Truly one of the greatest games we've gotten in the past decade, I never get bored of this game and it's honestly a masterpiece. @Kintabl

For me, Witcher 3 has the best world building I have ever seen in the games. Towns are just the right size so you can feel you are in the town (Oxenfurt) or large city (Novigrad). I really like the realistic and logical depictions of towns and their surroundings. World in Witcher 3 is just the best.

After so many years and so many playthroughs, I still enjoy turning on TW3 for an hour and just taking a stroll through Novigrad or Beauclair, taking in the sights and maybe playing some gwent with a merchant or Barnabas-Basil.

No other game has transported me out of my reality and into its universe as this game series had. And during a very difficult time in my life amidst the first lockdowns of the pandemic, The Witcher was my saving grace as I isolated completely alone without human contact for 4 months. I identified with Geralt more than ever during that time as I feel he was the one person who understood isolation. With that said, Toussaint had become the place that I actually yearned to escape to during that time and still even, rough times or not. That place was so special, so magical, and had a mood about it, being both peaceful and beautiful with it's vibrant colors, the look of spring and summer, colorful buildings, and harboring a sinister secret to keep it all interesting. And the music was just out of this world. There was lot of love poured into Geralt's final chapter, it's clear. When my mind starts thinking of Toussaint whilst doing my everyday things, my body reacts. It calms, muscles relax, and I get this warm feeling deep inside me. This proves that not only The Witcher, but this place specifically has been rooted in my psyche. But second to Toussaint, Novigrad was my 2nd favorite city for the same reasons you described in the video. This entire game felt so real, so immersive, like it makes it easy to believe that this place actually did exist or still does somewhere. No other game... even Skyrim my other favorite game, doesn't even come close to the level of immersion, relating to and loving the characters, as did The Witcher. I'm dying to play it again. I've stayed away from it for over a year now and want my 10th playthrough to be on the next gen upgrade and I can't wait!
@aragorn1780
@aragorn1780 Год назад
one aspect of Novigrad that I always love to emphasize is that when you finally reach Novigrad you just spent days in Velen convinced that this would be the tone of the entire game then all of a sudden you're in a big vibrant city that you actually can get lost in surrounded by all the things you described that contrast from Velen to Novigrad just enhances the entire experience when you first get there!!!

I had an even beter experience, was just walking through velen not doing quests because i was bored and then i come across a huge ass wall covering something (i could see the roofs of the structures) i got excited and went in and oh my god, it was so big and alive i fucking enjoyed exploring the whole area, didn't even bother doing quests and still spent like 4 hours just walking through the city, awesome experience 10/10 would do it again.

Exactly, its called immersion. Thats why i call on CP as MEDIOCRE game, as RPG you should feel as a part of the world, and in CP you feel as disconnected from the world entirely .

Level of details are astounding in both that game and all its expansions. But it’s the approach to the details that really stands out. It is the focus on immersion in every detail possible. From the NPC‘s and their routine behaviors/day night cycles, the sound quality of creatures and environment, the detail in the world from clothing to environmental to facial to reactions, the use of source material and elaboration of a common sense approach to a living world with these attributes and characteristics, appropriate music that is both engaging and setting appropriate, etc. etc. etc. etc. the previous Witcher games hit on these aspects but not nearly in the way that it was innovated upon as technology and staff and resources increased. Witcher three was a combination of this immersive framework and passion where every minute intricate detail played a part of importance that you could engage with on some form or another. I they set the bar with that project. That can be a blessing and a curse. Because as your projects continue, you have to at bare minimum meet the bar you set with your previous project. That’s a bare minimum. Typically you want to raise the bar if only a little. But that’s how you get greatness and you continue to grow. You constantly set new bars and you do not follow trends or whatever. You are your own identity and you stand apart and stand out. Truly a master work of a project. No game is ever great nor will any game ever be because you can’t have perfection, but you can strive to come as damn close as possible. And that type of effort is always noticed and appreciated

The witcher 3 will always be referenced as the bench mark for Western rpgs, still amazed that they managed to pull of this game on the hardware of the time. Never felt so lost in a world like the witchers. It ages like a fine wine. what is youe opinion of the stylized graphic choice or more releasitice choice? Personally I prefer the stylized which is a pro for the aging of the game compared to realistic graphics.

I honestly feel like there will be ray tracing. Some extra gear and haircuts and thats it. Normally this would be an easy cash grab like releasing skyrim again. But its free for everybody who already owns the game. This is why CDPR is still a great gaming company despite the meme that is cyberpunk. They are just over ambitious i think.

@@felixwinter1650 They will at least improve the resolution of all the textures plus lighting and maybe raytracing to a degree. But improving the textures alone will make the game look way much better. They would have not delayed the release of the upgrade, only for some raytracing.

@amphibeingmcshpongletron5026
I finally started a fresh new game on PC after the enhanced edition update. Seeing this world again with stunning visuals in 4k is amazing! I turned down some of the settings because I prefer a higher framerate, but with the new Ultra+ textures in higher resolution, with most bells and whistles turned down, it still looks A LOT better than my first playthrough on my old PC build. Some times I'll even throw on some light ray-tracing for cutscenes or non-combat gameplay. I just got to Novigrad and I've just been walking around, taking it all in again like the first time I played it back in 2016. Can't wait to meet up with Zoltan and Dandelion. Truly an iconic city in the world of video games.

What I like most is the distinctiveness of the world. You take a 360° look at your surroundings and know almost exactly where you are (as long as you are not surrounded by forest alone and even then most of the time you know roughly where you are). And in the city of Novigrad it is even more distinct than in the countryside.

I just wish they would add at least a bit of interactivity to those living cities of thiers because you can be just a spectator and it wasn't so bad in Witcher 3 but in Cp77 it hit you right in your face where you can't even sit on a bench or stuff like that where you could do such things even in Khorinis which was made all those years ago.

I'd argue Novigrad is not very Slavic. It does have Polish elements but keep in mind that in medieval Poland (which it's mostly based on) cities were run under German law and the architecture was strongly influenced by Germany, not to mention many inhabitants were settlers coming from the west. Novigrad stands in contrast to a very Slavic-like countryside and I think that's its purpose. Paradoxically, Beauclair has a lot more examples of actual Polish architecture from post-medieval period.
