40 knots is an amazing long lasting offering from xerjoff .

This has been my secret weapon for years now. By far the best aquatic I have ever smelled, my favourite Xerjoff. I have a 2012 and a 2016 bottle and they have reformulated the scent. That being said, the 2016 version is still a one spray monster, the main difference is that the original has a crazy blast of salt in the opening whereas the 2016 is a bit creamier, perhaps better balanced but not as strong. Both are excellent. I'm not sure if they have reformed it again in the new bottles, I know they have for other scents. So happy to see this get some praise.. I was beginning to doubt my own nose

I've had a few wearings of this now , what an absolutely fantastic classy aquatic ..it smells like a luxury boat with beautiful women on board and a sea breeze ..maybe some whiff of sun cream and deck wood. In the far dry down after 10 hours I get a slight floral salty coconut skin scent.

I would dispute the idea that 40 knots is a luxury fragrance, i think it is up to be a good fragrance nothing more. Especially, in terms of putting the ingredients together randomly. It smells very sweet and resinous with sharp vanilla facets, the smell, on the whole, heavy, cloying and you feel like if this ingredients been thrown in together lacking in carefulness and professionalism.
