The best concert experience I've ever had was Kentucky headhunters at a free, small concert in the middle of Bowingreen Kentucky in June of 2023! Everyone sang along, etc. Doug Phelps said we were the best crowd he remembered! I've been to Hank Jr. And Charlie Daniels concert in Owensboro Kentucky and it was great of course, but didn't match the perfect atmosphere of a concert that Kentucky headhunters created in bowling Green Kentucky in the city park! It was a surreal concert! Best I've been to, which surprised the hell outta me... a free concert in a city park better than Hank Jr and Charlie Daniels! But it was!
This group had one of the coolest band name ever. Them fellows mix country, rock, blues, and made it sound so awesome. Thank you for all the great music.
This was my favorite when I was was litttle bc I knew my daddy would kick some ass over me I was a kid and didn’t realize it was about your old man not your dad

It's like a Group of hippies from the 60's had sex with The Georgia Satellites and everyones drunk uncle, Then bore This arrangement of Awesomeness! BTW... That was in a weird way a compliment.
Not a Hank Williams song. Jimmy Bryant wrote it around 1967, long after Hank Sr died in 1953. Jim Alley and Waylon recorded it in 1968 with Wayne Moss on guitar, Linda Ronstadt in 1969. Hank Jr. eventually recorded it in 1979. Headhunters in 1991. It is a great song.
They didn't play the guitar break after the second verse the way Waylon did. Wasn't even close. Guess they couldn't. That's the best part about this song.
@Carrie9116 The Phelps brothers split off for a period of time, and the Youngs and Greg Martin continued with a few new band members. Later on, Doug Phelps rejoined the band.
That you have promised to never give me up if you're going to make a big joke out of my life after I gave you all my love and trust you're still my best friend

Well, I loved their music, but when it comes to making a video, you'd think they let their kids do it !! Good Grief, Charlie Brown, what were you thinking ???? In today's world, your video has to be better than a piss-poor cartoon !! Yuch, no wonder they were a flash in the pan !!
Always sound like you do here not like the rather tame n compressed sound of too much mixing n producing from that Live at the Shed sound of the Abridged show. Please, always be raw with your feet, both of them firmly planted on good earth.
