20 minutes. Wind Cries Mary. 20 minutes. That perfect solo. Mitch playing all those accents. 20 minutes. I can't even ...

Most arguments for a God or a divine being, outside of nature, fall flat to me. But then, every time I listen to the guitar solo on this song, I’m pretty sure there is a transcendent power in the universe, and Hendrix was wired right to the core.

@@Nominay I don't know if I'd call the solo "simple". It's melodic, but coming up with a perfect line over those last few non-standard chord changes is not a piece of cake. Jimi's not just playing a scale. But I guess when you're a genius ... you can do it in 20 minutes. For me, the only comparable guitarist is David Gilmour. His solos were slow, but express so much. But I'm guessing he took longer than 20 minutes to come up with the solo for "Another Brick in the Wall".

The Axis album is the favorite of many...but I feel that ELL captured a wider range of Jimi and his guitar mastery at that point in time...so much great music, and it was put together while they were touring!...no wonder Jimi got burned out...little sleep, too many drugs and women..oh well, at least he gave it his all, for us to enjoy.

The whole Hendrix team working together was magical. Only through documentary footage like this can we realize how each person involved helped cut the facets of the gem that was the Jimi Hendrix Experience! The fact that finally there were frictions & recriminations is nothing, nothing at all. Art is the product of human beings and as humans we all (as it is said) have feet of clay.

Ever notice how the lead guitar and vox are on the left channel; the bass and drums are on the right channel & the rhythm guitar is in the center? I found this out when a speaker wire got disconnected! Word to the wise: have both speakers working when listening to Jimi, or the Beatles for that matter. You will not hear everything. Still it's the work of genius. How many albums today will give you the same stereo experience? On an unrelated topic, how many started singing along during this video?
