@@OhMyGoshIndia There were so many good ballads from this time including Words Get in the Way by Gloria Estefan(Miami Sound Machine), Always by Atlantic Starr, Tender Love by Force MDs, Love me Down by Ready for the World, Broken Wings by Mister Mister, All my Love by Trinere
She had (and has) great voice. If want to hear crazy good voice of young singer, check out Stacy Lattisaw, she has so many songs before leaving biz at about 21 or 22 after having too duet with neighborhood friend Johnny Gill. Stacys songs are still sampled today
I genuinely love that the new generation is taking an interest in some of the 80s songs that I grew up with. It's one thing for me to preach about how awesome our music was. It's quite another for the younger crowd to actually TRY it for themselves and experience these hits for the first time.
I luved this song. Released in 1986, I turned 26. The Jets had several hits over a 4 or 5 year span. I luved them all too. I saw them live, I. Concert at Kings Dominion, in 1988. They turned it out live also!
I was born as well in 1972-- she was actually 13. Remarkable story behind this song and talent nonetheless! Our high school won a concert competition to have the Jets play a concert there in 1988(?). "You Got It All" is a song recorded by American band the Jets. It was released in 1986 as the fourth single from their debut studio album The Jets (1985). It was written by Rupert Holmes, most famous for the 1979 hit "Escape (The Piña Colada Song)", and produced by Don Powell (not to be confused with Slade's drummer) and David Rivkin. Holmes wrote it for his 10-year-old daughter Wendy but she never got to hear it become a hit, as prior to its release she died suddenly of an undiagnosed brain tumour.[1] The song features the second youngest member of the group, then-13-year-old Elizabeth Wolfgramm, on lead vocals.
@@algallego possibly although I read on Wikipedia she recorded the song before her birthday in August either way it's overwhelmingly impressive she has such a great voice for that age
Love their music I was a teenager in 87 in Houston Tx At the time we had teen night at various clubs I saw them live twice at The Island Club I happened to be by the side exit while they were leaving and I congratulated them for a great performance and they heard me and said Thank You I was surprised they were down to earth very nice
This is my favorite Jets song and never fails to bring me back to that time. Their songs really encapsulate being young in the eighties and were huge at the time with a number of hits. I would suggest checking out "Crush on You" and "Curiosity" for something more upbeat, or "Make It Real" if you liked what you just watched.
What a great song and also reaction video. This song takes me back in time to younger, happier times. It’s awesome to see your reactions and see you vibrate to this amazing tune. I’ve seen your video many times. Just wanted to let you know that. Good job keep being so cool and I wish you all the best.
You got me choked up on this one. It was nostalgia overload and I love the way you were feeling it. You reacted the way it was supposed to be felt. This song will always remind me of the best part of the 80's ... very close to my heart. Good job!
This brings me back to when I first met my wife. I thought that I was so smooth. In reality, she was in charge. She was so cute with the nerdy glasses, and the retainer. I fell in love the first time she asked me "Are you looking at me?" So long ago, but I remember it as if it were last week. She still looks the same, and I just got older. Well, she no longer needs the retainer, and her hair is no longer covered in Aqua net. I still sweat when she comes near me, and my hands still sweat when she reaches for them.
Don’t think I wasn’t playing this over and over as a teen in the 80’s!! Most definitely! Another great one is Lisa, Lisa, and Cult Jam, “All Cried out”. That one for dang sure! Pleeease react to it India! I remember singing (Trying anyway lol) “all cried out” a LOT! Those teenage years girl! 🤷🏼♀️. 💗🤘🏼✌️
I lived in Minneapolis 1984-1991 and met this wonderful family from Tonga...awesome young musicians...check out "CRUSH ON YOU"...superior dance choreography and audio production in that one..thanks INDIA REACTS
*India* Ty for reacting...It was a touching and beautifull song about a female`s gratitude towards a New Love that gave her a reason for hope.....It moved me,the general feelings that came from the song....Made me cry a little from the fact that my major Empathy had me feel the Joy and the gratitude from the female`s views on her wonderful position...I Even sang A bit like her, from my feeling the feelings I got from the song..Heck,I even think I kind of sounded like her,and you n The Jets inspired me to open ENOUGH to try..Ty to you n her! You got my Thumbs Up!
This was such a huge hit back in the 80’s and is my all time favorite song and music video from the 80’s. I can’t believe many other RU-vid reactors still haven’t reacted to this classic , much less any one of the Jets many hits!
I couldn't believe she was 12..when she sung this. My GF had broke up me but this other girl that knew her didnt like how she did me. So she 😊😊. I was 17 I had my music lined up to talk on phone & this was one of them
I remember having the biggest crush on the lead singer, Elizabeth Wolfgramm, back in those days when I was a kid. Whenever she sung, she melted my heart. Beautiful voice! It was so sad how the group got screwed over by their record company, and even worse how their family/group members tore themselves apart afterward. :(
I was in my 20s in the 80s when this song came out. To me. Songs like this have a place in my heart. Because of the experiences. Dancing with a young lady in my arms. It leaves a lasting memory. Things were simple. In my prime. Only to enjoy the emotions. Not to say complicating ones life is bad. Everyone has to grow up. But reflections of a simpler time brings a smile to my face.
Thankyou for review as my man JV's been AWOL. Loving to see you flush, and then fanning your face after 4:05 It's most def a throwback to a better time, nearly a decade before auto-tune began. We needed to hear the texture of the voice, because the song is so heartfelt, I can remember where I was, living in Queens back in '88, when I finally heard it clear, start-to-finish. I was in back of a cab on a Sunday morning. Mayor Rudy Giuliani had not yet cleaned up New York, but it was still better than what we have today. "I Miss You" is also a touching tune by the same band.
“This next song is a couples skate. So grab your guy, or grab your girl ‘cause we’re gonna turn the lights down low, and skate real slow. This ones for couples, and couples only!” 🎶
India, here’s what I liked about your commentary. You connected emotionally to the narrative of the lyrics in a way that was open and receptive. For me, as a man, it gave me a totally different angle on how to experience the song. (I’m listening to it for vocal quality, range, arrangement.) Another impressive thing is that you didn’t judge the style of the video which was created in a different era and aesthetic. You enjoyed it. Great work, India!
Much love for being the first reaction channel I've seen reacting to this song from The Jets. Grew up listening to them during my junior high school days. Classic R&B music. Thanks for posting!
I loved the Jets as a teenager back in the 1980s, and this song was one of my favorites. Please react to "Crush On You' and "Rocket to U" by them too. Love your reactions.
This is one of my favorite songs! So glad you reacted to it, India. Your reaction almost made me tear up. I love when you react to 80's music. If you could, please check out "Promises, Promises" by Naked Eyes. Hope you feel better soon.
The Jets...I was OBSESSED with them back in the day. Had every cassette and I probably still have a couple of their Vinyl records somewhere. If you haven't already, you should check out "Crush On You"...I think it was their biggest hit.
The crazy part of this song is that she was maybe 12 years old and she even said she had difficulty connecting to the song because she was just too young to understand. Crush On You and Make It Real are their other hits.
I was walking through the airport when this song played super loud in a shop. I was making my way home, I'd met again after 32years, the boy who broke my heart in 1987. This song tugged my heart and he was heavy on my mind. We hooked up, fell even more madly in love and I got to spend the best 4years of my life with my sweet love till he passed away end of 2019. Forever mine.. Rhyan I miss you every single day.
The singer Rupert Holmes thought of his daughter while writing this song. RH is known for the Pina Colada Song. The Jets were a teen band. 9 brothers and sisters of Polynesian descent living in Minnesota, home state of Prince.
Hi India The Jets Are an awesome Band a family band from Minnesota The Wolfgramm Family Lead singer Elizabeth is only 12 yrs old when she sang this tune The group had 8 top 10 hits in 5 yrs 1985-90 and did 3 world tours One of the Most Underrated groups ever I Love their sound & music

This was popular when I met my husband and I had just got out of a toxic relationship so this was our song. Lots of slow dances to this great song. Love you liked it too. I'm so old. And we've been married for 32 years. Miss the Jets. They are so talented.
I loved the Jets! Elizabeth has such a beautiful voice and she was so young when she sang this song! Love your reaction, made me happy you enjoyed the song😊
