Im 32 years old and stumbled upon Gomer Pyle one day and have been a huge Jim Nabors fan since! Man that guy was so talented I wish I could've watched his shows live but having you upload this is amazing thank you so much!
From stories I have heard, people would walk on the beach near Jim Nabors home, not knowing it was his property, they would sit on a bench at the end of a path, and quite often, Jim Nabors would be out walking and the next thing the people sitting on the bench was "Golly" and he would sit next to them and talk with them, and sometime invite them up to his house for a lemonade or ice tea.
