While the offstoc was bugged, off Handaxe was my weapon of choice. Underrated and underutilized. Glad to see it got buffed. On another note, the Axe of Godfrey buffed R2 used to true combo into just a Light Axe L1, but now it can combo into all the Axes’ L1s. That means you can run it with the Highland Axe for both a true combo and even higher damage. You love to see it.
The hand axe/hatchet moveset was already nearly as fast as curved swords. Basic axes certainly needed the speed increases but I don't think hatchet-type axes needed it. But anyway I'm glad that axes can hang. I thought fromsoft would never get them right because historically, they seem to show utter apathy towards axes of all types. Axes and Greataxes seem to get shafted in the games, usually lacking something to really make them shine and give them a proper identity. Aggressive poise breaking weapons with high raw damage and strong charge attacks seems like a solid niche. They're far from the most aggressive weapons out there but they have some good traits.
i already was using an occult warped axe offhand, damage ever so slightly lower than a bleed gugs. Immediately noticed the difference after the patch. Str/arc builds really lucked out with this patch & dlc, minus spinning slash twinblades 😂
If you can stomach not having a neutral R2 or jumping R2, the Smithscript Axe is the new best axe to put elemental infusions on, boasting between 50 to 150 more AR over the same infusion on a warped axe depending on the stat distribution
@@spacedoohicky they do significantly reduced damage because they're ranged attacks, on top of being slower than normal r2 attacks. They are effectively dead moves in pvp outside of taking unfavorable ranged trades with incredibly slow spells or doing prediction-based skill shots for little to no reward. Luckily, it still has a regular running r2, which if you had to pick between running r2, jumping r2, or neutral r2, the running r2 is the one you would want.
@@YourSponsor I find that strange being that the cirque version of the throwing weapons has a throw that hits very hard when optimized. The jump attack chunks in pvp.
Finally some viability to an underused weapon class... hope you are doing well sargent. Sorry for being absent a long while, the bar exam study and life are ganking the f out of me. I'll catch a stream one of these days!
Hi. Offhand Forked Hatchet enjoyer, here to promote its inherent bleed, lightning speed, and -- mmmaybe?? -- pierce damage that theoretically stacks with the Spear Talisman. Don't fact-check that last one.
Yeah, the 2 axes that didn't need a buff and were already really good 😂 At least axes finally got some respect, there were basically no good axes in the other games, save for a FEW
How does it look edgy it’s just fun to use 😭 I called normal katana users that and I still hate the normal ones but come ooooon. I even got called a “cringe edge katana user” on day 2 using the great katana lol things fun
@@Shendapy I'm talking about the blade of night katana that literally immits a darkness effect on its own without even doing the l2 and has the serpent bone r2
