When you see a unique blind guitarist playing like this with the guitar upside down, standing up live and using with his teeth, playing better than a lot of other non blind guitar players from every decade, sadly being very underated, you see how life can be unffair...

Pukka Races Yes he was. He's always been an inspiration to me, because even though he may not can see, he had to adapt to playing the guitar laid down, and he is better than most guitarists who can see perfectly. Even though he's blind, his hearing takes over, and his sense of hearing is heightened, and you can plainly tell that he FEELS every single note he's playing. He puts every ounce of his energy, heart, and soul into each performance, and that is what makes music. Being able to see, or not isn't what makes music, because it comes from within, and he's hands down a true testament to that. Jeff Healey will forever be an inspiration to me. He's a true "musician" in my book.

Wow... Lost for words...Jeff was amazing, plays better in every way backwards, upside-down, with his teeth and across his lap. Jeff's up there with Jimmy,Stevie,Bonzo,Bon,and so many others taken from us fans way too early. RIP.
The word genius was invented for Jeff. I’ve playing the blues for 30yrs with full sight and can only aspire to be at this level. I can (just about) play at this level but let’s face it as a person with full sight it’s infinitely less impressive. Jeff was an absolute genius, zero doubt. I bow down.
I was there! This was recorded at the Town & Country Club in Kentish Town, London (now The Forum). Jeff's extraordinary version of this song was just one of the highlights of the evening - at the time I remember thinking that Jimi Hendrix would be smiling somewhere :-)
They classify blindness as a disability............well he 100% puts that comment well and truely to the grave. Pure Undisputed Talent and Skill of the highest level. The planet is well and truely a better place for having had his music in it.
An Authentic guitarist and human being, in the same standing as Hendrix. I've never said that about anyone else and probably never will. Btw, I'm a Jimi fan since 69

A Gift, He was a wonder. Saw him 4 times Live, plus having an autograph, from the beginning all Heroes were stunned of his talent. Who dares so innocent and "handicaped???" to compete to Jimi Hendrix. After the Regensburg Concert, I spent the night with the drummer Tom Stephen, unforgettable. One of our best guitarists ever.
one of the most underrated bands in history let alone the front man and now over 30+ years later that two out of three are gone this band's getting it's Cred if nothing else just proves life is a very short ride and geniuses are very rarely recognized during their lifetime
Everything past 7:10, as a guitarist 😳🤯 respect. Can you imagine where he would be now, a man who knew and loved jazz, would love to see more of that. Thanks to Roadhouse I know who Jeff Healey is, first time I’d heard of him all those years ago.
Wow! Honestly first time for me to see this guy. Mind blowing. I can remember my father who's blind as well and played guitar and banjo. This is one of the best.
Good Lord, what a performance! One thing I have noticed by watching Jeff's performances, are his hand/arm movements to inform band members of a "change", as he couldn't give them a glance or nod. Here, I see the bassist giving Jeff a "shoulder lean", to help him with spatial awareness. A bit of location assistance here, as he's a whirling dervish, perfectly sensible! I was so grateful, first watching this, it always makes me nervous when I see Jeff leaving his chair, terrified he would get misplaced. Astonished by his ability to find his seat. An earlier performance with SRV, Jeff stands up, cuts loose, finds his chair, no difficulty. Whew! Although it's not ESP (like a mind reading power, etc.), I concluded that this is a normal ability, but developed to an extraordinary level, thus an "extra sensory perception" that most sighted people don't develop, as it's not necessary, we can have a look. What a marvelously talented person he was, in every way. Bless you Jeff, for the joy of your music, still giving to us (at this point) 15 years later.
Never get tired of watching this brilliant outstanding incredible cover of this classic song. Wow!!!. Jeff Healy was soooo talented and agreed about being underrated.!
I am pretty sure Jimi would have been a big fan of Jeff for his incredibly original style. He's one of a kind like Jimi was. No one else has played guitar like this that i know of.
This is one of my fav song ever and in my opinion in this version Jeff takes it to another higher level. If it is possibile is better than the original !! Thank you !
cannot agree more. it's an absolutely mind blowing piece. I tend to arrive back listening to Jeff's play and it always goes deepest into my heart, nothing gets even close to that. he knew how to smash blues, just fantastic.
I’m not sure I’ve ever heard this? I’m fully aware of his while my guitar gently weeps. It’s one of my favourite guitar tunes ever. This is ripping so far
There’s something that I think is often overlooked about Jeff Healey playing standing up,… There’s something MISSING that makes him playing like that even more incredible,… There’s something that every other guitar player is using that he doesn’t even have on stage--and it blows my mind!!! What is it you ask???,…. It’s a simple “guitar strap”!!! To consider that there’s NOTHING holding his guitar up other than him--AND he’s playing it all while holding it without the aid of a strap exponentially ups the degree of difficulty!!! SIMPLY AMAZING!!!
Wow all the years I've wasted .I remember as a kid watching Jeff in roadhouse only in the last couple of years .I've started to look into Jeff more amazing guy .amazing talent
