say, than the same boring programmed insults we hear in the media. Why would I need to care about who I remind you of? lol Thanks for chiming in and proving my point.
Watching this in a time when it sends shivers down my spine with pride even though I'm not from Iceland this kind of pride in your country is beautiful. Let's hope the future will still allow us to be proud of our nations no matter how big or small they may be
@Zefram Cochrane Pretty sure it is indeed as you say not ancient/Viking, and if used by the fans of Motherwell FC then good on them, shows love their for the team and if applied to any other country or team the chant does the same no matter where it originated. :)
Icelandics are Norse as sweads,Danes and norwigians. Hope that all of our European brothers will soon be free to love their people and country once again.
@@WarriorGrind Broadly speaking it is true. Whole world might be a stretch in case of all Europeans it is true. The further in history you go the easier it is to trace someone in history to your own family tree. It is very likely that everyone in the comments are related to all the Cesars of Rome phoenician and Israeli kings as well as to viking chiefs and Charlemagne.
Ikr. Majority white countries aren't supposed to be proud of their history and culture. We're supposed to be ashamed, or at least that's what our media has beaten into us for decades now.
@@Michael-fw6vk I think this is what will bring down the entire west someday we all should forget the past , because it will stop us from looking at the future
"And in the distance the chant of 10,000 strong split the air like thunder. And the grim realisation swept over us like water that this day would be our last".
It's been months since I started listening to Scandinavian, vikings chants. I absolutely love it. I'm Asian and although we have our own chants here in PH, it's refreshing to hear sounds from a different culture. I love the intensity, depth and the power that they carry.
Great video! I hope that we can do something similar in Sweden one day, but I srsly doubt it. Our politians claim that other cultures are more important than our own so..... (for some reason this is more or less considered racism and/or nazism, being proud of your country and culture) And a professor also claimed that Sweden doesnt have its own culture, that it is just a big mix of imported cultures.....
Wow! That’s so sad! I’m sure Sweden has a wonderfully interesting culture and it shouldn’t be allowed to be swept under the carpet and forgotten because that’s a loss for all of us. Change your politicians!
U sweades have history and cultura, don't forget it. All of us European are brothers, and its time that we stand up for our people and civilization, that out ancestors shed their blood to build.
"we will...we will... rock you!!!".... I got such diverse blood... dad is mostly Swedish and mom is hispanic....funny thing is a lot of of my cousins are the same combo...she wasn't the only one who fell for Viking blood in her family...i have a love and deep appreciation for both my cultures....we need to keep cultures alive all of them if we can... its important to appreciate our past... because this is what brought us her in the first place..
Here you can see why no dictator ever tried to invade iceland😉. After so many years, im still getting goosebumps when i hear that chant at the previous wc-soccer while rewatching those vids. Grts from belgium
Be proud of your culture, of your ancestors, no matter where you from. We will only thrive if we really accept that. As Brazilian I'm proud of my country and work to make it better each day.

Im portuguese this dont have anything about my culture but i respect and admire the viking culture and i do my prayers to father Odin.this inspires me it chills me out evey time i hear. Skall viking brothers
No is not. Pure from a racial point of view? Nope. They are both Celtic and Norse. Norse men took Irish wives to Iceland and boom, you have the current Icelandic population. DNA has proved it. www.irishcentral.com/roots/genealogy/irish-slaves-vikings-dna-iceland
my ancestor was a viking lord, but i forgot his name. i am proud to love vikings and their culture because of the amazing things that they have done. and i'm american. but i have a viking ancestor who was a viking lord. so yeah i have huge respect for them.
Mate our ancestors bred with the Vikings, we have Viking blood too! That’s why the British Empire was the greatest of all time, Britons were the result of multiple great conquests creating the modern Briton.
Brad Bitcon True, mostly northern and eastern England because that fell under Danelaw. Although some were Norwegians, most were Danes (hence the name). Besides Icelanders historically have Norwegian ancestry (in fact, almost pure, when I visited I learned that those originally from Iceland can trace their ancestry back to at least 874 AD, provided their ancestors had been living their since the 1703 census). There’s also the Germanic tribes, Celtic and Norman ancestry in addition. England was the melting pot of North and Western Europe. Of course this assumes all of one’s ancestors originate from England/Scotland/Ireland. Iceland has a national database of ancestry given its small population. I also heard that someone originally from Iceland usually will not marry someone from outside, though I can’t comment on the authenticity of that. Database if interested, though only people with an Icelandic national ID can access: islendingabok.is/
The Viking are not and were not your brother's at all. Viking and Celts are brothers because they settled together through mutual respect and wanted to raise their children and farm and their pagan beliefs were similar. Saxons were slaves of the Catholic Roman empire. It was when the Celts and Vikings settled into life the Saxons then becoming british decided to become blood thirsty because of the shame of their cowardly past. While the Vikings and Celts became more civilized the Saxons decided it was now their time. That's why people are amazed with Viking and Celtic history and they hate the brits. Even today people still suffer over what your ancestors did. I can be proud of my ancestors can you say the same? Masters degree in history let's see how Google does!

@@bigdickmcgee3293 In Iceland _liberalism_ is deeply associated with protecting and providing for all of your own people - *that is masculine Viking nobility.* You're conflating liberalism with divisive gender identity politics. Additionally, being a classical liberal allows you to keep a very open mind and listen to new ideas. It doesn't mean you blindly accept every harebrained theory invented by a Marxist gender studies professor or that you automatically align yourself with globalist social-engineers simply because they call themselves a _liberal._
Tübermensch maybe they lack “divisive gender identity politics” because of a consensus among the people to not deny trans people their rights. They have some of the most progressive laws around gender dysphoria as well. So I don’t really see your point.
Chilcoo most liberals aren’t soyboys. I posted that comment because the OP is clearly trying to imply that Iceland is some conservative stronghold which it is not.

Totally wrong Scotland is not the only place found to have worn plaid the same as they didn't come up with Haggis that's a Greek delicacy originally...if you like that sort of thing.
@Dr Boom Correct, I think you you're leaving out Danes and Swedes but all the same a mix of mixes, just like everyone else, just not quite the same cocktail !
@Dr Boom Thanks for the input. I'm well aware of the differences but given the fact that Iceland was under Norwegian rule starting in the second half of the 13th century and that Norway Sweden and Danemark where united in the 14th century and that Iceland eventually stayed under Danish rule until WW2 ... well it seems safe to say that there is probably also some Danish and Swedish roots as well although the vast majority of Icelanders descend obviously from Norse ancestors.
This is what the people can do with one voice, & we are unstoppable. Biblical & inspiring that we are one & you can achieve anything! Our enemy's are beaten before we even begin to fight!

Iceland is the best country hands down they have a beautiful landscape with genetically tall, athletic and buff people with viking ancestors i wish I was born there.
This clip, should be around our Scandinavian people and country, in a normal world. In a bright future we are one folk (which we are) who can do everything and defend if we must.
The Icelandic people are Celtic and Norse. Most people often mistake Icelandic people for being a pure-bred like people but what they don't realise is that viking men took women from Celtic countries (Mainly Ireland) and had children with them. So in essence the Icelandic people are also Irish just as they are Norse.
Alfred 2012 why do people pretend to be Vikings theirs no Vikings today anyway everyone is mixed in Europe anyway the part of this video that had me cracking up with laughter is the guy with the drum with a kilt screaming at the top of his voice lol
