This series has been fun to watch. I've read most of the books mentioned so far but haven't got around to Wyndham yet. Thanks for taking the time and effort to make these!

This is my very favourite Wyndham book. Despite the shocking and thrilling nature of the story, Wyndham tells the story in a really comforting and cozy way. It almost gave me the same vibes as a Miss Marple murder mystery probably because of the country side background. Of course, there are deeper philosophical debates also which are most engrossing!! Thanks for a great review!

I HAD to watch a video reviewing a John Wyndham book! I am quite fond of Wyndham's work, overall. His book, The Chrysalids, was my favorite of his when I was younger (yay, empathic telepathy!), partly because it so accurately (and terrifyingly) illustrates so many things about the mindset of extreme fundamentalist Christianity (which has afflicted parts of my family, especially my maternal grandfather). Now I'm all curious: which other Wyndham books have you read!?? What's your ranking of them -- or general pile of favorites?! I've read these, and probably would rank my favs in this order: Chocky The Chrysalids The Midwich Cuckoos The Day of the Triffids --- I've read these but don't remember them hardly at all: The Seeds of Time Trouble with Lichen The Kraken Wakes Exiles on Asperus --- I'm not sure if I've read Consider Her Ways and Others, The Outward Urge, or Stowaway to Mars... I'm pretty sure I have not read The Curse of the Burdens, Foul Play Suspected...

Just a point of information...The book was made into a film _The Village of the Damned_ in 1960, to which there was a sequel, _The Children of the Damned._

I remember that being on tv when I was young. After that, people with blonde "Purdey" or pageboy haircuts were often referred to as Midwich Cuckoos! There was also a good adaption of The Day Of The Triffids with John Duttine on tv in the 1970s, I think.
