Hi Nicole! So, I was watching some South African movies yesterday and one of them takes place on a farm near Pretoria (got surprised that so many farmers are crazily religious). As I liked the movie, I decided to watch some youtube videos about the city and that's how I accidentally found your channel. I believe you're doing a great job by narrating and giving people an insight into these crimes and not letting them forget the victims. This was a heartbreaking case...:(

OMG! That Fred got away with cold blooded murder! He's a sociopath and that's why he could pass the polygraph administered by an incompetent police force. Those poor parents of the murdered girl. He gets to go on with his pathetic life while family and friends of the victim lose their precious daughter. He was very controlling in the relationship and after she died, he tried to remain in control over her corspe. This was a great detailed video and I appreciate it. I listened to the analysis of this murder on another RU-vid video and it wasn't complete enough. That person said he thought the boyfriend was innocent. He didn't provide enough details. I'm happy I found this coverage finally. I'm satisfied because I suspected it was the boyfriend even when listening to the prior sketchy video. Beware, careful who you date ladies. BTW, he probably changed his clothes before he showed up to murder his victim and changed back into his work clothes before reentering his work place. He slipped out and back through another exit. They know the killer went into her bathroom and cleaned up after he did the deed. I'm sure he got rid of all the blood evidence from his body and probably washed the weapon too. He could have easily dumped the weapon in a trash bin or someplace obscure on the way back to work. I hope Karma gets him.

This guy gave me goosebumps daily after being pronounced innocent. I worked for the same company as he did for decades. I was a trainer at the Campus area on the same premises. Every day just before 4pm, he would enter the mens bathroom. And be there for like +-20 minutes. Security picked up on this and followed him to see what he was doing. He would wash his hands for that period only. Always found it very WEIRD!!!!

Inge Lotz was NOT found sitting UPRIGHT on her couch!!! She was actually supine, with the back of her head facing the door. Her head was resting on the armrest of the couch, turned toward the wall, (wall is on the right of her face) with her shoulders propped against the lower part of the armrest. Her long hair flowed over the armrest and trailed to the floor, under which was a significantly large pool of blood. Her legs were parted, with her knees tucked in, her left arm resting between her legs. Her feet were virtually together. So, her legs actually formed a parallelogram. The magazine she was reading covered her left foot. The other foot was shoved under the farther couch cushion. Her right arm was curled around her lower belly. Her "spaghetti top" was almost totally soaked in blood. She had on a "pajama" shorts - a kind of soft shorts that women wear for bed, I guess - I don't know. She had not been molested or indecently assaulted. It is quite obvious that the first hammer blow rendered her incapable of coherent response. The subsequent hammer blows killed her. She was dead when the murderer stabbed her in the neck and chest, which means, he FIRST killed her with the hammer, then walked to the "kitchen" to take the knife and stab her. (We assume he did this stabbing with the "missing" knife - something we do not see in other You Tube videos). Firstly, her wound profile seems to reflect that a certain hammer was possibly used - it is called a brick hammer. A brick hammer has a chisel-like profile on the back end that somehow seems to match the elongated wounds. Also, the killer took with him (we assume it is a male) the murder weapons, which means he actually needs them! Also, he cleans them there in Inge's bathroom. Why? Why must the murder weapons be cleaned? If you look up other similar cases you will notice that a killer who takes his or her tools with him usually uses, or relies on these tools, to kill again. I often think that this murder could have been a hit. However, given the circumstances, we ponder the the obvious question - how did her killer enter her apartment? It is patently obvious that she was taken by surprise, despite the fact that there was obviously no signs of forced entry. Basically, a time of death can, fortunately, in this case, be easily determined. Ms. Lotz was last seen exiting a Video Palace store at 15:07. We can assume that she arrived at her apartment at 15:30 or thereabouts. We then need to see whether Ms. Lotz's body was in a state of Rigour Mortis, and what is the level of Livor Mortis. We do not know the answer to that. Only the pathologist that performed the autopsy on Inge. However, Rigour Mortis will set in totally over a period of a few hours, but actually starts in the face first. Livor Mortis might be a better indicator, with signs occurring at an hour or two after death and becoming fixed at about 12 hours. So many things happened on that day - In fact, the locks to her apartment had been changed the day before! A group of tilers had actually entered her apartment to do some repairs. She had an altercation with her partner the precious evening, or morning - not too sure. This is such a strange case, I sometimes lie in bed thinking about it. The window for her killer to have entered her apartment was so narrow. It is as if you know answer but it is just a little out of reach...

It seems plausible that Inge had other lovers besides Fred, the murderer was known to her as she let him in, however he took her remote as wouldn't have been able to let her out, so he knew how it worked. It would definitely have been impossible for Fred to have driven to Stellies and back to Pinelands in the allocated time so he is innocent and should have been paid out by SAPS. The murderer joined Inge to watch the DVD and must have been hoping that she would have left Fred and given him a chance and when he didn't get his way, he exacted his punishment on her. He still saw perfection in her, hence he left her in seated position reading a magazine, The reading could be significant as to how they first met, possibly in the university library, perhaps he wanted to leave her the way he first met her - reading and still saw her dignity, he disfigured her so that she couldn't be with anyone else...the guy was close with her and must have believed that he had a chance with her. Inge might have been leading him on as she was either enjoying the attention or keeping him around as an option or both or saw him as her male shoulder to cry on..he saw differently and thought that he had a chance and took it out on her when he realized that she was taking him for a fool.

I didn’t read your whole book but it was indeed possible for him to travel there in time. Even after allowing a generous amount of time for him to walk to his car, from his car, back to his car, back to his desk & driving no more than the speed limit with all the stops and traffic, there was a solid 15 minutes for him to note what she was watching & commit the murder.

Im an IT. The fact he used a computer to send a text message is concerning but also cunning. Why? Well, technically....he could have left that meeting (that started shortly after 1pm) earlier than assumed and been unaccounted for until he meet his friend, Marius Botha. Its evident that he sent Inge a text message, using his work computer, logged in to a cell phone provider’s online platform but its odd, right? Why not just use your cellphone? He was clearly knowledgeable with this online platform so he was likely just as intelligent with remote connection software. Basically, he could have remote connected into his work computer to make it seem like was there. The fact the authorities seem irresponsible and inexperienced prove they could have totally missed this possibility. Then again, not many know about computers and software. Fred was clearly smart so its makes sense why he would know how to do it.

I am very sorry that Inge Lotz murder has not been solved yet; it's just so very sad, frustrating, and upsetting all around! And NOT ONLY just for her family, friends, and all of Inge's loved ones, but also for Inge Lotz herself, and for any of the future victims that this uncaught murderer will come across & hurt as well!!! If she truly did put up a fight & protect herself from this murderer, and yet, she still had all of those numerous wounds, stabbings, and gashes all over her body that were caused by her killer, & mainly to her face, then Yes, this is a very personal & passionate crime! I wonder if they ever got any of the killer's true DNA from scraping underneath Inge's nails since they said she fought back, and if so, I hope they keep it locked away, for long time safe-keeping. We all have been told there was No sexual assault, of any kind done to her body, that had taken place during her murder, AND there was No burglary or robbery of any kind, that had taken place right before Nor right after the murder happened either!!! So then what was the true motive for this murder to happen then?? They should really ponder over that as the investigators putting themselves into Inge"s shoes that terrible night, or the shoes of her killer too!!! I feel, ((and this is all in my own opinion from my studies, classes, professors/ professional case workers showing & teaching me all I know during my studies thus far, so please don't come for me! 🤔🙃)) that yes, of course all investigators & officials working on this case, from the start of it, did ruin their chances of catching the true killer of Inge Lotz then for sure! But that does not mean the true killer cannot be caught still! And if he/she is still out there, wandering free & clear of this murder for right now, well, it won't be that way forever and time will tell!!! Also, they should look into ALL people that had a hatred or dislike for Inge, not just X's of her...but maybe someone that was jealous/envious of Inge, OR just ALL people in her life like that now, or from her past too, that maybe just disliked her even! Maybe she had a jealous schoolmate that wanted to be her, or look like her, or have the boyfriend she had &/or the parents she had &/or the friends she had etc etc. so then they eliminated her during a jealous confrontation. I don't know, but they should have looked at way more suspects, then and now too! B/c ya, maybe a jealous schoolmate, from her past, could have been there during her young school years, studying Inge, and then this schoolmate disappeared for a while,....but then years later popped back into her life unexpectedly! And before Inge could even tell anyone close to her, this envious individual acted out their dark, envious, evil, monstrous and heinous acts onto her!! They just did not look into enough people/suspects during that time, and still have making up to do!!! I just feel it also shows somewhat of a female killer b/c of the numerous stab wounds and gashes to her face, which is almost always a very personal/passionate way that a female killer will go about destroying their victims features & they do so NUMEROUS times in a row. As this killer did to Inge!! Also, the NO sexual assault being done to her body in any way during this crime, well we know that can also just scream that it was a female killer as well, on top of those brutal & purposeful stabbings she made too! And what also is very scary and upsetting, is that this killer was not caught STILL to this day, AND they are out there roaming free from this, but they will probably, most likely do it again. ESP. since there was NO murder weapon left behind, they took it as like a trophy to remember doing the crime by, and to maybe use & get away with it again they might be thinking!!! Just awful and beyond terrible! R.I.P. our sweet angel 😇 Inge Lotz !!!! And please, all her loved ones do not give up, just please keep the faith that her killer will be caught!!!!

I would go more for Fred for the mere fact that his finger print is on the DVD which was hired at the same time he claims to have been at work. His alibis remember were not taking notes knowledgably that they would need to confirm his whereabouts at theb time. Now that i have watched this video again I feel actuallty most likely Fred did this and this is because why would he claim to have been at work whole day, but his finger print places him and Inge's place sometime that same time he claims to have been at work. Secondly I now feel all those calls and texts he made covering his tracks he knew they would look into his records and if he did not cotact her after she died if "he was not aware" why would he then not contact her? Another point Inge's position at which she was found suggests that the perpetrator actually plced her there, and they had a lot of time to clean up and the contractors would have paniced and perhaps left her lying whereever in the room that theirs her struggle would have ended.

The crime scene been walked & touched over before a so called investigation could begin, the bruises she had on her arms that her mom noticed, that she covered up, the bad moods of Fred and fighting, he was definitely very jealous, and even tried to control her corps after the murder, so who is the cold blooded killer, was it Fred, the tiling people or the illegit mozambican workers that couldn't be traced??? Alot of things doesn't add up, the investigation comes across as very weak, surely there could be cameras and much more evidence giving away the killer??? And then Fred's fingerprints on the Dvd?? Same with Oscar Pistorius investigation, alot of mistakes from the police side, which makes me wonder what kind of policemen we've got out there, are they working for what they getting paid for?? For me the big issue in this case was not just the police, but the media. They crucified Fred from day one and the whole public believed it and saw him as guilty before the trial even began. Furthermore they wrote incorrect stories about how his bloody shoe prints were a match to the floor (Which they weren't) and he had a bloody hammer in his boot. (Which he did not) Every time this case comes up around people they mention these things i.e the hammer, shoes and say how he got away with it, when I mention that it actually was not the case and that it was proven to not be true they call me crazy and laugh. It is astonishing how many people still believe the false information, hence why I say the media crucified him and the public believed it and never bothered following the case where the evidence was shown. Some people who I have spoken to, who actually read up on the case are either 50/50 about it or don't think he did it all. I do not think Fred did it, I agree the murder was personal, 99% of the time when someone is killed in that way it is someone who knows the person. I think it could have been one of her guy friends who desperately wanted to be with her but she was not having it and after trying for so long he lost it. I really hope her family gets the answers they deserve one day. RIP Inge.

I never followed the case for many years but I want to raise a few pointers that is very interesting to me. 1. Did fred have key’s / remote to enter the flat? 2. If so, explain? 3. If Inge opened for him, then there would have been a text / call to asked inge to open the gate / door. 4. You need time to complete a murder like this. There is a possibility that fred could have drove there but its a very difficult one to proof although there are some people that proofed it in some way. 5. The thing that bothers me the most, the guy that claimed to kill her, that guy will talk 2 or 3 stories because he is a drug edict and will try and play a game till proofing guilty. Its very sad that they did not investigate that guy on a deeper level. Unacceptable 6. There is evidence that someone asked him to drop his case. This is very very disturbing. 7. You know; when you are on tik, you open doors in the spiritual realm where you give access to demonic forces that can make you do stuff that you did not even think of doing. You are basically being controlled, because you have given that thing access to take control. A tik user will explain that to you easily. 8. There was a force at work to destroy the precious life of two young people. Everyone thinks about Inge’s life that has been taken but what about Frieds life that was destroyed? What if he was not the killer. 9. Why the 2 messages send by Inge and fred that was a reconciliation message, where there was a peace message. 10. The letter , the 2 page letter, can one get hold of that? 11. I think the stab wounds need to be examine in more details, fiscal and physiological.

There is just no way that a sophisticated man like Fred van der Vyver would have resorted to stabbing her to death! Surely anyone who knows anything about crime and the social dynamics thereof in South African society, would appreciate that knife stabbing is the almost exclusive province of roughnecks and gangsters in South Africa! I really spent a lot of time going through anything I can find relating to this case. Fred's fingerprints was on the DVD Inge rented on the afternoon of her murder. The defence tried to suggest the prints, named folien 1, was forged or switched. They tried to explain all aspects of the print to suite the lifted from a glass and not a dvd narrative. They even explained a so called 'lip print' that was made when Fred supposedly drank from a glass in a unnatural (lip sloped, have to hold the glass in a funny way,one 'expert' claiming dry lip and the other wet lip,lip print to big to be a lip),problem with this is one of the fingerprint dusters ,Mariaan Booysens, index finger is a perfect fit for this 'lip rint'. She was a honest witness (not even willing to state that she could remember if the print was indeed folien 1) and in her testimony she claimed she picked up the dvd with a scissor action between her middle and index finger. So wither Fred drank from a glass in some ridiculous manner or the 'lip print' is Mariaans finger in a lated glove. In my opinion there is no mystery to who committed this murder.

How did he get there and do all of that within 105 min when it's at least a 40min drive each way? Your motive requires them to fight, then make up enough that she is calmly sitting on the couch reading a magazine. Then him still be mad enough over a movie to sneak attack her from behind, brutally attack her, stab her multiple times, clean up perfectly, drive back to the office with no one noticing him leaving or coming back. We're talking 15-25min after drive time to do all that! He's not a serial killer with experience either. This is near impossible to do and what I always get stuck at for Fred.

See - CRIME UNCUT on RU-vid to be fully informed of the facts of this brutal case of passion and anger - through scientific and mathematical evidence clearly, carefully and commendably presented. While one appreciates your efforts - your presentation is flawed in myriad instances - while your lack of research, knowledge and indepth facts of this tragic case of the barbaric murder of Inge Lotz, sadly exposes your ignorance of this diabolical murder (anyone can be a good story-teller - but without evidence, truth and facts - that story will always be just fiction) . For example the so called "evidence" of the "lip print on the glass" is in fact a GLOVED FINGER PRINT, made by the police duster, Mariette Booysens left on the DVD cover! Put lipstick on. Press you lip against a glass. A lip has downward STRIATIONS. The proclaimed "lip print on glass" had no such thing! And in the light of this, Fred van der Vyver's lip print was never requested at the trial (a failure of the prosecution and the judiciary)! Wherw is Fred van der Vyver's lip print - to prove or disprove his guilt or innocence? And your statement that Fred van der Vyver can never be tried again for this brutal murder is incorrect. He CAN be tried again if an ERROR OF LAW is established. Better to study all the aspects of the case and to LET THE EVIDENCE SPEAK! Watch the 10+ episodes on CRIME UNCUT. You will find the presentation of pure forensic evidence enabling and settling.
