Loved Alphaville and love this cover, from a period in history when all we wanted to do was party, in case someone flipped a switch and blew us all away in some nuclear armageddon. Underrated band.
I love both The Killers and Imagine Dragons. But as I grew up with this song I have to say The Killers version touches my soul. It was sung in the melancholic voice and with raw emotion which is the soul of this song.
This is by far and away the best cover! He just nails everything about the song. I love Alphaville, and obviously this song is iconic, but this one is almost as amazing ❤️

As a huge Alphaville fan, when I was in a shop one day I heard a song on the radio and thought "is that Marian Gold singing? I don't recognise the song!" (Marian is Alphaville's lead singer). It turned out to be Brandon with his song "Only the Young" and from that moment, The Killers and also Brandon's solo stuff joined the ranks with Alphaville as my most favourite bands ever. Hearing the Killers play this is ... just an emotional experience, like a coming-together of something that was simply meant to be. If you're a Killers fan, go listen to Alphaville. As a band, they're still going strong today and are the biggest inspiration to my own music.
Whoa, the way he sings 'forever' at 01:24 in a natural vibrato is just......Pfff! It's in the details, guys! The Killers are all about the details! That's the magic! And we all feel it.
Dude.. I remember this. I was there. Well, actually not at Rock am Ring. But at Rock im Park and the crowd there was WAY better. Brandon started the song and stopped after "Forever Young", because the crowd was so loud. That was so amazing and I still get goosebumps, when I remember that evening.
because it is the same two chords, Aminor Gmajor in the same quick succession... in fact the whole songs' chord progression is very close to Don't Look Back in Anger in general
