Another pro tip: TURN OFF iCloud backup completely. iCloud backups are not end-to-end encrypted and Apple holds the keys to all your data that has been backed up to their servers and will hand it over if FBI or the government asks for it.
How about Apple allowing us to Disable iCloud storage messages... It gets VERY annoying to keep getting that message. Apple, it’s 2020... 5 GB is literally like no space. It should be at least 15 like Google.
My biggest problem with the iPhone storage is the "Other Storage" category. I wish I could set a limit on how much space was available for "Other", or at least, an option to reserve 2 or 3 gigs for upgrade files.
Apple should definitely make 128GB the base storage. I know people who’ve been rocking with 64GB iPhone since Apple starting offering it but they had to switch for a more expensive model because after years of gathering numerous photos, videos and music their storage took a huge hit.
The iPhone Retail Package's Storage Space Problem: There is (almost, aside from those of 11 Pro and 11 Pro Max as of May 2020) never enough space for any other charger faster than the stock 5V 1A one. And you can never get the 3.5mm adapter and quick charging plug to appear in the same retail box. It probably is legitimately worth a new video.
I got my hands on a (free) iPhone 4 so I could listen to my music library and not care if it got destroyed/lost. Quickly swapped it for a Samsung Galaxy S (same era), easily upgradeable to 64GB. Having 8GB of storage is a dreadful experience 😎

I love how many Apple (and some Android) users say that phones shouldn't have SD card slots, because SD cards are slower than the built-in storage, but will happily use cloud storage with their 8 mbps WiFi.
I have 64 gb on my iPhone Xs and it’s just half way full… my previous iPhone had 32 and never had it full, I don’t pay for iCloud I simply upload my photos to shared albums, either way I have no complaint about physical storage on my Apple devices

When I first got my iPhone 6S+ 16GB, I was able to store 21000 photos and videos and all those popular social media apps. Unfortunately, this video is well made (Bravo). I enjoyed watching it but doesn’t help me with OTHER DATA SYSTEM issue. My iPhone 6S+ 16GB has NOTHING on it anymore. No social media, no photo, not video, no music, not documents, no text, no game apps AT ALL. But I still got this STORAGE FULL message. I can’t even take picture. Everytime I use my iPhone 6S+, I have to delete the Safari cash so I could use the phone for just few minutes. It’s SO full that I can’t even put my phone on Air Plane mode sometimes. I already backup my phone several time on iTunes. I already restore the phone MANY TIMES. The real problem is OTHER DATA: iOS & System Data. It’s NOT about the picures, videos and apps. And I repeat: When I first got my iPhone 6S+ 16GB, I was able to store 21000 photos and videos and all those popular social media apps. So?… Now, I have nothing to backup. So NO need to buy iCloud storage. I’m not the only one in this situation. We need a SOLUTION so we could use the SAME phone, instead of just explanation about why Apple is doing this.

@@rafalb692 not really, check the prices for Google One, i'd say it's way better than icloud, especially since they have YEARLY subscriptions instead of monthly only. You can get 100GB for about $2 a month, it garies by region or pay like $28 to have 100GB for a whole year available to you. Plus the google pixel has usb, so unlike an iphone that can probably only be connected to a macbook and have its photos automatically go to icloud, you have option with android/google poxel. I mean yes you do have the same options with ios, but I can assume its probably easier to kove photos and whatnot with android, since its not automatically sent to the cloud
I work at a PC repair shop and most people are only using about 50gb of local storage after subtracting apps and windows usage mean while they have slow 1TB 5400rpm drives when they should have a ssd instead.

All these problems could have been prevented if they only allowed expanded storage like MicroSDs. But then, this is a tech industry's love affair: create a problem, sell the solution.
I've never once had a storage issue with an iPhone. Or any phone post 32GB becoming the norm. Last issues I had were back when really old-school Android devices only had like 512mb on board. Xperia X8, etc.
Since it is blurred the first time when shown, I suppose at 6:01 you forgot to do so with the picture seen on your phone in the iMazing app. Maybe you wanna fix that :D
Actually I’ve never seen it because I always buy one with plenty of storage. I understand the frustration though and I wouldn’t blame people for pushing back by just dumping their iPhone for Android. Inferior software in my opinion but if storage is a big priority and your budget is limited it’s the better choice.

Same here. I had an iPhone 6s Plus 16GB for over two years and never had that problem. Now with iPhone 8 64GB for two years and never seen that notification.
The problems Apple users have, are so weird when on any other device or computer, you just move files about and be done with it. No special software to buy or anything

Moon Wrath I still using 16gb 6s+ iPhone and I have space just for the most necessary apps like messenger, RU-vid, Instagram and WhatsApp, a couple photos and songs. Thankfully I can stream music and I can move photos to free OneDrive cloud
Well, there used to be an iPhone storage problem, back when it was 16 or 32GB but not anymore. I have 256GB. Can't even fill half of that space despite some 30,000 or so photos. Thousands of MP3 files, many apps and videos. So there's definitely no storage issue for me
I think that's a problem with all smartphones without a micro SD card slot and not just the iPhone. Yes, iPhones start at lower storage space than other android phones but you can just buy the upgraded version with 4 times the starting storage space. Yes it's more expensive but you pay once and you're good to go.
Seriously though, when has slow SD-cards affected the phone performance in any significant way. Maybe if Android was like Symbian S60 was and allowed users to select between phone internal storage and SD-card when installing applications. But i doubt that any legit SD card would be slow enough that you would be able to tell which pictures you had in your internal storage vs SD card when opening gallery app or something similar. Other than situations like that where lots of smaller files need to be accessed simultaneously, there is no real world situation where you can really see the difference on daily use. Yes it might be slower when you have to move files from sd card to your computer vs moving them from your phone internal storage to your computer. But who does that so often, that having slow but huge storage space is worse than only having option to use cloud storage or constantly running out of space.
The beauty about sd cards is that you can have all your multimedia content on it and when you upgrade you just connect it and it works perfectly (because androids are similar to PC when it comes to storing data)
Yep, my iPhone has 64GB and I have only used up 25 gigs despite having over 60 apps and nearly 2000 photos and videos. However when I had a 16GB iPhone I frequently found myself running out of storage
As a content creator my iPhone being my main camera 500gb is just enough, but having a 750gb or 1TB would save me from having to organize things every 2 weeks to about once a month. iPad is amazing with the 1TB.
I had this problem with my 2nd gen iPad mini, which had 16gb of memory. I have used android for the entire 2010s, this past January I purchased a 256gb iPhone X. No real issues with storage on device or in iCloud. I do use google photos, which I carried over from my android days. I think this problem will start to go away, people are capturing more media than ever. They need to find the best storage option that works for them. Plain and Simple.
You forgot to mention that apps for the iOS ecosystem are many times larger in size to their android counterparts. So you can have the same apps on a 16GB iPhone and a 16GB android and end up with much more extra space on the android. And that is without the greater cloud storage with Google Drive and an SD card.
This is exactly why I’m ditching Apple HARD and switching to Android next chance I get, this is ridiculous. Also (and I am not making this up) that message literally popped up while watching this video.
The iPhone 11S, or iPhone 12, or whatever they call it, will probably support 8K and have storage of 128 512 and 1024. 2021 will see, aside from supposedly a portless phone, a 2048 GB iPhone

Don’t you hate it when you delete 80% of your photos and it says the same amount of storage. Then you try to refresh and it won’t work. Then you try to go to recently deleted to delete all of them and it work work? I hate it.
this is not an issue, its normal notification which notifies people that their storage is low, the same thing happens if you use up all your storage on windows or android device the notification is needed because full storage comes at a pretty big performance reduce
Hasn’t happened for me since they improved all the cloud stuff like iCloud photos. I also like that it auto-uninstalls apps I no longer use but can reinstall them with kept settings at a moment’s notice. I buy base storage iOS devices except for my travel iPad where I sync video content.
I have an iPhone 7 32GB. The reason I choose the iPhone is that I like IOS better than android for a smartphone. People say that android is faster than IOS, but when you compare that 4 or 5 years later, the iPhone is much faster because of Apple's software and hardware integration. My iPhone 7 is almost 4 years old and it's still very fast and responsive, which I think is awesome that the nearly 4-year-old phone can run the latest version of IOS from 2020 really well. Yes, the storage sucks at just 32GB, however, I get around that issue (without paying for iCould Storage) by just turning off iCloud Photos and using Google Photos. Google Photos provides you free unlimited photo storage if you allow them to slightly compress your photos. I'm fine with this because I can't really tell a difference from the original and the compressed one in Google Photos. I also turn off iCloud backups for any older devices that I don't really use anymore. I only iCloud backup my iPhone 7 and my iPad 2. (I do not use a Mac on a daily basis, so I don't back it up at all). With that and my iMessage backing up to iCloud as well, I'm only using about 3 GB of space, which hasn't really gone up in the past year or so. So for anyone struggling with the 5GB free iCould limit, I'd suggest you switch to Google Photos and completely disable and Delete iCloud Photos, and turn off iCloud backup for any device you don't really care about.
If you people have high 'others' storage usage. Dont get confused that its software eating up that much space. It is auto downloaded stuff from apps like whatsapp. Things you can do, 1. If you can, just delete and reinstall whatsapp. By doing it you can clear the app's downloaded contents. If you can't do that, then clear some group chats. You will see significant change in storage usage. 2. Turn off auto download in whatsapp. (I am taking whatsapp as an example here). Manually download the photos and videos which you want. There are lot of group chats we have and there are lot of unwanted videos and photos which get automatically downloaded to our phones gallery as well as inside whatsapp. Let me tell you something. Normally iphone will automatically download videos and photos when connected to wifi. And when downloading the phone will keep two copies of it. One in whatsapp itself and the other copy in gallery. The copy which is in whatsapp app is the cause of 'others' storage usage in iPhones. Just turn off auto download and clear some existing group chats to delete already downloaded stuffs. Hope you understoof this. Ask me if you have any doubt regarding this
I haven't had to deal with too little storage since my 16GB 5s. The mid-tier option of 256 GB is more than enough for me. But the 5 GB of iCloud storage is downright ridiculous in this day and age.
It certainly is a fact people often run out of storage because of their impulse to take pictures of just about anything. But the actual problem is fragmented in a number of reasons. The first one is the huge difference in app sizes and app internal data sizes between op and Android. While an app like Facebook is around 40 to 70 Mb on android, it takes up to 300 Mb on iOS just with the app without ever opening it. If you eventually open the app, it is going to download additional data and cache, increasing the total amount of space it is taking off the phone's storage. And, as opposed to android, iOS has a very limited cleaning options, only letting the user to clean the cache on some apps. Tik Tok, for example, downloads a filter when the user wants to use it, but doesn't let you delete it afterwards. The app, which is only ~140 Mb, can go up to +500 Mb in just minutes of using it. And the only solution is to delete the app and download it again from the AppStore. Also, the iOS system takes a lot of storage (as any OS), and hides some of the free storage from the user, and it is used to let the iPhone be usable even if the storage is "full". As a bottom line, even if the iPhones have much less storage as other phones, the system also plays a huge part on the problem. P.S. just download google photos, turn on sync and backup, and then delete every picture from the iPhone itself :0

I have 78 movies 9x tv series, and over 12,000 song of awesome heavy metal music, so my 512gb iPhone gets filled up quickly, and have to swap and change movies, playlists etc. At least with movies & tv series being bought from iTunes I can still carry them in the iCloud, but have to choose which ones are stored locally on my iPhone. Godsdamnit Apple make a 1Tb iPhone already!

I do sales at an Apple store, it’s crazy how many people complain about spending $12 a YEAR for 50gb of storage but probably waste more than that a week or even a day on stupid things like Starbucks etc.
