If your past record was positive, then you need to follow up the HBsAg, HBV DNA in every 6 months to 1 year till as your doctor suggested. Dont think it is a normal virus, it can be positive even after 5 years.

You are in treatment that's why your DNA is negative not detected due to the effect of anti-viral medications. If you stopped taking medications viral level will raised after few months. so, your doctor told you right, dont stop medications at the moment. Keep continue, may be you will be free from this virus forever.

What does undetected hbv dna mean? And why does it still show Hbv positive

HBV positive means infection already detected. but DNA unable to replicate the virus because your antibody is strong yet and fight against the virus thats why. Keep your lifestyle healthy and maintain a healthy lifestyle. It might be negative later on, if infection will be acute phase.

HBV Vaccine is recommended for everyone for those people not infected with HBV. Anti viral medications is not recommended for everyone because, if viral level is low then it will not work, You will get many side effects, once you started this medicine may be it will be continued throughout life time.
