The Impressions (Leroy Hutson, Fred Cash, Sam Gooden) on the Old Grey Whistle Test, broadcast July 4th 1972.
As the MC used to say - "And now to introduce, from Chicago Illinois on the Curtom Record Label the group with such hits as 'Gypsy Woman', 'Keep On Pushing', 'Woman's Got Soul', 'This Is My Country', 'Choice of Colors', 'Fool For You', 'Check Out Your Mind cos I Ain't Got Time', the Mighty, Mighty Impressions!"

One of the things that made Curtis so great, he didn't need to sing lead on every song. Let the others shine at times...Wow!!

Jerry Butler sang the original lead vocals on this one before he left the Impressions. He possessed a great baritone voice. Another gem written by Curtis.

Leroy Hutson in the middle went on to have a slightly successful solo career of his own also writing and producing all the Natural Fours' sings he was is truly a one of the great ones that never got his just due

My mother had an album by the Natural Four. I played it to death. I loved that album the lyrics and the harmonies were incredible. But I didn’t know they put out any more albums I’m going to have to do some research.

I can tell many of the folk commenting don't know ish about the Impressions..they sound fantastic with & post Curtis. Curtis (of course) wrote this..& also produced it. This didn't get the push it should have gotten Fred sounds great on lead & should have done more! They were also great with Reggie & Ralph..

Thank you, I'm a gigantic Impressions fan and have been (ALL) my life. and remain so to this very day. But, hat's off to you because you honestly (really) did set the year off for me and I am extremely (GRATEFUL), and that is for (REAL).

Yes, with Sam Gooden, Richard and Arthur Brooks. Jerry Butler left after their first hit, For Your Precious Love.

These dudes were great. they were the soundtrack for blk living and movement. Them not dancing may be the reason they didnt blow up like the chilites, ojays and temps.
