The iFlight Chimera7 rebuild and flight test. Will it finally work!! 

Those 21700 Lions have metal casings. They could easily be blocking your video signal...The vtx antenna is ridiculously short. Im using the old twin antenna setups in my quads though. That said, the newer single ant vtx also works well in my planes...🤔😳🇬🇧

Range is definitely improved by a patch on the transmit antenna on the googles. Try patches on both the top antennas. Also get your VTX antenna clear of the battery. By doing that you should also notice an improvement in your gps sat count.

I upgraded my Chimera 7 to BF 4.3 and later 4.4. Just take screenshots of the of the PID and filters pages from 4.2.9 and match the PIDs as closely as possible using the sliders on 4.4. Likewise with the filters. Those are the only critical settings you have to get right with the frame. Otherwise you'll get horrible mid to high throttle oscillation, especially with the Gemfan 7040 propellers.

Hey, very nice video, nice to watch. As for WS, replacing the antennas with red cherry from rushfpv helped me. Remember to update the software in VTX and goggles, it also helps a lot.

My Walksnail is set to only 200mw...Im using True RC antennas on my Goggles though...Never seen focus mode its just rock solid....all the time....😮🤔😳🇬🇧

I recently was treated for my birthday (milestone one :/) a set of the new Walksnail Avatar goggles, so I bought the TX with the diversity antennas to match, installed the setup on an older quad frame with a new speedybee stack to test it out, and was a bit disappointed with the first results such as, very poor range. So I invested on a set of the Menace patch antennas together with a pair of Thrasher omni ones, and Wow, what a difference. At least 4-5 x times the range of the stock antennas, however I did notice when testing the frame of the quad can block the signal, as going away from me to range test with the antennas mounted on the rear signal was really good, until I turned to come home and the picture froze, ended up reversing some of the way back!

I’m interested in seeing how your antenna modification to a different version will work. And it was actually nice to see you out in the field flying for once versus shuttered inside while the wind and rain comes down.

I've never used the stock walksnail antennas(red bird?)I've got twin Menace RC Thrashers or use FOXEER 4+ lollipop 60mm antennas on my vrx on skyzone 04L's and at 25mw i can do 400 metres without breakup no problem at all,i have yet to find a Field thats longer to test max range on 25mw but ive found its as good as Analogue signal wise.

Nice to see the 7” back up and running! Depending on the rating of the li-ion pack it may be worth adding current / amp draw in the OSD. RTH value may potentially burn out the pack if it draws too much!

That's weird, everything should be doing so much better on that Chimera7 especially as it's a BNF -- I have a WS Rekon35 that does so much better than that is every way, and that is just using the Walksnail pro single antenna setup Just some thoughts and ideas * There has been reports of High powered ELRS 900Mhz radio stuff affecting Goggles, via the long power lead powering the Goggles. I don't know how your powering your goggles so this is just an idea * Try moving the ELRS antenna to the front of the quad, that will help with separation of Walksnail antenna, and the ELRS -- the design of the antenna cluster at the back of the quad looks terrible considering there is so much room to separate GPS, ELRS and Walksnail antennas, on such a large quad. * Try bottom mount the battery, in that way the Walksnail antenna will be in the clear. * Betaflight 4.3 is terrible as for HD OSD, since there is still so much to sort out, might as well go for Betaflight 4.4 Anyway your Chimera7 not that bad, it's going to give you plenty of material to make interesting videos about 🙂

That walksnail transmission was awful, very surprising indeed.

Why are the images sometimes blurry on the side? Is it an usual behavior with the digital video feed? The image quality is amazing, i definitely should consider coming back into FPV someday lol Have a great weekend super daddy and keep on flying ❤

Must be your ariels on you fpv setup, 1.5km was my limit on the walksnail patch’s, so I brought a pair of Truerc x2 patches, and now I can easily get to 7km, felt like they were 100times better than stock.

Coincidently I have the same frame, controller, ELRS and VTX but with INAV, the only difference is the motors, I'm using EMAX ECOIIs. My only issue with this build is the GPS position. It's too close to the powerline which causes interference on the mag. I had to move it to the front with a different mount.

I have tested a lot of the Walksnail stuff, different antennas on the quad, different antennas on the goggles V1 and even on the goggles x, and I made it out on full power 700mw up to 1km before it gets blocky... I must say I am really disappointed with that system.... gonna sell all of it and move to DJI goggles2 .. that's a much better system... walksnail still needs some time to catch up to DJI performance.

There is a m10 gps fix on the eu iflight site I have more than 15 sats up to 20 The video is not good at all The stock tune is very good But I agree its time they upgrade to 4.5

try flying in 700mw and 25 mbit max. better antenna would also work i guess. or its the reviewers curse again und your vtx is kaputt xD
