Texas where coyotes are a problem and whenever I let my puppy outside night or day I am vigilant that she won’t be attacked. O my gosh Nanny, I am turning 80 in September and my grandchildren always help me up and walk on either side of me when going out, they are loving caring and I adore them. I am a widow widow and have macular degeneration and can’t drive so my sons and family are wonderful, we all live close.❤️

Loved the video nanny Thankyou,my 4 daughters all have the same shoe sizes too ,as me😀I had trouble getting out of a hotel bath ,only use showers now.I anmire how you look after moose, my husband is 86and despite several conus illnesses he us pretty active,he felt dizzy and faint the other day ,I panic ,one of my daughters us a nurse,a sister in a hispital and so lovely and kind ,after taking my mother out snooping ,a meal and wedding her garden ,she came to us to reasure us, like you we are so blessed. I wish I could see you in person 😅 but feel I have a friend in you ,Thankyou.❤❤

I am 80 yo when I go out i am usually with one of the Family members they all offer to collect me and bring me places.They are all right there for me taking my hand or seeing to it that I am taken care of. I appreciate it so much.

I can so relate😆. Even my 3 year old granddaughter holds her little arm out to help me up or down a curb. Great idea about the special bag for the toilet riser👍. My daughter had an extra tall commode installed for my birthday. Major indignity:I had to call my daughter to help me up from a restaurant toilet when the handicap stall wasn’t available. Haha. Might as well laugh!! We’re all in this blessed season of life. To God be the glory.

Hey Nanny - you look great in your cute gardening outfit and hat…you look great in hats. The bougainvillea look beautiful…I had them growing in my CA garden on the patio, Shamu looks handsome - Colleen and Micah made a cameo appearance in the background! The day was indeed beautiful! It’s beautiful here too, everything has greened up and my azaleas are gorgeous. I love Spring, it brings with it renewed hope and faith. Your clothing haul from Dub is nice (she loves her Mama), especially that beautiful jacket…you will look gorgeous in that. I always love your stories…especially when you go to SD…those stories remind me of my dear friend Ilona, who lived in Rancho Santa Fe, North County…anyway, she would tell me the greatest stories about the Drs. and Scripps employees that we knew, her children and grandchildren, her travels, and most of all her beloved dogs. We would be on the phone for hours. Every single morning that she was in town, she and the dogs jumped in her car and she took them for a ride…is that cute or what??? Sadly, for all who were lucky enough to know her, she passed away in 2022 after a brief battle with cancer. Listening to you and your stories reminds me of her, and I feel a kind of kinship with you, I have since the first video of yours that I watched. So, thanks for, in a way, stepping in for her, my CA friend. Sending love and blessings to you, Moosie and Shamu🌺🌸🌺

Thank God for toilet lift seats - it was the only way I could take my mom traveling when she was in her 80s. I carried it in a black plastic garbage bag & checking the height of the toilet seat was always a first priority! That way I knew immediately if I could leave it in the car or not. And none of us minded sitting on it either!

Oh the indignity of low toilets! I’ve been working for years to strengthen my legs after a bit of a scare in a mall bathroom! At 77, I now have a higher one in my house! Hallelujah. Nanny & Moosie…your outdoor area is is stunning! Here in Missouri, I plant numerous planters throughout our yard, but not until after Mother’s Day. So I am so looking forward to that. I feel especially close to my mom when I plant the yard, as after she had her cancer surgery, that was my Mothers Day gift to her. So it is beautiful in many ways and fills my heart. Peacefulness for me is morning coffee on the patio, and cocktails there on Friday nights. It has become a wonderful sanctuary and probably my favorite place. Your daughter sounds just like my daughter and one time we got surprise by my mother who came in from California to visit us in New Orleans. I didn’t want her to go in my daughter room but my mother couldn’t wait to go. So in she went and sat right on top of clothes and all we did was laugh so hard.

Oh what a joy to find your lovely video again. YOur gardens are just beautiful and so lush. I love your cute garden over-alls and actually ordered a pair for myself....can't wait to wear them! How wonderful to attend Lizzie's First Communion and have that special time with your beautiful family. Oh yes, we all eventually have to deal with those indignities of aging. but with a sense of humor and a positive view....we find ways to overcome and adjust! I had to laugh out loud about your 'bathroom adventure!' Also, we have to be very careful when exiting the shower or bath tub....Gotta use those 'Grab Bars'. Your Shamu looks so much like our big Tuxeco male cat...Mr. Checkers who is recovering from a broken leg, surgery and casting! Cats are amazingly adaptive....he's getting around with a huge pink cast on his back leg...and actually running up the stairs. Perhaps a lesson for us....finding ways to cope with injury and the indignities of aging. Ooooh, what a 'haul' .....now you will have to have a little fashion show to let us see all your new items from Dubbie! PS: we didn't get to see Moosie with his new hair cut!

Great video Nanny. I so sympathized with your traveling and toilet story. I am 71 and recently went to a very crowded public bathroom . Well, you guessed it, I could not get up and it was a stall with nothing to pull up with. I panicked and thought I was going to have to face the humiliation and holler for help. Thank heaven I finally managed to get up. I was so traumatized by the event I came home and googled for leg strength exercises and how to get up from low toilets. You know, you can’t really carry one of those toilet raisers to everywhere you go. At least now if I am in a public restroom, thanks to Google, I can try what some of the videos suggested - scooting your behind all the way to the back of the toilet aNd using your hands to push up on the front of the now exposed toilet seat. Haven’t had to try it yet, but it eases my mind having a plan of action.

Nanny. You are so cute feeding all your birds. I’m laughing at your toilet drama. I have to sit on the bathroom floor to clean the cat box. My back is toast, so for me to get back up, I have to crawl over to the toilet and lift myself . Ridiculous! Ha Ha. Some of the toilets in restaurants, etc, are really low. I find myself having trouble getting up from them. What we go thru in our senior days. I have trouble getting into my children’s SUV’S or trucks. They are so high . What we took for granite when young, sure is harder to do now. You look really pretty . You certainly don’t look your age. So much younger. ❤. Love getting close from my oldest daughter. She buys good quality things and some fit me and some go to thrift shop. ❤

We need to remember God will keep us strong and healthy. Let's ask Him and believe His promise to HEAL ALL OUR DISEASES in Psalm 103:3.

Hi from Annie you look lovely as always and those clothes are nice tht pink jacket is fab. So nice to get together with family always makes one feel remembered and wanted etc, Mothers day is tomorrow here in aussie land not doing anything hve not for the last ten years since my daughter married that evil person, well it is very sad, but I always plant flowers in the garden for my adopted mum who passed when I was 16 years ago now but still think of her always. Light candles and pray too. My darling cat Sharma had to be put to sleep last Thursday couple days ago it was awful th vet said after two days on drip did not see enough improvement of the kidneys etc wanted to keep her for few more days on drip it cost over 800 dollars a day being a pensioner with no other income it is a struggle etc but I was prepared to cut on food shop to pay for the cat. She was almost 18yrs old but always been ok till this happened they still not sure why? She was a full time indoor cat. Always healthy strong and happy. She is buried out front with the other pets from all these years. I put a pyramid frame on top of grave with a cat statue and flowers and a Elvis cup.

Love seeing all your family pictures! When my mom and I travel, she's 87, she has to try out the bath tub, she doesn't like showers... so she says I'll take my shoes off and get in and try to get out so stay in here with me.... so she gets in and sits then turns to get on her knees and then well we both start cracking up and you Know that will go on for awhile cause it just does and finally she can usually get out herself, but it's hard to hoist yourself up when your used to your own tub!!!

What a funfunfun video!! It is a gloriously God given day and here’s what I did starting at 9:30 this morning: post office, car washed, removed everything from the garage, scrubbed (well, hosed down with dawn) the garage floor, washed the large mats from garage and front door as well the lllooonnnggg rugs coming into house from the garage thru the laundry room…which are drying in the sun on the outside table…made and ate lunch. WHEW! Now heading for the Advil bottle and going to close my eyes for a bit and rest my bones. But, boy o boy, do I feel accomplished! It sure feels great to clean up outside stuff on such a day as this…clear blue skies, 75 degrees, wonderful breeze, no humidity, and NO….and I repeat…NO CICADAS yet! YUK! Illinois…particularly the Chicago are supposed to be hit the hardest because we’re getting attacked two times about two weeks apart…yuk yuk yuk! Can I come stay at your house…..I’ll sleep in Shamus’s bed with him….pleasepleaseplease 🙄? Maybe Moosie would let us see the “after” of his haircut……Smooches to you both xoxoxox

Thank you for the idea of the toilet raiser. I was just at a hotel where the toilet was so low that with my bad knees that it was difficult to get up. I figured out a way with the door open so I could use the door handle and the sink.

Oh Nanny you make me laugh!! I am 75 and just last week was at the store and knelt down to see something on bottom shelf. Oh my gosh I could not get up. Nothing close by to lean on or to pull myself up. I thought am I going to have to crawl or roll over to a vegetable bin and pull myself up. I tried one last time and said " help me Lord this is crazy" and made it up! LESSON LEARNED !! I DON'T CARE IF THERE IS A $100 BILLON FLOOR I WILL NOT GET DOWN AGAIN!!! Nanny.... Catfood is high in protein. Much more than dogfood.. Perhaps thats why they like it.. I've heard that dogs can survive on Catfood but Cats would starve eating dogfood....? Had a good laugh with your bathroom discussion. Truthfully, been there and done it! My sweet daughter has a powder room toilet that requires sincere contemplation before usage. Whoever invented these low toilets must have been of low stature.

Glad you had a nice visit with family at Cinco de Mayo confirmation weekend in San Diego. I think all bathrooms should be handicap accessible. Mine is because I made it that way when my sister moved in years ago. (She had MS, and was disabled) She's gone now, but I have gotten use to having the higher up toilet, grab bars, etc. Make everything easier for everyone. I love the hot pink blaser from Dubby. A good color for you. Also nice Nike walking tennis shoes. Beautiful colors for you. They look comfortable too. Other things nice as well. If I scream, no one is coming. I do have trouble getting up off the floor if I try to wash the floor by hand. Actually I will sometimes wipe up th floor using my feet. I push those handywipe cloths around the floor with my feet. Nanny, I know you exercise so i mention this.. Do you do squats? Even if you squat just a little.. don't go down very far but do it religiously every day.... OR when you sit down and get up, sit back down and get up a couple times if you have the time.. IT will help. Squats help me alot.. I can tell the difference within a couple days of doing them... I can get up easier and walk easier.. Hugs! deb
