The Identity of Lamu Revealed || Hungry Lamu - NEW ENDING (Playthrough) 

The thing is Larry was a child. Who's brain isn't fully processed and extremely imaginative. Couple that with being turned into an animal and you get a lost, confused, and hostile entity. It's sad to think about the fact that Larry most likely wasn't just "going insane" thinking he was eating fruit but that his brain might actually think that way and he has no way of ever knowing because of how young he was. It could very well be possible that Larry was suffering from a disease which is why the transfusion was done on this poor kid, but his dad, under desperation, didn't anticipate that he was slowly but surely mutating his son.

Then road killing Lamu is now a mercy kill. We actually helped end his life.

Fun fact: Blue cherries are actually a thing, though they're artificial in real life. Could this be some kind of symbolism?

Pretty horrific that his Father would unknowningly doom Lamu to cannibalism and eventual psychosis along with losing his human form throughout the decades according to the papers.

You missed something with the new ending. In the new ending after reading the book, Lamu stands over you staring at you. If you turn right after reading the book you can get a good look at him, he just stands there staring at you at a time before killing you

I think the reason why Lamu calls the blue things Cherries are its cause he's still has the mind of a child and doesn't know the difference between berries and cherries.

The thing that really sticks out to me is that in the Roadkill Ending, the newspaper detailing the incident of the protagonist and their murdered friends is dated 2002. In the true ending, the newspaper outlining what happened to Mr. and Mrs. Bronze is dated 1977 which means Larry has been stuck like this for at least 25 years. At the beginning of this version of the game, when cartoon Lamu goes by the book we see later and the narrator says it was his favorite book when he could still read. How long did it take him to lose his sanity over those 25 years?

That moment when you're casually following along, listening to the lore... Then you feel your heart thud against your ribs because you forgot this was a horror game so the jump scare got you in the end.

Knowing Lamu's backstory makes me hope the Roadkill ending is the canon one, it might mean Lamu's death but at least it's the end of his suffering and madness.

My theory is that lamu’s dad intentionally made his reasearch seem fake as after he did what he did to lamu (his own son) he didn’t want anybody else to find out or do anything with his workings

My take on the backstory. The father discovered something, but others couldn't replicate it. So in classic mad science fashion, the father decided to prove them all wrong, but didn't want to experiment on himself and so used his son instead. The father injected the son with some kind of genetic fusion stuff and decided to use llama dna because the son like llamas. The stuff worked, but also stole the sons mind as evidenced by them losing the ability to read and all the craziness. Then either right away or over time Lamu came to see people as fruit because unlike a llama, the mixture ended up being an omnivore that needed meat. Delusions happened and Lamu came to see people as fruit or specifically saw their heads as fruit. Lamu then proceeded to chomp both his parent's heads off. The skulls are in the cave because that is what Lamu sees as fruit and so brings them back to finish eating them. This story line is similar to another one except the experiment ended up going murder crazy in this one. (Hint: Daa-ddy?)

That jumpscare actually managed to make me jump nearly out of my seat and onto the floor. Was moving to get up rigut when it happened…

And just like that the ending where we run Lamu over became the best ending because we live and we put a poor little boy whose dad put him through hell out of his misery.

If you look into the cave on the select start page, then you can see lamu staring out of it.

Welp, I feel sick. This made me remember Nina from Fullmetal Alchemist and her horrible father. Shou was more worried about losing all the money he got from his job and being on the streets again than his own family. He turned his loving wife into a chimera who could speak but her short life was hell until she died by starving herself to death. Then poor Nina was his next test subject when his yearly review came around. Still loving her father and not knowing what it meant her cruel father fused her with the family dog into a chimera that couldn't be reversed. Even after her father's crimes were discovered and he was arrested there was no way to undo the damage that was done. Then on the very day of the arrest Scar came and preformed a mercy kill on the poor girl, apologizing for her fate and praying that she finds peace in his god's arms. The father was also killed without mercy as punishment for his crimes. Both these stories came about from a selfish father who lose their humanity in their own greed and desire for fame. The only difference is Nina was too young to understand what truly happened and didn't murder anyone, just protected her father out of love despite what happened to her. Now that is quite depressing.

I see it The Lore A father using his son as a guinea pig to fuse DNA to create a cure, but when the boy woke up it wasn't a cure it was a curse, he woke up to a voice in his head telling him he was hungry, The boy's stomach growled he needed a way to quench his hunger, and his father and mother walked in on him they screamed in horror has their son now replaced now a llama creature was leaping at them, He first went for the mother as the father stared in disbelief he told himself "what have I done" as the llama finished he ran towards the father and eat him too as he let out a scream, Nearby neighbors called the police as the llama ran away into the forest, Years had passed by the the young boy turning more llama monster by the day, slowly he went insane telling himself that he isn't killing people he's eating fruit because that is what a Lamu does A very good Lamu No home but the Forest

I wonder if the “cherries” are hallucinogenics that make the world look so bright to lamu

Best bet is that the Llama (Larry) had an illness regarding his metabolism or something, the experiment went wrong and so on

I feel like Lamu being still hungry has something to do in the story. Think about it. In the book, larry writes that hes still hungry 12:47 And at the beginning the narrator says that hes still hungry

If you would've read the pages first and then the book faster and turned around you would've been able to se Lamu standing in the cave behind you. You can like walk past him but once you get to the exist you get a Jump scare.

The red x's on the eyes typically means the person is dead. So the dad could be a monster but he is dead and so is the mom. The doctor(bronze)could be the dad and fused his son to a llama/llama? Explains why lamu hates him and Eric(the dad) was killed by lamu and that started Larry's/llamu's slow decent into seeing humans as cartoon fruits and slowly turned more and more into a llama. If lamu is Larry he would have been huma before becoming a llama.

Llamu seems to have some horrible mental problems because of the treatment that his father did to him. He was a little boy with an big imagination and a incurable disease. His father wanted to save him, but also use him as a lanrat to his illegal researches. He manage to fuse the DNA of his son and the DNA of a Lama (probably because he know his son is a big fan of the Lama story and use it as a reason to this transformation) to create Llamu. If the physical fusion was a success, the mental fusion was a total disaster. The child, now become a Lama hybrid, begin to suffer because of this new form and he got an insatiable hunger. Even if he have the body of a herbivore, he have a painful desire of meat (especially human flesh), forcing him to eat his parents by accident. That was so traumatic for him that at the end, he get a Stockholm syndrome (in other terms, he decided to stay as child in his mind to suffer less than the usual). In the pages, he scribes multiple times "they are fruits, they are fruits", showing that he's trying to persuade him that he's eating fruits instead of people for not having in mind that he's a monster. When we are controlling Lamu, the narrator is actually the cannibal part of his mind who force him to eat people and make him think that he's the character of his books.

Something that no one has mentioned yet, on the first page of the storybook, there was a party hat in red crayon. That means that whether or not he turned into a llama on his birthday, something happened.

I woke up to your thumbnail earlier in my morning and it was still dark in my room, so Lamu's face was an unnecessary jumpscare that kept me in bed for a lot longer than I should have been lol

Hey Mike! I enjoy watching your videos, especially because you’re always so polite to horrifying monsters, which I think is pretty funny. I’ve got a suggestion for a game you should play in the future, if you haven’t already. I highly recommend The Room games, there’s 4 of them and I’ve beaten all 4. They’re puzzle based and not exactly horror, but they’ve got a very creepy vibe, and they’re centered around the quest for a paranormal element called The Null. Although, I CANNOT go without saying this, edit in and put in the title some epilepsy warnings! There’s a lot of flashing lights, mostly in The Room 3, with minor flashing lights in The Room 2 and The Room: Old Sins (number 4). You can find them on the App Store, and I think they’re free but I might be wrong. Anyhoo, sorry this is so long, and keep up the good work!

I suppose his father is doing some unauthorized experiment on his son, Larry. But I believe that the "experiment" he was doing was a failure due to an unexpected mutation into a monster. To sum it up, Larry can no longer revert to his human form and ended his parents' life.

I just now realised! The missing pages in the book, they're in plain sight! I'll piece together the story for you.📖 In the book, when Lamu leaves his home to find food, there is a page missing, right? It goes right over to the part where he burps and apologizes for rudeness. The missing page I THINK is the one that says: "He wants fruit, not some dead duck!" Then when he goes back home, it says: "What Lamu saw next made him strike a pose." The page was ripped out and replaced with the news paper. What would be there normally, I'm pretty sure it would be the page where Lamu's parents bake him a fruit cake.🎂

Yeah I feel that Lamu is the narrator. While this is terrifying I love that this game is getting more lore to it.

I have a small theory of lamus backstory If that's okay..- Lamu used to be a young boy named Larry,(Wich we have heard so far) he loved his mother and the mother is the one that cared about him, and his father was probs mean to the mother and used his son as a lab rat, experiments kept going on until the boy transformed into lamu, lamu turns to his father in anger and has decided enough is enough and kills the father immediately, mother comes downstairs and lamu starts to loose his mind and tells the mother to run but ends up killing her anyway, the neighbors hear the screams and call the police, police get there and lamu runs away as far as he can and rests in the cave, but lamu/Larry was not fully transformed so they wrote all this stuff probably to give the player a hint or a call for help. (I also started thinking that the father killed the mother first than lamu, tbh I think that would be more canny :,v)

This backstory is the same as the plot of Shinzo and let me tell you that's bizarre and I love it. Also what a fun experience this game provides.
