You should try out this build here, but switch the sandy for the iconic militech berserk. Byakko + berserk + microrotors gives you legit light speed attacks its insane
Now that Short Circuit damage on crit is gone, melee seems to be the new strongest and popular playstyle in 2.0. Excluding netrunning of course. The Apogee Sandevistan and Axolotl combination just provides so much survivability. The fact that the Sandevistan can be activated and deactivated makes it very flexible and ensures to always have slow-time when needed. I do suggest some changes to the cyberware to make this build even stronger in combat. I hope you don’t mind it if I explain them here. Firstly you can save cyber capacity by using the basic eyes instead of the Oracle. The Oracle is mostly good for stealth builds, but even then it is over costed. There are better ways to spend cyber capacity in my opinion. Note that if you want to completely min-max and cyber capacity is not an issue the Deep-Field Visual Interface is still best in slot even for melee builds. The reason is that the 20% crit damage is already strong. With the Scalpel you can easily get 100% crit chance most of the time. It is arguably the best weapon in the game to kill enemies with large health pools, like MaxTac and cyberpsycho’s. I do not recommend using the Proxishield/Peripheral Inverse. Enemies are almost no threat when being up close, because you will be killing them in slow time then. The biggest weakness of melee builds are long ranged attacks, especially hard hitting sniper shots. You probably want to save Sandi cooldown when enemies are further away, but you are most vulnerable to being one-shotted. I recommend using cyberware which provide more armor to combat this weakness. I also do not recommend the Adrenaline Booster, because it seems unnecessary. Against low health targets you have plenty of stamina regeneration with Slaughterhouse and Sandi active when killing enemies. The Isometric Stabilizer is much more expensive, but is worth it in an optimal build. Against enemies with large health pools it is harder to gain stamina back. The passive stamina reduction will result in a dps increase against these tougher enemies.
150k dmg on synapse burn (very hard). 1 shots most psychos :) People shit on netrunners on 2.0 but reality is it's still broken. It's just that you have to combo well and manage your ram. Not as brain dead as before
@@Shupao77@Shupao77 Netrunning is by far the most broken playstyle in 2.0, I would argue even more so then before. It's mostly because of the Optimizer, which adds 1000% quickhack damage. In my opinion it is pretty braindead playstyle in an optimised build, because you will only be using a few quickhacks in the same order every time. With certain pieces of cyberware you don't even have to worry about your health and will be in perma overclock mode.
@@saprone8885 It's funny how many posts you see on forums crying about how Netrunning is terrible now. I'm sure most of them didn't even try it themselves.
Playing as a sneaky netrunner with throwing knives is so much fun! Poison the rest with contagion or the poison grenade once you’re discovered, then go in with a thermal weapon like the thermal katana/monowire or the iconic shingen smart gun from the arasaka industrial park to make everybody explode into a rainbow cloud
Using a biomonitor in the circulatory cyberware makes it so that there’s no animation when using a health item and activates automatically once your health goes down to 35%. This activates Adrenaline Rush automatically while you can focus on just fighting instead of worrying about using blood pump or health items. Blood pump and the biomonitor go well together but I find it better to use the biomonitor with the MaxDoc inhaler, especially after getting the MaxDoc Mk.4 or higher. Saves the circulatory cyberware slot or come cyberware capacity.
@@itsdavetvYT late but, biomonitor removes the animation and the need to press a button. Blood Pump and Biomonitor pair well together but I’d rather save the cyberware capacity and just use the normal health items with biomonitor. And I really only use it because I’m lazy usually too focused on trying to do cool things. And taking a second to notice I’m about to die then pressing a button so I don’t die is for one, not cool. And second, inconvenient while fighting up close and surrounded.
They may have changed it but now it's 50% health and that's too imo. You make a valid point about the animation but I cant trade what I have considering the early health Regen. I can see it working for others that don't have ways to gain health or have the slot open.
@@Swagalodonyou know getting to the point whr you need a health regen is not cool as well. It's ok if your proving how optimized a build is but specifically for looking cool you have to be near untouchable and execute spacing and timing near perfect or it's just plain Jane. The only time I can give damage and barely passable execution is when I know it's pure free flow gameplay and not many actually do that other than Spiderman swingers.
It's worth noting that if you forgot to pick up or didn't know you could pick up the Nehan off Saburo's body, you can get it from the first weapons vendor you meet in Dogtown.
The highest damage throwing weapons are called "Claw". It is non-Iconic and if you can get 5+ or more it will be above 153 damage per hit. Headshots will blow heads clean off. I'm currently doing a sword and knife build with no cyberwear but eyes and grip. I have the basic cyberdeck because we start with it but I am not hacking other than turning off cameras and access points for money. It makes combat a serious encounter. You cannot charge in without taking stock of who you are fighting. It is very fun but tricky.
ik this is late, but my favorite build is a solo “type” build. Its johnnys pistol, explo shotgun you get from smasher, and a lmg with the chimara core mod. Its SHREDS everything.
For the second hand slot, you can use the tygerclaws tattoo and upgrade it to get a bit of bonus melee damage in the secondary bonuses. Even if the smart weapons stuff is irrelevant. It’s a bit of an extra boost
We’re taking advantage of a lot of Iconics that cost a lot and we need all slots filled for the bonus from the perk under Tech, but if you have the capacity go for it
Throwing knives builds would be so much better if you could specify which weapon slot you auto swap to after throwing it, and when you recharge or pick the knife back up then you auto swap back to the knife. This would be amazing imo.
Another tidbit is that at no time do you need to go all the way to your apartment for a stash reward. All stash rewards can be obtained from your vehicle once earned. Unless you're on PC getting to level 60 or even 50 means you'll be playing and completing a great portion of the game before you get to dog town. You'll get a lot of nice rewards a great story and memorable side quests for your effort. That said this build appears to be more oriented as a template for endgame so I'd adjust and tweak it accordingly.
That was updated with Update 2.0, her previous drop wasn't even close to being something this good. I haven't done a fresh playthrough yet, so I wasn't aware
Don’t get me wrong Mantis Blades are cool af, but practically it makes no sense for this build 😂 Like I said, plenty of great options for build-crafting in the game 🤘
I wish mantis blades could be swung a bit faster then I'd use them more, with how they are now they feel too slow and clunky for me Also, it feels like I'm making small paper cuts and the blocking is a bit buggy with them for me.
Hey! I love this build! But do u recommend the claw x mod 2 from 2.1 over the headhunter? I dont have the claw yet but i saw that u could put weapon mods onto it so i would love your opinion on this!
I just started playing the game again and will definitely try this build! Although I'm confused on how you killed those 3 dudes with the headhunter 1:03 without getting close to get the knife back? If the description of the headhunter is right, you should use another weapon to headshot the enemy to retrieve the knife back but in the video it looks like you only used the headhunter
People sleepin on the fire build I think. Errata, Psalm. 1.11, incindiery grenades and thermal mantis blades. Or any thermal hand cyberware for that matter.
@@itsdavetvYT Sweet, thanks man! Your build absolutely mashes by the way; I was already a throwing/blade build so it wasn’t too much of a stretch, the addition of the Sande/Camo combo (and that axe!) takes it to a ridiculous level of destruction haha. Thank you for all your hard work, it’s very appreciated
I'm trying to emulate the cyberware loadout, but I can't seem to fit in the handle wrap? All of the other cyberware pieces add up to 318 on my character, whereas the video seems to show 321 cyberware with the handle wraps included.
Got a lot of playtime hours 😅 I still don't know everything, but I'm testing stuff out all the time to help out the community who wants to have fun with some cool builds!
Doing all the NCPDs, Cyberpyscho's and Dogtown Drop pods! Tougher tier enemies have a chance to drop them too, plus I spec'd perks into the Middle Tree and the Tech Attribute
That's what I thought too, but it's never mentioned in the anime. According to Wiki it's more than likely the Apogee because of the color scheme and updated perks
Scalpel katana quite often is a much better blade compared to Byako. crit damage increases 50% whenever you combine Scalpel with Sandavistan. that's crazy. plus the blade has electrical damage. this basically destroys mechs in an instant. even the heavy armoured ones.
How does Headhunter-knife work? First I need to hit the enemy and only then it will start to have a debuff with +200 to headshot ? but that makes no sence...
I’m confused, I’m at level 58 and tried respecing to this build but ran out of Perk Points to complete it? Even if/when I get to 60 I’d still not have enough, I’d be like 5 short? Can someone please tell me what I’m doing wrong here?
You're not doing anything wrong! You get perk points from leveling, skill progression and also Perk Shards that drop from enemies. I recommend doing every NCPD and Gig because some of those enemies and rewards have the chance to drop the shard
where is the ability to fall down over an enemy and take his head and hit it on the floor?? sorry if you explained it yet but i dont understand english very well and i dont find it
Regarding Cyberware: Dense Marrow and Adrenaline Booster affect melee dmg, but that doesn't count towards blades. At least it didn't before some patches?
I have the Militech apogee sandevistan but for me killing an enemy only gives +10% duration and it only has a 6 sec max duration but it’s at tier 5+. Can someone explain why this is?
@@aidengamerboy4041 Also at the time of this video I believe this is before they tuned the sandy's across the board which probably came with smaller stats and cooldowns
Used the same build basically, minus headhunter plus blue fang. 200% damage for one hit on very hard difficulty will do less that 3-5 seconds of even a cyberpsycho doing nothing. But it's a great build and lots of fun. Throwing axe is probably too powerful.
Funny thing is that within 3-5 seconds you can kill a cyberpsycho in a min-maxed katana build. Using the Scalpel with Sandi active is the easiest way to do it.
@dimKiriyenko Now I understand you. Do you have any succes with other weapons against cyberpsycho's? I did test a lot of different weapons and most of them performed poorly, even weapons which people say do a lot of damage. For example the Hypercritical. The weapons I have tested with the highest dps were: 1. Yinglong 2. Scalpel 3. Pride. Everything else did considerably worse.
@dimKiriyenko You are right that weapon also does a good chunk of damage. I have tested it without the Microgenerator. What I didn't like about it was how often it had to reload. It did lower the dps quite a bit against high health targets. The Scalpel got higher dps, because it could keep attacking for longer without a break. That's why I disregarded shotguns in general quickly as optimal weapons to use in melee. Maybe I should give it another try with the generator, as the Sovereign reload time is not too bad.
@@itsdavetvYT I'd say it's on par with the Satori or the Byakko, and possibly better. I feel like the leap attack is already covered by the Flash and Thunder perk, and bleeding is covered by the capstone blade perk. I do enjoy pairing blades with tech sniper rifles of all things, since I can pull out the sniper rifle in the middle of a fight to take out hard to reach enemies that I can't get to quickly with melee.
i have a little problem with gorrila arms, I dont know why but when i have a conversation and there is option with body atribution to pick its ok, but when i need to open doors it dosnt work it shows me that i dont have enaugh strenth ;/
I think that's the opposite, even if you have the bonus from Gorilla Arms it shouldn't effect conversations but it should effect you being able to open doors, move obstacles, etc. Note that the changed the bonus from +1 at Tier 3, then +2 and Tier 3+ and so on. Could also be a bug
Hit a vulnerability with one of the throwing knives/axes, follow up with another while they're stunned, smack with katana until you can perform a few finishers for big damage, repeat 👍
Is it when you do the finisher? Weapons with the airstrike mod can crash the game when you do the finisher. Make sure none of your equipped weapons have that mod installed.
You'll either need to continue leveling up your Skills Ranks in the bottom left of the Attributes window or Perk point chards can be found from caches, gigs, etc in the game!
You will as long as you have the Gorilla Arms since the passively add point to you Body attribute. Even if you’re at 14 Body a Tier 5 Gorilla Arms would technically make you have 20 Body
Blades are confusing. Throwing knives can equip blade mods because they're literal blades but they don't benefit from blade perks in reflex. You can't even block bullets with them.
Great video. I am the same blade builder for this game. I wish the game had more unique knives with interesting abilities. It could be an electric knife with 1 Demon script u choose. It would be awesome for Sandy players to have the available script. Just for a fun variation of combat tactics with a bosses. This game has soooo much more potential in immersive mechanics its crazy.
Thanks, deep diving into builds is what I like to do! It's crazy how catered a build can be down to even the smallest stats. A knife with an attachable QuickHack would be nuts tbh
I'll look into doing that on the next Build! Mostly for this one I'd at least start off Body with 4 to get the health regen perks, then you can evenly focus on Reflexes, Tech and Cool. Depends how you want to play tbh
I just started a blades build. I want to test a regular katana with the new iconic mod from the chimera core that adds the ability severence. Or it may just be good to add to the cutomatic. Also personally I like the blue fang knife for the stun but honestly it doesn't matter much against regular enemies since most die to one headshot.
My recommendation for stuns, Projectile launch system. It can stun a group of enemies and activates quick so you can pull it on the run. With Militech soft you can even spam the hell out of it for good measure and with Quake perk you have another stun option with the same very arms
Hey buddy I tried your recent jhon wick build and it was really good It’s my first time playing this game and it really helped me out but I’m switching over to this build only thing I can’t get is the apoge sandy cause I punched fingers is there any other way of getting it ?
Glad you liked the John Wick Build 🔥 Fingers has the Militech Falcon I believe, but once you get to a high enough level RipperDocs will start selling it or go straight into Dog Town and those RipperDocs automatically have them!
Sure! For Body, Reflexes and Cool I'd get to 15 and Tech max out to 20. You'll have a few Attribute points leftover, but with this setup you can max out your Cyberware and have solid perks under Blades, Knives, Movement and Health Regen 👍
The Cyborg Perk under Tech in the middle tree at the time was affected by it, but it might've been patched since then to where you don't need Ambidextrous
The Byakko's perk allows it to have a faster attack speed, but you can also look into the Microrotors Cyberware under the Circulatory System. Plus check out the blade perks on the right skill tree under reflexes for more bonuses
They used to before 2.0, but not anymore unfortunately. There's an exception with Butcher's Cleaver since it's a non-throwable knife, but outside of that each have their own specific perks and skill trees now
Totally fine! Like I said there a bunch of ways to build craft in the game. Probably want to focus stats away from stealth damage and more melee damage, health regen and resistances 👍
@@itsdavetvYT I'll still be stealthy, only without that camo. But your build basically molded what i wanted, only will do some adjustments and im golden. Thanks again!
Do you really need adrenaline rush if you run a sandy... your not gonna be getting hit as evetying may aswell be at a stand still and you aint gonna get hit much.
There's a few perks left under Blades and Knives, but with maxed out Attributes what else could you spend your perks on? Plus for people trying to do Hard or Very Hard Difficulty it's 100% needed
