Well, looks like Jerry watched my video, considering Bethic Twinstinct. Truth be told, I was always planning on making a Jerry apology video, but seems like now I'll have more to talk about! Jer, see you in about two to three weeks while I get to Odalia and my 100th video!
Your luck and these character retrospectives. Like you're not wrong in them when they come out, but then the show goes "time to get hit with the development bat!"
I think the funniest thing about this line is that it applies a lot to rick. For a long time he used Beth's pity to manipulate her so he could do whatever he wanted. It was only in the later seasons that beth and everyone else started standing up to rick and realized how even if he doesn't show it he's just as if not more pathetic than Jerry.
Thing is Rick is way more roastable than Jerry. Jerry could do it himself. Still unemployed Jerry. Yeah I am still unemployed with my low intelligence. Yet I am still there emotionally for my family where as you are unemployed with a job and unemployed from being a good father. Tell me which beth is the original again. Or perhaps we should talk about the fact that outside of this family you have no fucking even existing nevermind healthy relationships. Oh and why is that because you destroy all of them with your stupid choices and try to frame them as you being too smart and you not caring anyway due to believing nothing matters like an edgy 13 year old on tumblr in the 2000s. Even bird person left you. Sure I was divorced, but people came back to me whoever came back to you Rick. I am not weighting your daughter down. Your own cable tv showed us that if we weren't married Beth be an extremely successful surgeon and I be an extremely successful actor. We both made sacrifices for our relationship and family and not doing whatever the fuck you do out in space. And after all the planets you destroyed lives you ruined you dare call me pathetic. You call me a predator pretending to be a prey in order to lure their vicitims in through prey right. Your way worse you like every other Rick you despise went to a different Beth home and pretended to be her original Rick using pity while using her as bait and in the meantime doing whatever the fuck you been doing You have my son who is neurologically hardwired to please you but you can't even succeed in a relationship with him despite all that intelligence you had to build a crib for yourself in the universe.
@@NerdMiGerd I can understand where your coming from but to me a core tenant of pierces personality was the sheer audacity. He would be bigoted at the drop of a hat and not even wince. Jerry would flip flop, and apologize after being a dumbass. He doesn’t stand in his BS, where as pierce never budged.
@@haileys5224 True. I just meant in how they slowly ran out of things to do with each of them besides just being mocked by the writers for how pathetic and oafish they act.
Between begging Summer for money and the science fair/Pluto thing I think we can declare a new phrase. Pulling a Jerry - when someone attempts to look less pathetic, but does so in a way that actually makes them look worse.
Jerry Smith is a reflection of the contradiction in today's society. He is called off when he is trying to behave like the ideal man from his generation and attacked because he doesn't understands how to behave and act in today's world. But at the same time he is called a conformist, weak and a loser when he is portrayed as the everyday Joe. It's obvious why he is so insecure, nothing that he does is respected by his family, transforming him into someone selfish because he is all he has. That's why when a Jerry is in a apocalypsis he is now "cool" and "badass", because the world now returned to simplier times when the only rule is survival and that's it, so Jerry can let himself be free for once in his life. Jerry can be Jerry Smith the Man.
Yes It's not only that Jerry is a pathetic person, but also the whole world, the whole series, does whatever it can to make him look like the pathetic one in the varnish scene, if it was him the one who said that you could accidentaly do black face by using that varnish, the rest of the family would berate him for thinking on that and not surviving, or they would tell him to grow thicker skin or some shit
Thank you! I've always been a Jerry advocate lol. It's hard to improve when everyone is telling you how worthless they think you are. When the people closest to you take every chance they get to put you down and act like the smallest ounce of support would kill them, you're gonna get defensive, selfish, and start to tune all the criticisms out bc it's like, "well, I'm gonna get shit on no matter what I do, so why would I change myself to please the unpleasable?"
"It's obvious why he is so insecure, nothing that he does is respected by his family, transforming him into someone selfish because he is all he has." Damn dude... That hit a little too close to home. I just realized something about me and my own crap family... XD;;;
@@thealpacaofsupport258 Yet immediately after this he kills multiple versions of his own family because he was a coward And it was a stupid plan because they had ships that could fly, like trying to make a wet suit to swim when you have a boat
The fact that Jerry wants to take "2 strokes" off his game implies he must know his handicap which means he must at least have played one full game of golf if not more
Doesn’t really matter how much Jerry improves as a person because the Smith Sanchez family is still so toxic that they’re still gonna treat him like toilet paper no matter how well they get along
There's a point about Jerry that's being missed; he's not getting better despite being in a situation where he could easily improve. He commonly doesn't get better BECAUSE he's in a situation where he CAN'T easily improve. Here we have the smartest man in the universe, a man who is shown time and time again to be manipulative and petty, CONSTANTLY berating him and putting him down. Rick tears away at Jerry's confidence every moment he can. Even the unemployment issue is something plenty of people have. It's easy to look at them and say they are simply lazy, but there are only so many rejections you can get before you start to assume that a job application will be rejected; and when people expect failure in what they try? They stop trying. Sure, he's not perfect even accounting for this, he isn't supposed to be. But his confidence has been completely stripped away from him by Rick and most of his worst actions are just him not understanding the danger of the situation. Look at Cronenberg World Jerry, Look at Movie Star Jerry, look at Doofus Jerry. All of these Jerrys have two things in common: They don't have Rick in their lives and they are much more confident and capable people. You've said a few times that Rick could help Jerry get his footing back in life but that couldn't be farther from the truth. Jerry is actually a pretty well-written example of how emotionally manipulative people can tear a person apart while convincing said person and everyone around them that it is the fault of the person being torn down. Jerry was more confident at the start. He was more willing to use his authority and more well-reasoned in the plot; even having a situation where he was considering rubbing him being right in Beth's face before immediately realizing that his son is in danger and now is not the time to gloat. He lost this over time and only ended up growing after the divorce with his wife; when he had time without Rick in his life again. The speech where Rick called Jerry a predator was a great speech. Not because Rick was in the right; but because Rick showed how powerful good manipulation can be. Rick is the last person to call anyone a predator. Rick is the last person to accuse anyone else of using other people. But Rick is really good at putting himself into a position of utmost authority on a subject and talking with such conviction that the people he is talking to fully believe him. Remember; this is the man that was able to convince Summer and Morty that he could not care any less about them with such upmost certainty that every version of them was absolutely sure that Rick did not care in the slightest about them. This is despite the fact that we know that was a lie from him. Rick was not only to manipulate Jerry in this situation, he manipulated the AUDIENCE WATCHING IT. Sure Jerry isn't perfect, but with how many people act like he's literally the worst thing ever is impressive. Honestly, it's impressive. Jerry and his reception are a great study on the effects of manipulation and how the manipulated can truly believe that they are at the fault of everything in their lives and end up making it true because they don't have the confidence to rely on themselves anymore.
Dude you put all this so eloquently. This deserves to be the top comment cos this video doesn't seem to reflect any understanding of this at all. (No offense to Kitty, I usually enjoy her videos even if I don't fully agree. This one, for me, was a bit painful tho.) I hate that most of the fanbase hops on the "Jerry sucks" train so quickly with no consideration for how he's treated. I'm sure it's no coincidence that a big part of the fanbase also hates Dr. Wong, if you get my drift.
Exactly. Everyone around him emotionally abuses him and put him down every chance they get. Then people wonder why he's so weak and insecure. Genuinely makes me a little sad.
I couldn’t agree more, you worded this so well, I agree with every word, Idk how so many people fail to see it It genuinely just makes me so sad just seeing how fans perceive jerry as “he’s so horrible” , like wtf? Are they blind?????? Good comment bro, I’d read it over 100 times and like it 10,000 more
No, the point that Cronemberg Jerry shows is that Jerry is capable to be a Big Shot but because all his life cared about what others think of him and how every moral he has is time a time again destroy by cynicism he needs to be proud of him and focus on the things he likes. Dumb Rick said to him that he should appreciate the coins not because of the value others give them, but because Jerry liked them and held value to him. When Jerry was working with Bees although his family finded that Dumb he was seen as sexy because he did something he liked it and did it great. Jerry can be a great person If only he just moves on from the people that puts him down because they think they are "Smart" and Jerry "dumb".
It should have been obvious that was what would happen, and Rick warned him as well. Anyone knows making animals more intelligent could potentially mean they compete with us. It's pretty common knowledge to non-idiots. Of course Rick only made the dog slightly smarter. It was only by increasing the power of the device that Snowball was smart enough to further improve it, continuing that iteration until he was superior to most humans.
@@rifter0x0000 So you agree, Rick made the dog slightly smarter and then it got out of control. Rick is the one who made the device's output based on how many batteries are in it. Or could it be you're one of those dense fans who misses the point that Rick is not supposed to be idolized? Jerry faces his problems and grows from them. Rick literally runs to whole different timelines to avoid repercussions and responsibility. You're dumb and so is your argrument.
I think jerry is an important foil, his stupidity is contrasted with ricks smarts. And I do think hes pretty sympathetic hes insecure because rick hates him, and rick is basically a god. The sad thing is Rick probably hates jerry because rick is so insecure he cant stand another male figure in the family. Really the whole family is a mess of insecurity.
I won't even call Jerry stupid i would call him your average guy and the reason he is hated in the show and by the fans is because he reflects on us and you can see a piece of yourself in jerry
When did the show had confirmed this fan theory? Rick has many pathetic sides but clearly not this. Rick hated Jerry with a passion because he shot 20cc of dream killer inside Beth. And if you think about it you will also hate the gut out of some random shit leech that destroy your brilliant daughter.
The fact that Rick even wastes his time on hating someone like Jerry and going out of his way to be petty to him proves how equally pathetic Rick is. It's like if said god's past-time was playing pranks on ants.
Here's my opinion of Jerry, when he's written well, he's just the normal guy in a weird world, but that's not often the case. I like the writing when it's normal guy in weird world (like helping Beth through her existential crisis, Doofus Rick, and when he spoke to that App alien on dating) because it's a perfect foil for Rick. My issue is that the writers make Jerry the loser and universe's punching bag (it's not funny). I also hated Rick's speech to Jerry about him being a predator that thrives on pity when it's never applied to Jerry, he didn't get a job, Beth went back to him for answers, and Rick has no room to call anyone a parasite, considering his relationship with his daughter and the greater multiverse, leaving it as soon as it becomes doomed. The writers can't decide on making Rick this unstoppable Juggernaut of genius, or a miserable old man with infinite power that can't find happiness and screws himself over. They can't decide if Jerry is a normal man in a surreal world, or a selfish pathetic loser. Make Summer the punching bag for a while; I still think she's a massive bitch for that unneeded speech she gave about camping when he was completely right that Summer and Morty would not last a second in the real world.
@@GhostlyFyre because being a juggernaut to some extent means that he doesn't have restrictions like caring for other (as an example), and Jerry can be the normal man in a weird world, but that wouldn't make him stupid. Or at least not enough to be the constant punching bag. Being normal doesn't make you uncool
Eh, Summer in the episode just seems to be reflecting what the family feels about him, it's not right but it's been reinforced by the rest of the family. Also while I like Jerry, forcing you whole family to go on a camping trip no one else wants to do is not the best.
@@Parasolhyena I don't see her being this level of bitch to Beth when they went to therapy. It's a camping trip, it might not be fun, but that's no excuse to be a horrid person, especially when Jerry makes a valid point about how they wouldn't last a day without their tech or rick's tech. Morty gets bothered by Jerry too, but he was civil about how much he hates it, even acknowledges that Jerry was right. I do wish there was an episode that shows the family may not like Jerry or his averageness, but they need him. So often the show makes fun of Jerry, and it's tiresome. If the family don't need him, then get rid of him and keep Beth and Jerry divorced.
I think this is the main crux on why Jerry is either liked or disliked. The writers can't make up their minds and that is a reason why so many have tuned out of Rick and Morty. By Season 3 they saw the fallacies of the writers and their inability to back up all their pseudo-intellectual bullshit; or Dan Harmon's infinite nihilism is rather unhealthy and doesn't make for long term series that don't have an episodical reset button. Once they started putting more effort into Rick and Morty, and became 'story heavy' their falls became bare. Am I upset they tried to put some meat to Rick and Morty? No, they just have gone about it in ways that are more flash and projecting intelligence, but are flat when put under a microscope. I think also making the characters too unlikable was just too much for some, like I said the nihilism after a fashion can be your undoing even if it's a core feature. After awhile, people cannot take it anymore without a good breather, or something to make the nilhism bareable. The writers keep f*cking that up and ruin everything at least in MY opinion. I don't harsh anyone who still enjoys Rick and Morty. Part of me WANTS to watch it again as clips and tidbits look juicy but I find myself everytime finding the same flaws that turn me off.
I'm sorry but the first part of the things "wrong" with Jerry aren't actual problems I mean yeah he's dumb and does go to the victim role A LOT but he honestly is a victim some for some of these scenarios and people are WAY to mean to him.
To be fair the point Jerry makes at breakfast is the only good point he makes for that entire pilot episode, I mean like 5 minutes later he walks in on his wife in the middle of a surgery to start an argument with while simultaneously belittling the fact that she's "only" a horse surgeon.
@@DragonGoddess18 I know right, for all the credit people give him as a “overall decent guy” he’s very quick to put others down or pounce on their mistakes, even if he has no business doing so.
@@jaohonaxa That was mostly season one when they were still figuring Jerry out by later seasons he's mostly the punching bag and only really calls out Rick
The Pluto thing is only partially because it's orbital path isn't cleared of debris, it's mostly because charon, Pluto's largest moon, is so massive, compared to pluto, that charon doesn't actually orbit pluto, they mutually orbit a point that's like 1/3 of the way between the 2
Doofus Rick doesn’t actually eat poop; the other Rick’s mock and start rumours about that particular Rick because regardless of being just as intelligent, he shows empathy, and Ricks see that as weakness. Aside from that, you made a very good case in your argument, even if I don’t completely agree with the overall takeaway. For me, Jerry represents someone who is just a regular human, and is mostly a stand-in for the audience, but a regular human who the writers can make act terrible and pathetic to further the plot and use for the punchline.
I mean even past the pilot I think Jerry fits that role quite well. None of us are immune of being pathetic, arrogant, or all-around cringey especially around others more knowledge than us, and I think Jerry embodies that secondhand embarrassment really well. Basically everyone who thinks they're Rick is more accurately a Jerry.
@@Eric6761 I think I agree to an extent. The main thing is just that I don't think the writers really know what to do with him right now, mainly because his role as Rick's antagonist was pretty much resolved through the divorce arc in season 3. But, again, I think we've all been that pathetic jerk he is at certain points in our lives. Jerry is still an everyman, but Rick and Morty is just more willing to address the faults of everyday people.
He had his moments in the third and fourth season, certainly, winning back Beth, being a waterboy, making halfway decent decisions, etc - and the camping plan. He can, in theory, bounce back.
As the shows gone on, I've honestly found him to one of the more likeable characters. ( Though that may be due to how much more critical of the characters I've become)
This video is pretty wrong. Meseeks are a stretch, especially since meseeks could have taught him the basics instead of throwing him into the deep end but I can kind of get what youre saying. The dog one was a bit off, I mean, RICK is the one who gave it the ability to learn a superiority complex, I mean seriously, pay 500 dollars to train your pet or have a freeloader genius do a favor for you to make your dog smart, who wouldn't want that. The simulation episode is kind of just him being dumb, I mean even Morty needed rick to tell him, if I woke up and everyone acted weird my first thought wouldn't be simulation, but yes, that was him being dumb. I can see the rest so far as I've only watched half the video. Cmon, Tammy being used as a ventriloquist dummy was a smart idea, also I doubt he knew anything about her, after all, she was also pretty sexual and bird person married her, so cmon, that was a bit harsh. Pluto wasn't that serious, but then again Jerry was so annoying. I typically agree with you, but some of this was just not it, Jerry got off his high horse for Morty, so that says SOMETHING. Glad you didn't berate him for the vat of acid episode, if we were to berate anyone in that episode, it would be rick, he was so petty he ruined a couple morties, made morty agree with his stupid plan, and was an asshole overall. You can't berate Jerry for the wooden Jerry, that's dumb. The rest of the stuff I get, but that's a lot of wrong stuff for a video with only so much stuff.
I agree so much. This video needs a bit of psychological insight as well. On Tammy, I'm honestly very confused on what Kitty's point was there? They made it sound like Jerry was being sexual with Tammy's literal dead body and I'm so confused where that interpretation comes from in the slightest.
Jerry is a very very flaw man but he does actually care about his family well atleast was written that way before everyone in the family and writers wanted to be a Rick and treat Jerry as Meg especially in season 3 for reals they really hammered in how Jerry sucks and was later made fun of as it shows how toxic the family was and how all of them gang up on him it took Jerry becoming a Rick, someone who just doest care anymore to make morty HIS UNIVERSE MORTY, respect him and say he's cool Jerry is hated for superficial reasons or because he doesn't strock Rick ego like the rest of the family
I think Rick is actually jealous of Jerry. Rick originally wanted to quit this science thing to be happy and live a family life, even declining Rick C-137's offer of interdementional travel. But then his family was killed by C-137 to force him to go the science route. Rick wishes he could be as happy as Jerry is, but he's forced to be smart and unhappy because of that Rick. Essentially, Rick's goal is to kill C-137 and become more like Jerry, finally being happy enough in his life to stop pursuing science.
I think at this point Rick would do science regardless, but I understand what you mean otherwise. I think he is jealous of jerry, but I also think that it's mixed with pity and condescension. It's telling that now that Jerry is starting to self-actualize somewhat, accepting his nature as a predator / prey animal, they are getting along a lot better and shown to have more in common. When I say predator or prey animal I mean like a cat. They are wired to do either fight or flight at any given time, because they can either be the king of any situation or a target. which is why they can never make up their minds. Middle of the food chain for the win!
I agree with most of your points except the last one. Mr. Frundles destroying the planet is Rick's fault. Jerry knew nothing about Mr. Frundles and what it can do, but Rick knew everything about it, and he did nothing with it. Rick didn't try to take it from Jerry's hand, didn't tried to contain it or kill it, nah he just let it happen. Also the fact that Rick brought that thing here in the first place.
I was thinking that too. Rick didn't try to warn Jerry not to open it until he was already doing so. He was more worried about Jerry going into his room.
@@HopAndLockDropSoppityPop Also Rick had that thing in his room to begin with. XD Just bc it was "Cute". Jerry had no way of knowing better but Rick absolutely did. So, that one? Ttly on Rick. XD
@@kymo6343 Right?? "It was cute" is no excuse to bring a potentially dangerous alien into his family's house. Jerry had every right to want it out. And frankly, the fact that Rick repeatedly brings dangerous creatures into the house and hides it from the family gives Jerry all the reason in the world to invade Rick's spaces.
@@HopAndLockDropSoppityPop Honestly, Rick deserves a Roast at least as much as Jerry. XD Rick is easily worse than Jerry but people give him a pass because he's entertaining. But Rick is literally like... A threat to all existence in all multiverses. That's a wee bit worse than just being personally pathetic. XD;;
Definitely. We see in the toxic episode how many hidden compartments Rick has installed around the Smith household, yet he keeps Mr. Frundles in a basic animal cage in his bedroom? How does he not expect it to be opened not just by Jerry, but by Morty or anyone who stumbles into him?
30:18 You can literally see in the scene that Jerry dropped the remote. He grabbed the one in Morty's bag because he thought it was the one he just dropped. Granted, they look nothing alike, but he hadn't looked at the one he knocked over in the first place
Parks and Rec : has a human punching bag named Jerry Rick and Morty : has a human punching bag named Jerry Parks and Rec is inside the Rick and Morty universe?
Honestly main Jerry is a lot better now that he's finally conquered one of his demons (realizing thanks to Rick his 'main move' is being so pathetic that people feel sorry about him) and has actively tried to improve himself. Season 1 Jerry also became a heartbroken badass. But Season 2 Jerry is the absolute worse.
Anyway all your points are poorly thought out, Jerry actually deals with consequences and grows as a character through the show where Rick literally runs from his problems to another dimension. I feel like you're missing the point of the show
But you don't understand. The guy who gets manipulated and verbally abused regularly is a bad guy. Rick is based and red pilled bc he beats a man that's already down. He gets to because he's smarter than Jerry. Being average is the ultimate sin. Jerry is bad for being affected by manipulation and verbal abuse. Victims are bad people for feeling like victims. (10000% sarcasm)
31:41 Something I find funny is that in this scene Morty says that Jerry could end up doing Black face by accident to disregard Jerry's idea, but because the Jerry is always meant to be the punch bag of every joke. I am 100% sure if it was the other way around, the rest of the family wanted to use the varnish to survive, and it was Jerry who commented you could accidentaly do Black face, the rest fo the family would be be bothered and tell him that it's better to survive or that he needs to grow thicker skin or some shit Not saying you should root for Jerry, he is consistently a dick in a lot of episodes, but I finded this mental exercise funny, lol
5:31 It's something that actually works for training a dog if they return to a bad habit. If they're puppies, it's not recommended, but if they start peeing on carpets after being trained not to, it's effective
I love Jerry. With how capable and independent everyone in the family has become I think we need a more vulnerable and realistic character so it doesn't feel like everyone acts the exact same way.
I love him too! I find him relatable by how much his family cuts him down, then blames him for having insecurities or feeling like a victim. Why wouldn't someone feel like a victim when they're constantly victimized by the people closest to them? Ofc that and assertiveness are definitely things to work on, but you don't get much opportunity to grow when you're constantly in such a nasty, invalidating environment that no matter what you say or do, everyone tells you you're incompetent and worthless. It's like beating someone up, then berating them for having bruises, or the bruises not healing fast enough for your liking. Also, IDC what anyone says. Jerry is hilarious.
@@HopAndLockDropSoppityPop Agreed! The fact that he is constantly egged on by everyone on screen yet stays positive and true to himself is what makes him an endearing character to me.
@KittyMonk When you do the Beth video, take into account the fact that it is actually harder to become a veterinarian (not a vet tech) than it is a human doctor for a few reasons. 1. There are fewer veterinary schools than there are medical schools in the US and in general. 2. The GPA required to get into veterinary schools is far higher than what it is for medical school. 3. You have to learn about far more different body types and species as a vet than for a doctor. Beth at the very least also had to learn about how to operate on and treat cats and dogs (due to being the 2 most popular type of pet), cows, pigs, sheep, goats and likely llamas (all normal livestock animals along with horses). There’s also donkeys, ponys (considered a separate type of horse) and mules (all types of equines Beth likely had to treat as well. And she did this as a teen mom. Goes to show how truly intelligent she is.
What if Mr. Frundles is a bioweapon? That explains why he, a worldkiller, can be stored in a normal-looking cat carrier without any negative repercussions (until he's let out).
Oh thank God, someone else noticed. How TF is a direct request for an (usually) attainable goal more difficult than such vague and complicated concepts like "make me popular" or "make me a complete woman"??? Especially the last one. Like, okay, you want to be a more complete woman? Go through years of trauma, spend too much time blaming yourself for things that aren't your fault, heal from it all, get to know yourself better, then learn to love yourself and pursue what makes you happy. Yeah, totally a concept that can be achieved over dinner just bc some blue guy tells you you're already great or whatever 😂
Eh... I definitely don't agree with this video at all, usually I do but this wasn't it for me. Literally everything you mentioned was done in some kind of comedic way or if Jerry WAS in the wrong he was openly punished for what he did. The only points I can agree on are Kiara and the purge episode since they weren't really funny and they also didn't have Jerry getting punished. Jerry is a pathetic character and a bad father but at least the show KNOWS that and openly admits it. But with Beth it almost seems like they're blind to it despite how they're JUST as open about how much of an awful mother she is. Jerry is my fave character in Rick and Morty just because out of the entire family he's the only one that doesn't have me rolling my eyes at least once an episode, especially with Summer. Rick and Morty are generally funny and Beth has never been all that good (space Beth not included). Jerry is pitiful which means he doesn't have to say some stupid Marvel one liner or sarcastically over thought out comment. He can just be dumb, pathetic and silly and he doesn't need much more, his character development still existing. The part in Season 6 Episode 1 where he just took the shit from his other family without responding was such a cool way to show how mature he's gotten over the series.
People are pretty harsh on Jerry. Some of it justified and a lot of it not. For example Jerry is right about how Rick is ruining their child. He's also right about Summer and Morty when they went camping on a planet Rick banged. They focus too much on getting drugged up and high. You're right about Mr Meseeks. Also when Jerry went on about Mars not being a planet. Also Jerry wanting money from Summer. I like Jerry beekeeping so wholesome.
Finally a fellow soul who hates mayonnaise. Eugh. Never had Burger King screw it up, but I once went to Wendy’s on my lunch break, asked for a Baconator with ketchup only, got my food and drove away. It was Mayo only. I did not eat that day.
I have always flippin hated Jerry, and anytime I hear the voice I'm reminded of Jerry. But props to the VA able to do Jerrys patheticness so believable
I'm neutral to regular Jerry, but f**k Wood Jerry. The dude abandoned his family just for some varnish, and got karma so deliciously ironic, Diva from Musical Hell would be proud.
Jerry is the worst. He weaponizes his whiny and pathetic nature and uses it to manipulate people. But that was past jerry. And the worst we’ve seen of Jerry was actually with Woodworks Jerry from that Decoy Family episode. Then again he may end up sacrificing his family just to save himself
I find it funny that so many people complained about Pluto not being a planet, but never gave a shit about Ceres or Eris. The latter actually being more massive (but slightly smaller in size) than Pluto.
While I don't agree with your takes a lot, Kitty Monk, you put in a lot of work and it shows. I respect the hell out of you as a content creator. I don't even watch Rick and Morty and I am watching your video on it.
Is so weird you made a whole episode roasting Jerry, yet you didn't mention the whirly dirle conspiracy at all: like that part where Rick says Jerry is actually a predator who uses pity to lure his prey is so savage
Because Rick was projecting with most of that speech Dude openly admitted to saving his grandkids for no other reason than to manipulate Beth into dumping Jerry, and he's constantly shown as a parasite both to the people around him and to the entire multiverse
I would like to point out something, specifically the time he essentially killed Morty via reset. He used that as a TV remote, a freaking TV remote! It only has two buttons! At most it could have been confused for a garage clicker, but no way in any earth or any other planet would it be confused for a TV remote
The recipe for concentrated dark matter is one of my favorite jokes in all Rick and Morty, Is two parts plutonic quarks (pink) and one part cesium (green), boom
Jerry: -Didn't pull out on prom night -Opened Pandora's Box -Has a selfcest fetish -Ruined his son's relationship -Threw his children under the bus during a nasty breakup
After watching this Jerry is just a bad person cowardly and selfishly, at least Beth would come out say I'll kill you with no hesitation. But, the only scene i like him in is the ones with doofus Rick and that's because i love doofus Rick which means Jerry can't exist without somebody being cooler than him
I would kill for some bobs burgers kitty monk vids. Ive always been interested in startin a business and bobs burgers has been one of my favorite shows.
"He knows I hate going to Burger King and having to ask for no mayo!" They don't even keep mayo off of the Impossible Whopper-you know, their VEGAN option. This is why I go to Duffy's instead.
I really hated jerry too. I thought he was super annoying and pathetic and it was clear he was using peoples pity to his advantage. And having dealt with people like him. I absolutely hate it. He thinks hes smarter than he is and throws people under the bus when he cant get their pity like when he threw his kids under the bus with that alien he dated, i think her name was kiara but i cant remember. They wouldnt break up with her for him so he painted them as sexist racist that didnt want their father with an alien (depsite morty greeting her in her native tongue respectfully) when it was him being the sexist racist all along. I dont see how anyone can like jerry after that.
Unrelated questions, do you feel like Willow's arc was incomplete and felt like there wasn't any closure with her. Like with her rekindling her friendship with Amity, and also her dynamic with Boscha? Do you feel like they could have done more with Amity and Willow's friendship? Also, do you feel like Boscha had the potential to have more character development and a possibly interesting redemption arc? Since they did one with Mattholomule? Do you think characters like Gus, Hooty, Lilith, Emira, Edric, bat Queen, Skara, Viney, and some other minor characters could have the potential for a little more development? Do you think that Hunter's arc tends to overshadow things like Luz's friendship with Gus and Willow, Gus and Willow, and other characters' development? Do you think Luz should have gotten Flapjack instead of Hunter? Should Hunter have stayed a villain and been a more tragic villain, or at least an independent hero who doesn't side with anyone? Do you think King was somewhat mistreated by Luz and co? Ya know with being left out, got getting apologies from those that wronged him (cupcake, bird cage, the carnival, etc)?
I don't think Rick would counterfeit. He loves money as he stated in story train. Well Rick being smart knows that making fake money just hurts the value. Plus why make fake money when you can make anything else and just sell it for all the moneys
If you're talking about the scene towards the end where he's congratulating Morty for spending money on the train, I don't think that was like.. an actual Rick opinion lol. It felt more to me like meta commentary or satire about capitalism. It's kind of like when he was ranting about buying Nintendo games.. I feel like there's a better example I'm not thinking of tho. Also on making fake money hurting the value of money, I feel like Rick is smart enough to know there's no actual value in money, just that humans place meaningless value onto it.
@@HopAndLockDropSoppityPop My best rebuttal would be that Rick has seen how a decentralized universe runs. He is more than capable of doing so thanks to season 3 premiere. But I'm just going off my own crackpot theories lol
Jerry is a great character and I hate him. he annoys me so bad. I think because he is the most realistic character. He’s unaware, he’s selfish, he’s insecure, but also, he never really had a chance. He is like a lot of men, who fail to live up to standards of masculinity, but also passively exist in that system. The system brakes down his will, and he allows himself to be a punching bag. He comes across as pathetic, self-victimizing and totally incapable, because his innate skills (emotional intelligence) are undervalued especially in men, meaning he is seen as worthless. Instead of rejecting that system, he resents his exclusion but doesn’t try to make his life better or make any improvement to the world at all.
Yes please! Roast this man I’ve had enough about how nice he is and how he’s so innocent and kind, show me some roast worthy material please I’m sick of this man!
