Reminder: One of the only words that remains the same throughout every language is "Internationale" and thus the line "The Internationale unites the Human Race" is not a request for the world to unite, it's a guarantee the Internationale WILL unite the Human Race!
The British one sounds better because the syllables match with the melody, at least that's what I heard. My favourite ones are the British one, the French, the Chinese and the Soviet one.
Odd way to phrase it, but I’m guessing you mean “an orchestral Internationale played on an organ like this video”? I do really like the organ, so I get where you’re coming from.
The transcription on the video have a number of mistakes: - "Arise ye starvelings from your slumbers, not "starvers." - "and at last ends the age of cant", not "can't" (look up the word "cant"). - "we'll change forthwith the old conditions", not "traditions" The recording is rather short too of course, it leaves off a few more verses of the song. It would be good, and respectful, to include who made this recording.
Billy Bragg re-wrote the words of The International in the late 1980s, he used words that could be understood in todays society, in contrast to these words of the 1800s!.
I an American Republican Conservatist, but I have always so loved this song....Somehow we can Unite the Human Race.. ....For the betterment of all....Our world is a terrible position, currently, due to the earth warming.....All peeps should work on this, n study ways of betterment, regardless of the foolish diplomats.....All they want is POWER, at anyone's cost..😢
