Eddie was my client for many years when I worked in Media Distribution and from the first call I got from him we talked like we were old friends and no matter how much I asked him about Jimmy and guitars and techniques and songs he always engaged me and spoke long and lovingly with me about Jimi. What a blessing in my life it has been to have Eddie as a client and I consider him a friend. And Hendrix is part of us all indeed.

I got this record as a Christmas gift when I was 16. I was expecting Foxey Lady and Purple Haze, you know..the songs on the radio. But what I got instead was the real "Art". Played it on repeat all the time, and this record got me through one of the toughest times of my young life at that time. Bless you Jimi and the Experience. That album a blessing of light in my darkest hours.

The feels Kramer probably got when he just naturally looked in the live room as if Jimi was in there turning the page. Its not everyday you do a full recall of a session on a console, thats a lot of work and gear to fire up.. The clarity you hear when in this environment would be exactly as if the person was there. Almost creepy but probably nice to hear an old friend once and awhile. To work with someone like Jimi would have been an honor, as well as Kramer.

Something just occurred to me, falls, melts, slips is the progression, first it falls into then it melts into and then it slips off into the sea. It is a great analysis of a sand castle on the sea shore and a great metaphor of things we hold to be permanent in our life.

@ShadowDrake102
@ShadowDrake102 6 лет назад
@@johnr8820 it's not actually an F chord, it's a bunch of different major chords with a minor on the end. I can't explain it very well, but if it was on E major, the pink is on the G note on the E string. Does a really tense major minor thing that's awesome Also BTW he means the outro/intro quick chords slides.

Many of us have our own imagination that we relate to the lyrics. None of my visions of the lyrics match up with the documentary interpretation. Example: I like to think the 2nd verse is about an Indian boy that dreamed of being a warrior, but was killed in the first battle. Not about brother Leon being taken away by Child Protective Services The following is from a documentary that says the song is all about Hendrix's childhood. First verse is about Hendrix parents arguing. Which eventually led to divorce when Hendrix was ten years old. "Castles made out of sand drift into the sea eventually" Second verse is about Jimi's brother Leon. Before Leon was ten he played Cowboys And Indians with Jimi at the park. Leon was also taken from the welfare before he was ten. "Surprise attack killed him in his sleep that night." Last verse is about his mother. When his mother and father argued she would always regret to talk back because it was always just arguing. When Jimi and his brother visit their Mother in the hospital she was in a wheelchair. Golden wing ship passed her way and brought her to heaven.

You know one of the greatest blues guitarist in the world, Robert Johnson, recorded his enter album in one take? Just him and his guitar in a room with a microphone, recorded non-stop. Most of today's "artists" spend a lot of time in studios because they have to compress and add all these effects and make the musician sound better than they really are. If you are a guitarist and write a song, you should know it well enough to play it spot on, first try. If not, go practice more.

upgrader99 the beatles took 10s of takes for some of their songs that's why the songs sound refined although they had limited technology, the aim is to not race to the fastest recorded song, it's to produce a good record and Jimi hendrix though his playing was brilliant and the songwriting was great the recording was shit

Down the street, you can hear her scream, "You're a disgrace" As she slams the door in his drunken face And now he stands outside And all the neighbors start to gossip and drool He cries, "Oh girl, you must be mad What happened to the sweet love you and me had?" Against the door he leans and starts a scene And his tears fall and burn on the garden green This is not imagination. This is what Jimi Hendrix experienced as a child. His mother and father were drunkards and violent ones at that. He was shuffled from relative to relative because his parents couldn't take care of him and his brother. They physically were unavailable to do it and financially unable to do it. It deeply effected him throughout the rest of his life. He was emotionally scarred and music, especially the guitar, became his refuge to escape the nightmares of his adolescence. "After returning from service, Al reunited with Lucille, but his inability to find steady work left the family impoverished. They both struggled with alcohol, and often fought when intoxicated. The violence sometimes drove Hendrix to withdraw and hide in a closet in their home. His relationship with his brother Leon (born 1948) was close but precarious; with Leon in and out of foster care, they lived with an almost constant threat of fraternal separation" When Jimi was 9 his parents divorced and his father was granted custody of him and his brother Leon. 7 years later his mother died from a ruptured spleen as a result of the fact she had cirrhosis of the liver. She was 33. "Al refused to take James and Leon to attend their mother's funeral; he instead gave them shots of whiskey and instructed them that was how men should deal with loss"

I think Chas was very important for Jimi's career. He made him sing and write songs. He made Jimi feel welcome and important and grounded. On the other hand when Jimi really became more confident and experimental Chas was lost and wanted to stick to the 3 minute songs and cutting down studio time. If Jimi had listened to Chas, he would never have made songs like 1983. He might have lived longer but that is all just guessing.

When was the first ever recorded performance of Jimi Hendrix? 66' 67' We know that Electric Ladyland came out in 67' And he was already into blues music when he was in highschool. all his friends wanted to sound like him. After school Jimi would get his fender and play and the other kids really digged his sound. He also played with a few bands before "The Exsperiance" came together, with Chas. He would have played in night clubs, it wouldn't have been long before someone picked him up. Everybody thought Eric Clapton was god until Jimi came on the sceen. If you ever had or ever find "The Exsperiance" Box set collection that includes "Electric Ladyland" "The Exsperiance" and "Axis Bold As love" The inlet and small bio reveals a lot about Jimi's relation to Chas, Noel and Mitch. And how they worked together. I wish I still had the bio with the set, it exsplained a lot. How they came up with writing songs and the sounds Jimi used. .
