Poi tutorial on learning, turning with, and mastering buzzsaws ►My step-by-step poi courses: • Comprehensive Poi Cour... ►Poi gear reviews: playpoi.com/gear
Still looking for intelligent life. Found this video that I saved 12 years ago at the bottom of a playlist and it’s still on point. Helped me get my buzzsaw down. I’ve been spinning for 21 years now 🤪 👍🏼
@ 5:15 when you go from static spin in split/same to extension, the poi fall into quarter time due to conservation of angular momentum. when you do the buzzsaw flower, you're fighting against conservation of angular momentum and you have to constantly velocity-blend; speeding up in the extensions, and slowing down in the inspin petals. knowing this, of course, doesn't help most people learn how to do it, which is why i have mad respect for you, nick, in your ability to break stuff down.
Gunna make it my mission to learn these, I got told I should get the LED ball poi's but I struggled and sorta gave up. Last week I got some sock poi and find it a little easier, going to practice as much as I can.
every time i see nick...I think back to the time I 1st saw him..."wow he's short", lol. thanks for uploading new vid's nick. this helps all the new guy's so much :D
I've avoided buzzsaws, but they can actually look good when done properly...i may try them now. cool. I will always be sad that i turned around instead of driving further towards Toronto-not knowing there were poi people and cool places like this. :/
HAHAHAHA! I was like, "Oh, Brickworks! Cool! I researched a story on that for National Geographic a few years ago!" Then you said where you read it and I saw the video date...
I get it fine for cloth poi but chain is a totally different story. For one rolling chain around your hand isn't comfortable and the grip tends to slip. Another problem I have is how to work a buzz into other patterns. How do you alternate between long and short grips smoothly?
"it might take a couple of weeks to learn..." haha some people must really suck at poi because my friend and i have this nearly mastered after 10 minutes
