I thought the same here. They should have said "Well, F you too Ethan." - then brush it off & move forward. If that happened, I would even expect them to still interact with each other and laugh off the mutual roasting. That result would have maintained mutual respect. Instead, FNT got really seriously hurt about the whole thing. I guess roasting is only considered ok if they do it to others. I don't blame Ethan for egging it on after their hypocritical reaction.

They got so offended because EVS revealed their dirty secret that they are not defenders of traditional culture but just grifters.

@enriquecabrera2137 The only time I ever partook in those kinds of drugs I ended up saying something that ended a friendship. It's definitely a situation where it'd be better to give the person some kind of leeway and accept their apology when they offer it sober, but also sometimes the lowering of inhibitions means truth gets spoken that wouldn't have otherwise. Cecil has spent today on X doubling down and not apologizing, so I think the conversation going on about what to do with him is valid.

I can't possibly imagine that the Diaz brothers charged more for fulfillment than Rippa'send would charge Cecil. And even before this Cash Grab 2 was never going to sniff $300K like the first one. So is he going to pull a Yellow trash and alienate the bulk of this audience in order to pay someone more while making less? I think it's more that he enjoys the E-celeb status. Comicsgate doesn't do a lot of meetups, but Cecil has been at both mooching off other's tables and making money. As well as meeting his girlfriend and getting all kinds of free booze. But CG doesn't have regular meetups like FNT and Simpcast do. And is a much smaller customer base, so he will enjoy a bigger e-celeb status. And he doesn't have to worry about getting his book done or getting it printed and fulfilled, or having people harass him about it being late.

He has no room to even say the Miss Piggy post is wrong. He's said so much more heinous things about peoples' appearances than likening someone to Miss Piggy.

His book "being cancelled" didn't even hurt him, it actually helped him tremendously since he was able to truly call himself ComicsGate at that point and gain instant cred. @nessiesearcher Indeed, Eric was on EVS's stream post-Snyder, and the two of them were in complete lock-step about it. Honestly, there are moments in time where history fractures and things go down certain paths. The Snyder incident is when EVS and the Zeroes became incompatible with each other. And we wouldn't be where we are today if Eric had only handled a few internet trolls a little differently, and not made himself a lolcow.

It got obvious when Cecil would conspicuously go off camera every time EVS/Malin/Shane mentioned the Dungeoneers (of course, Cecil was AT the dungeon, but he is also dating a close friend of one of them). Cecil has been slowly retracting himself from the character we all loved for a while. We've all seen it. We've joked it's because he isn't fat, sad and single anymore. But yeah, you're right. We could see it coming.

@thesaint5619 The personalities on there don't look like they're even having fun anymore. Everyone is so dour, and when they do laugh it sounds forced and fake. There's a lack of spontaneity, a lack of energy and enthusiasm. And honestly the panel is too bloated with hangers on. They never have any real conversations, because everyone talks over everyone, and even the special guest often gets drowned out.
