Sofia Coppola is like a privileged L.A. girl of the '70s and '80s with a quirky and artistic perspective. People bash her and her movies as if they expect something else.
High Octane should qualify for a Gen X pop culture hall of fame. Oh, dude, Portishead? Seriously? Our hipsters were cooler than yours. I'm going to go listen to De La Soul and Sebadoh now.
Portishead is incredible music but they do seem to be the go-to to be named by people trying to sound cool and "in the know" about music not everyone listens to.
jon was awfully smug & surly in this interview considering that he was nobody then. Kneejerk sarcasm turned up to 10. granted they are pretty bad at promoting their own show.
+kathleen smith Coppola wrote and directed Lost in Translation which was pretty amazing. There may be an element of nepotism but nothing was guaranteed to them, there is a lot of children of way more famous people who have done absolutely nothing. You just sound bitter.
