its so corny . she had to jump on the band wagon because country is so popular right now , you know people that play instruments and work hard all their lives doing coffee shops ,small bars , clubs , and fairs etc , doing their time . and then all she does is get all her contacts and producers to put out a " country " album .. its terrible @@rockers2rockers616
Nothing like being big in the head .( BLOW BLOW SON ) Don't like your attitude. Waylon was and still is my favourite American Country music singer of all times ELIZABETH in SCOTLAND 🙃
Sorry to be so offtopic but does anyone know a tool to log back into an instagram account..? I was stupid forgot my account password. I would love any tricks you can give me
If someone hits thumbs down to any of Waylon's songs they have to be deaf and have extremely bad taste in music. Waylon Jennings is one of the greatest singers to ever walk this earth. He was the king of country!
@@Daveboles4222 TOTALLY AGREE WITH YOU (@DAVEBOLES4222). Waylon Jennings, was the most amazing unique style voice American Country music singer ever and never shall there ever be another person, who shall fill his shoes. There was only one Waylon Jennings, never to be replaced, (NEVER EVER ).OR (RALPH MOONEY ). MAY THEY RIP FOREVER AND EVER AMEN ELIZABETH IN SCOTLAND 🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏⚘⚘⚘⚘⚘⚘⚘⚘⚘❤❤
@@SnemmoortserEpiwsregoobn-bb9ik LOVED LOVED LOVED Waylon and Big John Wayne .RIP FOREVER, BOTH OF YOU. WISHING YOU WERE STILL HERE WITH US ALL YOUR TRUE FANS AND FOLLOWERS. ELIZABETH SCOTLAND 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹❤❤
@@SnemmoortserEpiwsregoobn-bb9ik I am a Democrat and I love Waylon and the Duke. I also love hunting and whisky. I do hate fascism and insurrection, though.
Mike Anderson Well, if you're ready for something that I consider REALLY BIG TIME, listen to Johnny Cash AND Waylon Jennings sing TOGETHER: 'There Aint No Good Chain Gang." Yes! It is on You Tube. .
Chad Cullen Hey Chad. I'm really happy for you for finding Waylon. A good way to get a great and inexpensive taste of his music is with his CD "The Ultimate Waylon Jennings." On www.amazon.com, it's about $7. And you really get a lot of great songs.
I regret not going to see him perform in the DFW , but I would like to see his son Shooter perform somewhere out there. But everything posted about this Outlaw was spot on . As a kid growing up in the 70's I was taking back hearing his music . His singing voice stood out to me . I love the way classic sound he had in the 50's and 60's also . I damn sure loved it when Chris, Johnny and Willie got together for some albums Anyway I wish he was still around , RIP Waylon .......
@@r.henderson4093 I saw him back in 1992 here in Farmington NM...I was truly up front front row against the fence he was like 15' away...was the very best concert EVER...by the wAy I'm native.... totally love it n Soo miss my favorite singer ever!
I've been and still am a fan since I 1st heard him back in 1965. To me, he's the best C&W singer of all time; no exceptions. He could sing anything; i.e. MacArthur Park, Amanda, Lonesome, Onry & Mean. Damned near any song he chose to do in his incredible voice was better than the original. Can' t tell you how many people of the years that I've introduced to his music. R.I.P. Hoss!
Nobody can sing like Waylon did! that Earthy, guttral, country inspired sound, the clean sounds of the guitars, drums and that steel guitar. speaking of the steel guitar, that guy can play! This is country music inspired by real life and not the candy ass crap of today.
Waylon is the shit, but there are a few up and comers bringing back that sound. Sturgill Simpson, Jamie Johnson, and Cody Jinks just to name a few. They may not be National, but just like Waylon they are big in Texas!
Double time on the hi hats and the way the kick sounds. It's not just a straight beat. It's both in front and being the snare. That's so cool the way this drummer did it. I try to get my drummers to do this. I play in a three piece band and we try to sound as full as possible. I do all leads and vocals. Waylon will always be my favorite country singer and lead guitarist. RIP Waylon.
This gives me goosebumps,...... Wow.... Woke up singing this in my head... and had to put it on with my coffee.. Absolutely incredible power of music That voice.......lord I miss wayon Saw him with Willie at Indian Ranch Massachusetts front row..I sat in amazement
I just discovered waylon. Well, I've heard about him in the past. I always thought he would sound like todays mainstream music. I am in love with the sound. This is what true country sounds like I guess.
Absolute best. Nothing and nobody can ever come close. Had the privilege of seeing Waylon when I was about 8 years old. I have held onto that day for 32 years. I will never let go.🌹
Give Colter Wall a listen .... Canadian, but don't let that stop you . Canada is producing better Country AND Western than Nashville has in many a day .
I've always hated live versions of songs, and all live albums but this song is amazing.. hell, I prefer this over the studio recording. his voice was just amazing and unique. 1 of a kind
He is one of around five artists I am aware of who seriously much of the time were better live on stage than in the studio. There is no doubt that his 2 set set "Waylon Live: The Expanded Edition" has the definitive performances of many of his biggest hits.
Real. Ive finally come to a point where I can no longer turn on new country radio. Its not country. THIS IS COUNTRY MUSIC. Its so sad that pop music is labled as country these days. Thank the Lord for RU-vid.
Yeah, You got it , Today's country pretty well sucks. I notice on a few covers of this song, he skips a verse. The one about, We got together and we cashed in our sweeps. Gave um to a beggar who was mumbling through the streets. It would be right after the instrumental. I loved that song, came out in about 1978 IIRC?
There's a few out there worth a shit but they don't sing pretty little cutesie songs while wearing fuckin skinny jeans like Creed Fisher but no matter what ain't no one can replace waylon and johnny and the hag.
@Nothing But Lunkers he might have more money but his music is still not country and still sucks. The fact that he is so popular speaks to the low caliber of taste of people today. And I would imagine the majority of his fan base is female kinda like the Male pop stars of the 90s and early 2000s. People can like whatever they want. And in turn I can make assumptions about their moral character and intelligence level based on what I see. Luckily I'm rarely wrong
I can never put my finger on it, something so unique about his voice. It's great for one thing, but is it the phrasing, the honesty, I don't know but when he sings his voice just has this gravitas that makes everything sound soulful. Oh who cares, the guy's just awesome, the fact that he was a good guy just makes it all the sweeter.
+Tommy Petersen I agree and I heard it explained like this, that what separates his voice from others is that when his sings, it makes you believe in the lyrics. It doesn't require sweetening.
+Rex Oates I really like how you used the word "sweetening". You must have read Waylon's book as he mentions how execs would take his or Willie's albums and " sweeten" them in production. The result would be an album that would be virtually unrecognizable to both Willie or Waylon. It has been said before, but any artist who has creative control over their music owes a HUGE debt to Waylon. He sacrificed so much to truly make Nashville ask " are you sure Hank done it this way?" The system sadly never really forgave him. As soon as his sales went from astronomical to merely really good they cut him loose. Their paying for it now as Nashville again has become bland, overly commercial, and the furthest thing from genuine.....and Waylon's legacy and legend just continues to grow.
+Tommy Petersen I don't really remember that in his book, but it was in another book about country music that I was looking at in the local library I think. The author was comparing people like Waylon to many of today's artists that have no real singing voice. Everything is just sweetened to make them sound better. You're right about people owing a debt to Waylon. He broke down so many doors for others to walk through.
WAYLON. WILLIE. CASH. THE WERE OUTLAWS. TODAYS SO CALLED COUNTRY ARE OUT CAST AND OUT OF TALENT. I WON'T DARE LISTEN TO THIS SHIT TODAY. NOT UNTIL NASHVILLE GET THEIR HEADS OUT OF THEIR ASSES.
Waylon was an amazing talented person . He was one of those people that I remember where I was and what I was doing when I heard he had passed . Im here listening to his music because he and his music will always be with me and all of those who loved his music and his attitude ..it was Waylon's way or no way .. lol ...I miss him
I love Waylon's production sensibilities. There is almost always a Telecaster and a pedal steel played through a phase shifter. This puts a stamp on the music and distinguishes it from everything else. In 1975, competition was absolutely fierce: Almost every country record that made the top 200 from that era is legendary and every artist an all-time icon, but Waylon still stands as one of the very best.
Even as a kid, I could always recognize Waylons guitar sound. Years later I found out about effects and equipment, But a clean tele w a small stone or MXR through a bif Fender w a little reverb will always be HIS sound!
Totally, I was in love with the sound of the intro in Dukes of Hazzard reruns when I was a kid, it's probably what got me into guitar and country music more than anything else.
I have been a fan of Waylon's forever. His voice is pure magic and man could he play guitar. There are a lot of fans here in New Zealand. One of my cousins was named after him.
I go back here every time I need a "Waylon fix". I'm always amazed at how he sounds just as good live as on record. I just miss this guy. I probably read parts of his bio every day. ( yeah, I need help)
How can anyone give this a thumbs down? This is Awesome the legendary talent of Waylon Jennings and his band in their pomp. Country music today needs to get back listening to Waylon they need some inspiration ✌️
I'll always remember me and my two brothers in the back seat of the my dads rusty Chevrolet going on a Sunday ride in the country with this on a 8 track it sounded so true to the day and the time no one said a word just listen and taking it all in ill never forget so when I hear Waylons music brings me back to those days ,RIP Mr. Jennings you are missed.
There will never be another one like Waylon Jennings. This man was a marvel, in so many aspects. I wish I was half the man he was. My favorite entertainer of any kind... EVER... RIP Watasha.... youre forever missed
Don't know how many times, as a kid, I watched Hee-Haw, and so many bands had a pedal steel master like this gentleman. It always impressed me, even as a small kid. Waylon's voice and his band are awesome, too. Just like early 80's country.
This music at this specific time at the Texas Opry was The Best of Waylon I ever saw.. These songs he did that day are hands down my favorite of all time, including every music band in history. I can watch these over and over and every time it hits my soul
This is my favorite version of this song, off the Waylon Live album. There will never be another country performer like Hoss he to me was and still is the best . I was lucky to have seen him in concerts at least 10 times . This man was the real deal,he sounded even better live then on records. great singer and man he could really rip on that cool Telecaster. It sure was a sad day when I heard he passed away.I still listen to him just about every day. R.I.P. Waylon .
The chicken pickin' interplay between Waylon and Ralph Mooney on steel is easily one of the all-time crown jewels of the best in country music. Spare and clean, yet drives like a locomotive.
No one sings like waylon and I admire he’s one of the only country singers I’ve seen with an electric guitar and a damn good band. I mean his singing is just insane, and the combos of the drums hi hats and the steel guitar and his little solos it’s just a different sound. The best one
To all of these so called country singers who credit Waylon you can only dream to walk the walk. This man walked heads above you. Waylon paved the way unfortunately that road has been ground up and paved by cookie cutter want to be’s. Only a few can hold a candle to him Travis, Hank Jr. Chris Stapleton to name a very few. RIP Waylon.
Seeing this reminds me of the time I spent at my favorite beer joint with all of my friends. Sadly some of them have gone to the great beer joint in the sky. Cheers gentlemen RIP
I hear that Man, He was absolutely the VERY BEST. Never forget saw him in about 1981 at the Wheeling Civic center, Him and Jessie, Opened up with Storms never last. He belted it out!
Waylon brought a new level of blues, outlaw, rock, and country to each of those and a whole new sound -- the Waylon Sound -- was born. RIP, Outlaw, few have deserved it better.
As Chet Atkins said when he met Waylon, "I found me a star!" Chet praised him for so many things, but my favorite of his accolades was that he stayed true to where he came from. Waylon played Lonesome to the end of his career and the crowds always loved it. Why? Because he was telling HIS story. Add Ralph Mooney and you have all you need. RIP Waylon and Ralph.
Live baby live!! Live like in not studio, nor live like live life.👍🌿🌿 live like played on stage, and that stage is never been made love to better. 🔥🔥❤️❤️❤️boogity boogity boogity
