Was going through my mentions just now and was very surprised to see this previously unseen video there. Thanks a lot for the video and offering your perspective - using animals as a way to illustrate your point was really clever.
Okay long hair and painted nails and eyeliner on guys is nothing new if you're old enough remember 80:s Hair Bands and the 70's with free loving Hippies
It’s not new but commonly still considered strange. I have gotten many comments about it from people IRL. Some positive which is appreciated and some not so much. Besides the fact that I see socialization for men and boys that makeup and long hair is not something we are allowed to do. Just something I noticed 🤷
I really don't know if this is ironic. 🤔 Everytime you're talking about "gender" 5 minutes ago we used the word "personality" for that. "Misgendering" is the biggest bs of all times. I'm not "disrespecting" or "harming" when correct-sexing someone, I'm just not buying into someones fantasy, delusion or expression of narcicissm and I'm not taking part in demolition of language and meaning of (essential) words. "Woman/man, boy/girl" are not feelings, dresscodes, styles, personality traits, likes/dislikes but material realities.
So there have never been moments in history when men have had long hair or used makeup (1700’s Europe)? There are no cultures that have “third genders” that are not male or female (Hawaiian Māhū)? There are no civilizations that have been based around non-male leadership (Indonesia)? Just because something is outside of your experience doesn’t make it invalid for someone else. Maybe don’t speak on things you don’t understand. My gender doesn’t even matter to me. I don’t really identify fully with either one which for me shows that having two binary options is not really sufficient. Do you know anyone that uses a nickname, a shortened version of their full name, or anything else (Matt, Mike, Sue, etc)? What’s the difference for those people compared to someone that chooses a different “gendered” name? Both parties are using a chosen name that they like better but only one is deserving of respect? 🤔
@@TheStumpyBrigade Dude, you're pretty late to the party. All your arguements have been deconstucted so many times. Every time in history and every place in the world always had exactly two sexes: Male or female. Sex related cultural expressions and expectations differ in place and time ("gender"). So all one can be in terms of "gender" is only: conforming or nonconforming, depending on the time and place you're in. No haircut will have any impact on my ability and way to procreate (getting pregnant vs. impregnate) and will for sure not spare me from dealing with menopause some day. No amount of nail polish will make you any less of a man or (even a worse thought) any type of or more of a woman. A man in a tutu is just that: a man in a tutu. And third genders? Mostly the regressive and homophobic way of some cultures to deal with same sex attraction.
There is no “true” binary of genders so there is no way to be conforming or non-conforming. The very idea about what is masculine or feminine has changed multiple times across history. You don’t get to define other people just because your limited understanding of the world doesn’t allow for a different perspective. Your ability to reproduce has nothing to do with your gender identity. That is physical sex and is unrelated to gender identity. It also leaves no room for intersex people or cis people that can’t reproduce. As for your final “argument” explain the concept of “two-spirit” of Native American tribes. This was specifically created by native tribes to push back against the colonial ideas of gender and sexuality. Your entire argument hinges on the fact that there is a true binary which is just historically and factually inaccurate even in European culture.
@@TheStumpyBrigade No, I just don't care about what you call "gender" or someones "gender identity" which is nothing else than personality traits and/or expression. Non-feminin women are still women. Childless women are women. Infertile women are still women. Supressed women with no opportunities to express themselves in any way are women. They're not men and they're not a "third" sex or a "new" gender. You as a dog owner know for sure that you can put a bow on Timmy and call him "Lilli" and a good girl, the other dogs in the park will still recognize that he is male. Did you know that the exact egg you hatched from was already present in your grandmother (in the ovaries of your unborn mother)? Fascinating, isn't it? I don't know how your grandmother liked her hair and how she stood towards the gendered expectations of her time, but I know for sure that she was a woman. Oh, and about what I "don't understand": Too funny. It is no wonder that especially adolescent people fall for this gender nonsense. People who seem to know and understand nothing about their body, lack of a parent, siblings, real life encounters, intimacy.. But with a strong need to feel "special". Just like the goth kid in my youth who expected to be treated differently bc he was wearing all black and a spiky collar. 😆 I told him he could wear all green and I couldn't care less. Aren't you too old for that? You're just a dude who likes to wear nailpolish (and I'm guessing watched a little bit to much pr0n and is probably into some kind of sissyfication). So what? Why do you think you need a special label for that? This gender nonsense is - by the way - soo selfinvolved, superficial and just lame. But the f3tishists did a good job: Genius move to give the dumbest and lamest people something ("gender") to feel super-insightful and special. The others just don't understand. 😴
That’s a lot of assumptions to make about someone you know nothing about. Pretty hilarious that you simultaneously try to claim your opinion is law while also saying everyone else is just trying to be “special.” Sounds like you are the one who thinks they are so important they can tell everyone else how they feel or what opinions are valid. 🙄
