Yay, love seeing other poi spinners showcasing this grip style. I personally use my index and middle finger and tie it to my forefingers. Easily allows me to unloop it just by spreading my fingers apart and easily allows switching to tosses mid show.
Speaking of the single loop knots I have been using my flow lights with the single loop setup. They work but not sure if you can tie it a different way or not just a little small. I use to use single loop butterfly knot on my index and middle finger. I also like my chicken baked ;-) On the next day of poi videos could you do a triquetra on a wall plane tutorial finding it hard to do extension and anti spin to combine to make the triquetra. Good to see some new stuff!!! :-)
cool! i shall have a play with this, i had been using dry beans to fill the space between my single loop grips, so its nice and squishy to spin, and adds weight to balance their momentum, but you cant really pass them between the fingers so well like that. nice oonnnnnnnnneeeee!!!
I tried this and it cuts circulation off of my fingers... I am just realizing that it's the reason for my middle and ring finger fingernails to having so much problems recently. Then, the way I was holding it before caused me to start bleeding because the metal bearing swivel kept rubbing against my skin... I wish I could find a way to hold them that works for me. I am thinking about buying a fingerless colorguard glove and sew an attachment that they can attach on to the glove so that my fingers and hands stop getting hurt so badly. :(
this grip works the best for my spinning, but it isn't very practical to use for long periods for me. after only 2-3 minutes it starts to cut the circulation off in my fingers.
just an added idea in case any body hasn't thought of this you can use this technique during "2 poi one hand" in between you pointer and middle finger with one poi and then the other poi handle in between you ring and pinkie finger. I'm not great at "2p.o.h" but it does help in learning it
thanks question though i thought that meteor was just another fancy term for puppyhammers or bola's. promise i'm just trying to clear it up cause i'm only coming up on my year mark and there are so many terms
