The Incredibles: "Saving Metroville” by Michael Giacchino (Score Reduction and Analysis) A full score reduction of the Omnidroid fight from The Incredibles. I own nothing. Enjoy!
Something about this entire song and seeing the sheet music makes me insanely happy. I wish I was in the room while they were recording this song, I’d tear up from the overwhelming feeling of hearing this masterpiece.
I'm pretty sure it is Syndrome's Theme. It's introduced when Buddy is and doesn't return until Syndrome makes himself known. Then, it always plays when showing Syndrome's base, his omnidroid raging out of control, Syndrome trying to kidnap Jack-Jack, etc.
Awesome video! I swear to god I've played that "Batman" baseline (or at least something extremely similar) in a bassoon part in a pops orchestra years ago, and it definitely wasn't Batman or Incredibles (we did do a lot of movie score medleys though lol). I remember because the Aflat to Dflat transition took way too much practice to get up tempo. Anyway based on what I've seen here, I give this one a 4/5 from a bassoon perspective, much better than how the average modern composer treats it, a couple pretty parts, nothing super pretty but I'd probably enjoy playing this piece if not just for 3:55
I literally laughed out loud when I saw this. I just watched the movie, because I'll watch the sequel tomorrow. But first I'll watch this. Thank you! :D Edit: Just watched it. Applause to you, my friend. Brace yourself. You're about to get big and famous.
I know you are already working on lots of stuff right now, but do you think it would be possible to do something from the Solo soundtrack? Maybe the adventures of Han? Thanks
AWESOME!!! 1. So how can I get a link to a pdf or something of this reduction? 2. I haven’t watched the whole thing yet but I noticed at measure 24 (1:51) theres some notes in the trumpets missing. (I know because thanks to you, I also have the score!
For the longest time, I thought this movie was as close to human perfection as possible. Now I see that they could have enhanced it even a little more by increasing the balance of the music better with the dialogue, but that's 2004 for you
this isn’t how it sounds in the actual movie, i think the music is boosted to emphasize it. but in the actual film you can definitely hear the dialogue and voices much easier
It’s weird, I never noticed until watching this video and then listening to Bob vs. The Omnidroid and New And Improved that the Omnidroid itself has a motif/leitmotif. My knowledge of music has all but left me now, so I don’t know the actual notes (and I mostly stuck to the bass clef), but it’s the phrase with a half note, then two eighth notes, then two whole notes, though the composition depends on which version of the Omnidroid.
