The introduction of Abomination was done very well. The camera shots and angles really added to the suspense of what exactly he was and they didn't reveal him completely at first leaving your imagination to wonder what he looked like. Also hearing all the explosions, things being destroyed, and people screaming in the background really added a layer of terror and anxiety to his introduction.
@@LogicbyDesign yeah we know but they changed the hulk so much that we separate them ..this is what the hulk is suppose to be not what the mcu turned him into ..
This movie feels so much different than the mcu, like it's just a way more darker and serious movie. Too bad we probably won't get to see anything like this again
@@anthonygarcia8749 I agree this movie is what actually made me love the hulk ive seen this millions of times and I see nothing wrong with it if its cause of the third act fuck these people cause everyone always say its good till the third act to me this is the most basic third act the mcu has had i love this movie and wish they made a second so mark could have atleast have his own solo movie hell we could have had a planet mcu hulk movie if universal had the balls to make it.
Marvel have track record of hypin shit in the trailer and then disrespect shit outta that character in actual movie ..... korg in dark world , mandarin , quick silver .... and i believe abomination is next
There is something so epic about this hulk, the skin tone, texture and muscle fibers popping out is so realistic. And not only that this hulk look so savage, animalistic and angry but at the same time so handsome some times, and even child like innocent sometimes. Which makes this hulk look the best in my opinion. Too bad Edward Norton had to give so much of a tough time to the director that he had to be kicked out. I like him as the hulk.
@@brandonpayne2877 Agreed Mark Ruffalo did a good job except for professor hulk. Yeah I mean Ruffalo's look is more close to that of Bruce Banner than Norton. However I loved Norton's hulk, I know that Norton's hulk doesn't resemble Norton at all, unlike Rufalo's hulk. But Man does Norton's hulk kick ass and looks so epic in my opinion.
2003 had my favorite hulk because they dove into the psyche of the hulk as well but this is still a very good second place. Those two hulks both shit on the new hulk and I’ll die on that hill
This is not an MCU, it was marvel studio, and doesn't relate to MCU hulk at all. Even that it has different timeline. Like terminator movie series which has more than 3 timeline.
@@heatblast876 bruh where have you been? This movie has been confirmed multiple times to be part of the MCU. It’s referenced in the 1st Avengers like 3 times. The main villain from this movie is literally in She Hulk, and he also references this movie there. The MCU recap video that came out before Endgame literally shows the title of the movie as being one of the MCU projects. The only reason they don’t talk about it much is because Universal holds the rights to Hulk and they don’t allow Marvel to mention it as much as it deserves.
So with William Hurt's Ross and Abomination back into the MCU, I hope this means people will finally stop pretending that this movie isn't part of the MCU.
@@I-speak-U-shut-it he will be back to normal ???? whats confusing bout that? ohhhh wait are you snyder himself then that would explain the confusion lol
Why couldn’t we have any more Hulk movies? The MCU have nerfed him down since he join the Avenger initiative. He deserve to have his own solo series starting with the Planet Hulk story.
@matthew medhurst actually yes. When The Hulk and the Abomination were fighting in Harlem where Hulk used that chain Banner was going to kill the abomination I think choke him out or take him off by the head. Not to mention Banner Could’ve done worse because banner the madder he gets he gains strength to where he could be stronger and kill abomination. Not to mention but at the university fight Banner could’ve easily killed him there
I always loved that scene because not only does he catch the rocket like a total beast, he then intentionally blows it up on himself just to flex, and show them it wouldn’t have done shit. Abomination was a badass
Abomination is more powerful (in raw power) than Hulk because he's exposed to more gamma rays than Hulk due to him doing it on purpose vs accident on Hulk's case. Hulk defeated him because he has stronger "animalistic" instinct, unlike Abomination who doesn't give in to his instinct, and in return, isn't as angry (and thus, isn't as powerful) as Hulk.
@@anonymouspokemon4623 Hulk has the ability to get stronger the madder he gets. Abomination doesn't. Base strength, Abomination is stronger than Hulk but Hulk overpowers him eventually in a Fight
@@anonymouspokemon4623 Hulk has the ability to increase his strength Abomination doesn’t. He is stronger than base version of hulk but as the fight goes on, he’ll be the weaker one of the two
@@ptourraktukuay6584 No, Ang Lee's take was as far as quality in story wise. No offense to him, of course. They could've done just a little more with this though
@@hokutoshinken-chrisarmstro131 And the fact that he kicked hulk away at fte speeds as well for about 25 seconds which shows he had speed and strength and quick reflexes as well
Honestly, it makes sense that Abomination joined the fight club in Madripoor because in the incredible hulk movie his motivation was that he wanted power and to be the best fighter and he wanted a challenge so it makes sense that he is on a tournament arena on the trailer of Shang-Chi.
Man I was legit scared of the incredible Hulk and Abomination. Hope Disney don't spoil Abomination in Sangchi like they turned Hulk into a stuffed bear. 😪😪
This was such an underrated movie. Personally I thought making the genre a monster movie with borderline horror elements fit the idea of the Hulk so well
Ah yes, the times before The Avengers, when the movies could actually have their own tone instead of being confined to "the formula" by the studio. I think this movie gets extra props retrospectively
The Abomination here is 10x better than the Marvel's Avengers Game. He's way more BADASS in this movie. There he look like some bulk fish or whatever... i dunno!
The Avengers game looks like the Comic Book version... Which you've never read obviously. This one just looks like a wannabe Doomsday with no ponytail...
Lil DoeFlamingo eh just because it’s depicted from the comics doesn’t mean it’s absolutely the best version. (Yes I said it omg). Improvise and adapt lmao. This abomination is pretty unique and stands well on its own
@@Ryujinn999 Nobody ever said the Comic iteration is the Best. But that doesn't change the fact that ITS THE ORIGINAL SOURCE MATERIAL. And it doesn't take a Genius to see that this design is CLEARLY based on Doomsday which makes him extremely Basic and UN-ORIGINAL.... The ONLY good thing about this iteration that literally SAVED the character is the Actor and the fact that Human-form Blonsky was a Badass.... Hulk on the other hand, this is the EASILY THE BEST character design there has ever been of the Hulk on the Big-Screen. He literally looks like he could be a 20x Mr Olympia winner lmao. Every other version of the Hulk either looks Like a Buff Monkey (MCU) or a SUPER Buff guy who has NO IDEA how to cut Water weight (2003 version)...
I used to think that Mark Ruffalo was the definitive live-action hulk. I found he pulled off both Banner and Hulk really well. However, I think that as time goes on, Edward Norton as Bruce Banner and Lou Ferrigno as Hulk are definetely better, especially after I saw what Infinity War and Endgame did with the Hulk. The ideas for his charatcer in those films were really cool and could be really interesting. The proof is in the original comics where Prof Hulk comes from, where he's both really intelligent and self-spoken but also very tough and emotional, which is what a combination of Bruce and Hulk SHOULD be. But the problem is that they played those ideas like a big joke. As a result, Prof Hulk is nowhere near as cool as he could've been. Another thing is the action itself. After looking back on Ruffalo's performance as Bruce Banner, I notice that he's not as good as I remember. He always talks and acts in a way where it looks like he just took a nap before filming. He never really seems into the role. Edward Norton plays his character very serious and is obviously very dedicated to the role of Bruce Banner. And you also have Ferrigno doing the motion capture and voice of the Hulk being more intimidating then when Ruffalo took over. There's no silly jokes or dabbing done by the Bruce Banner and Hulk seen in The Incredible Hulk 2008. Norton's playing this character like an actual serious version of Bruce Banner. He's not just Tony's science assistant like in the first two avengers films, nor is he just a big joke like in the last two avengers films. He's a fleshed out, interesting character who really has to go through some internal conflict and trauma, and doesn't just brush it aside with a bunch of one-liners and such. In Marvel( and all comic universes), there are dramatic characters and humorous charatcers. Iron Man, Spiderman, Deadpool, etc are more humorous charatcers. The Hulk, Captain America, Black Widow, etc are are the more dramatic characters who are more straight-forward. So , in the MCU, when Tony Stark and Peter Parker are making jokes all the time, it fits 100%. But when you see Bruce Banner in Infinity War trying to turn into the hulk and instead looking like he's taking a shit in public, or when you see Prof Hulk taking selfies and dabbing, it's somewhat painful to watch. That's why Edward Norton and the people behind the Incredible Hulk (Louis Letterrier, etc) , even though that film has some flaws, understood the character ten times more then anybody doing the modern MCU films. That's why, as of now, Edward Norton is the definitive Banner to me. EDIT: She-Hulk has taken the thoughts I expressed in this comment and pretty much proved them tenfold.
Lou Ferrigno in The Incredible Hulk (2008) is the best Hulk for me. I appreciate his performance in the 70's but seeing a big comic accurate CGI Hulk with Ferrigno's voice saying, "HULK........SMASH!!!!!!!!!!" and doing the thunder clap will never be topped by another Hulk. I think the best Banner is Bill Bixby though, with Edward Norton coming in second place. Ruffalo is probably the worst Hulk.
After the disappointment that was She-Hulk's first 2 episodes. I came here to remember why Abomination was one of my favourite villains. Also Samuel Sterns/The Leader. Oh the wasted potential I wish Marvel pursued with him.
I wished Universal studios keep the Hulk rights away from Disney the way Fox did with them with The X-Men. Had they done. We would've gotten atleast 4 or hell. 5 Hulk movies with Edward Norton
I really like that someone finally says what happened to bruce was a freak accident and that this shouldn't have happened. Like if anyone else purposely tried what Bruce did, they'd straight up die.
Tim Roth's role as Blonsky aka Abomination is very underrated and overlooked. For me he was great for his role and the monster villain itself was very scary and savage in the entire MCU.
This is the Abomination we all love and admire. And now in 2022: (Shrek voice) “alright alright, calm down” I just can’t picture him being turned into a joke.
The Abomination is similar to the Hulk in terms of strength, stamina, speed and durability, and the ability to regenerate. In contrast with the Hulk, he retains his intellect after transforming, and cannot change back into human form.
Ashish Kumar Gupta he cant be similar to the hulk because blonsky took the serum and was already enhanced with hulks blood his strength skyrocketed, abomination is bigger stronger and smarter than base hulk. Even in the comics in one of them it took all the 6 avengers to take down abomination. Tough when hulk is enraged he becomes stronger and his strength surpasses that of abomination.
While I love the whole fight between Hulk and Abomination in this scene, I also love the cooperation between the soldiers and the cops. It shows how they both have a shared desire to protect people.
Also How is it that General has done everything he's done and constantly escapes the consequences? Lies, cheats, tortures, throws away the lives of the soldiers he's sworn to lead cleaning up a combination of personal grudges and his own fuck ups, and all that happens is he's PROMOTED to Secretary of Defense? He kills more people chasing down Banner than Wanda does does by accident by a factor of 20, uses her action to justify the Sakovia Accords, and goes AGAINST the very law he would eventually try and force on others by creating an unlicensed enhanced individual just to fight his private war. FUCK Ross.
HotaruZoku I wish Cap had dropped a line to Tony in civil war saying he was suspicious of Ross’ history. Or something like he read his file and something didn’t add up. It would have been nice to see him actually doubt Ross and his motivations.
Honestly imagine if Civil War had Zemo releasing the Abomination to assist Crossbones in Lagos with the false promise for a rematch with Hulk, without the big guy imagine all the damage he could've done and since Ross created him it would only add to his hypocrisy for supporting the Accords
In the comics, a lot of it was often covered up because so much of what he does is classified. That said, he did go to prison briefly but they let him back out because he's the military's top expert when it comes to fighting The Hulk and other gamma-created creatures. He also has a lot of connections in the U.S. government. But, yeah - in the comics, they've covered several times that General Ross causes as much damage as The Hulk does, and Ross has admitted more than once that he may not be the hero of the story (even though that's what he often believes).
Can we just appreciate the two army guys and cops trying to get a grip on the situation and showing us how terrifying it would be as a normal joe when there are Hulks running around and shit. Coolest scene hands down.
Abomination banging that rocket launcher on his chest was such a badass move... It's like a tough guy breaking a rather heavy keg of beer bottle on his head at the bar just to show off.
If Abomination appears in She Hulk and if he has a fight with Hulk, he will definitely defeat Professor Hulk. We need The Incredible Hulk to appear in the MCU once more.
@dom GRIFFITH development offscreen what a joke, they don't even look like the same character like a alternate universe where abomination was a good guy
I can’t agree with the hate of this movie for it’s supposed “slow pace” and drama. This was probably the most grounded and grittiest Marvel movie to date with the closest being the first Iron Man. I can’t believe people don’t give this enough recognition. Definitely deserves it.
I’m so glad that this movie is becoming more recognized. It has its flaws but it’s a good film and one of my personal favorites. I could go on forever explaining why I love this movie so much but to keep it short and simple it’s nostalgia, this film and iron man was my childhood. Hulk was and always has been my favorite hero, HULK SMASH!
The Commie Yes it very much is. It’s a far more accurate and better portrayal of Hulk than in Endgame and is much better than The Dark World, Captain Marvel, Ant-Man and the Wasp, and Far From Home.
@@tailedgates9 WandaVision is half humour, half dark, while Falcon And The Winter Soldier is more slightly darker, action thriller, and half humour, while Loki is gonna be a mystery thriller.
Hands down one of my favorite MCU films to date! soo great and the Hulk in this movie is definitely my favorite version as well. Hope we finally see Abomination return in phase 4 somehow.
@@pigglesgoomshby7249 Hopefully they keep the green radiating eyes tho. It looked badass as hell. But yeah. They need to change his appearance to his comicbook counterpart. Blonsky was supposed to look like a reptile with gills and fins for ears. Not a poor man's Doomsday🤣
@@I-speak-U-shut-it Yeah and with the comic accurate looks a lot of characters have been receiving lately I’m positive they aren’t gonna go with Doomsday but worse, but rather Abomination
